  1. to be fair i'll take that point with regards to the lack of ruthlessness, do preston have more efficient recruitment than us? wheels have fallen off there big time and the likes of Stockley and Sinclair have hardly pulled up any trees either. For every sheff united there is another 21 teams that haven't gone up they have a really top manager no shame in that. With the resources we have and the FFP balancing act the club has with fans staying away a new manager would probably want to rip the squad up and start again or at least bring some of there own players in, the names mentioned are just as hit and miss as Mowbray. We are 10th I don't know what people expect with our squad wage bill and resources, even if wage spend has gone up its not up there with the top 10 in the league.
  2. When was the last really good job McCarthy same with Pulis did ok at boro but nothing special, we've had people touting the Cowleys in the past again not pulling up trees at HTFC. Our wage budget is competitive for mid table to lower mid table if we finish about that we are essentially punching above our weight. Thomas Franck was Dean Smiths assistant so was already at brentford, Ainsworth again if he wasnt local would people be touting him?. Its not to say Mowbray is perfect he is far from it but we aren't a million miles away with what on paper is a really solid but completely unspectacular squad. I think he's earnt next season and see how we go from there think Covid will be a bit of a leveller in the transfer market, he's got to be brave let Graham, Smallwood, Samuel etc go
  3. So a disappointing result this week following on from Wigan, my personal take on Mowbray in/out. The way i see it is, that squad isn’t really good enough for top 6 without Dack. He’s got very little money to spend and no room to manoeuvre with FFP. He’s had to rebuild the infrastructure of the club behind the scenes it takes time. Realistically who’s better pulis McCarthy someone mentioned Roy Keane ?‍♂️. Look at our wage structure it’s lower half championship. Yes it’s disappointing but I struggle to see who would do much better with what we as a club have to work with.
  4. Speaking as a parent who was at the birth of both his kids, i wouldn't have missed the births for anything but each to the their own. I bring my daughter to games now she's been coming for nearly 2 years she is 4 and absolutely loves the day out and when my son is old enough i'll bring him as well. Speaking personally i enjoy my match days more now as when you are with your kid you don't take it so seriously and seeing the enjoyment she gets is amazing. We don't live that locally to Ewood anymore so we travel from Flixton it takes about 30/35 mins, if I didn't take her she'd end up as a red or blue if the atmosphere is rubbish, its not for lack of enthusiasm from younger fans. Its the rest who'd rather sit and whinge or the ones that no bother coming at all. If the crowd was up to 15/16k it would make a huge difference.
  5. Or the I’ll pass those comments on....
  6. Don’t blame me I’m only passing on what was said ?
  7. Well said Chris I did email Lynsey Talbot over a week ago before they announced the streaming I suggested a voucher to the value of the missed games or its levied against the season ticket next season, Its something they are looking into and hoped to announce something once they knew the full impact on supporters next season etc.
  8. football is worth to much money they'll play behind closed doors, I think crowds are a goner until there is some sort of vaccine or testing, the quickest ever vaccine took 4 years to create test and roll out. If it takes that football will be long gone, so I think some sort of compromise will be found. Interesting that the leagues with small tv deals are ending the seasons. Seria A Bundesliga La Liga all plan to restart in the next two months. We don't know what the picture will look like as a country then, I suspect the government will want sport back for moral as much as anything else
  9. I suspect this will be the last home game played that's not behind closed doors, I think we'll start to see things being locked down a bit more in the next 10 days as we head towards the spike around easter
  10. The pessimism stems from parts of the fanbase wanting to dumb down expectations and seemingly settle for mediocrity, so they can always turn round when we are on a bad run and say we are over performing, you know who the usual suspects are on social media
  11. we had a season under Souness when we came out to lets get it started by the the black eyed peas Best song for me was when we came out to wild rover by the dropkick murphys
  12. No chance , we'd do well to finish on or around where we are
  13. Scott Hogan ? he's scored 13 goals in 3 years actually that sort of strike ratio fits in with the club!. Maddison is a berk and really disruptive influence see the Peterborough owners comments on him Wells went for money. I could name lots of players that would improve us, its absolutely pointless as we clearly don't have a budget to do this. We made a desperate move for Atsu on the cheap and failed, Mowbrays failing is keeping the dross like Samuel/Smallwood etc at the club draining wages.
  14. I pay for 2 season tickets, but I think you are right look on the fb group how many ask for streams, I think we walking an FFP tightrope and Mulgrew coming back coupled with the failure to ship Samuel and Smallwood out has left no room in the budget. I'm not to disappointed as I sort of expected it, i'm happy enough if we get more game time for JRC and JB. I do think we should have brought a left back in that was critical for me
  15. no chance he won't get another job like this, plus he's under no pressure the owners like him his mates the ceo and his other mate is now the dof
  16. You have to question why he hasn’t played though that said would be good business
  17. I’d agree with that would be good signing at this level
  18. Won’t be albrighton he was on the bench last night also he signed a new deal after they won the league. His wages would be way over what we can offer
