No, Yesterday I was at Barnet v Grimsby meeting up with an old friend. There aren't many League 2 matches in the London area, so when he comes to a game 10 minutes away from where I live, I'll go there. Will be at Notlob and Puke games though and was at Spuds and the Hammers matches. Would have been at Fulham if there hadn't been an accident on the M74 as I was escaping Hun central.

Of course there was absolutely NO provocation!!

Define "pass" Doesn't a pass nowadays include a 'd' and an 'e'??

Well done you- who knew ill-educated idiots could actually get paid just over adult minimum wage? Just watching Celtic v Dunfermline. They've just started chanting "easy, easy"- at 3-0. At that point I'm more relaxed about the song. Before that, it's tempting fate. Although to be honest I'd prefer we'd wait til 4 or 5 nil just to make sure!!!

Obviously you don't realise that you're NOT supporting the team. You're there, making a nuisance of yourself and actually hindering the team in trying to make progress. Support is a positive. You cry "easy, easy" even if we're not ahead which simply winds up the opposing team. You abuse opposing players simply for who they are. (don't tell me Robbie Blake hadn't heard you when he scored for Brum against us last season- his goal celebration would disprove that theory) Also, why the heck do you need to sing about Burnley when we're playing Arsenal, Manure etc? Total irrelevance (as they are to most of us anyway)

Has "the invisible man" given any useful details when he joined the board. If so, can we give the details to the club. There's a difference between having a drink and a laugh and becoming boorish and annoying to those who are forced to sit around you. Obviously Wez doesn't do a job that demands even the rudimentaries of grammer, spelling or punctuation. Didn't know you could get more than minimum wage for such a position.

I think that the next time we have a sell-out away match, we take the seat numbers of the trouble-makers, get the police to photograph them and then report them to the club. (or photograph them yourself) Enough complaints will get them barred quickly enough. Those are the people who shout "easy, easy" at totally inappropriate times which just serves to enflame the other side. In my book at least they are therefore in part responsible for our losses and would be no loss at all to the majority of decent fans. This is why I sit in the lower Jack Walker- I can guarantee none of the morons sit there, and I can watch the game in comfort- not having to stand "because I want to and the game should have organised standing areas". It doesn't- get over it. I, for one, and quite happy sitting, thank you. I know the club needs all the fans they can get, but these people aren't fans, they're scum. As for the £2 an hour brigade- as someone says- for them, that would be an aspirational target, one they're never likely to achieve.

I would move heaven and earth to be at this match. Unfortunately I now sit by the home dugout, but I might just buy a different ticket for that one near the away dugout. Unfortunately unless fat Freddy's at the game I doubt he'd be sacked in time for us to give him the abuse he deserves when he leaves ewood that day, but we can but hope............

Being one of the few people who saw how bad for the club that man had become. And I think even a bluenose like you would see I was right.

I was one of the 10 (and am/was very proud of it). I wish him all the footballing ill in the world. It's enjoyable watching him fail so dramatically and proving all my points so beautifully. Sorry if that's in bad taste, but hey! I don't care about the big club/small club thing. I was just so glad to see him go. I'd adore it if he was sacked after Ewood, and especially because we won't be paying the bill. Oh, and I do attend Ewood!!

Didn't read this as 18 pages of "oh woe is me" is more than I can stand. A few points Bellamy was caught offside quite often. This was not because Bellamy was being stupid, but because he expected the pass to come way before it did. I watched him a lot the second half of last season, and with decent midfielders and defenders who know how to pass the ball, he's spectacular. Unfortunately we don't have any of those. Hence the offside. I'm not a footballer, but there were times when I was screaming at Pedersen to "give the f**king ball to f**cking Bellamy" much as I used to do with other players to Mr Cole. They always seem to chose the easy path, and it's never the right one. Todd was our only credible attacking threat yesterday- how scary is that? (3 of our 4 shots on target I believe). This, and the confused individuals who are the rest of our "defence", may explain why Toddy appeared not to do well yesterday. He was, for great periods of the game, trying to play the game with only Brad for backup. IMHO the others should have been tied to the bus and made to run home. Emerton. Are we sure HE didn't have a motorbike crash in the close season? Much as he was never very good at crossing, or passing accurately, or winning the ball, or heading the ball, now he seems to have forgotten how to play football completely. He gets the ball, the head goes down and he dribbles slowly into the nearest bunch of defenders for the other team he can find. then once the ball has gone he stands and looks at it as if to say "now what am I doing here again". If anyone offers us some magic beans for the lad we should bite their hands off. I don't care we have no-one else to play there. Being ten men would be better than having someone who is, in essence, on the opposition's side anyway. Here's hoping for a BIG improvement against Fulham. -

Gary was done for perverting the course of justice. He was never done for drink driving- only repeatedly for speeding and banned (shouldn't be a crime- it's a revenue raising dodge). While banned he borrowed a mate's ID and kept driving. He got done for speeding again under the mate's name, but got away with it until he scored the winning goal for Ipswich against Man City. the policeman who did him saw the photo of him in the local paper and remembered that wasn't the name he'd given him and bob's your uncle. One month inside and one month with a tag. For the record he spent a couple of seasons at Ipswich and since then he's been at Cardiff (where he spent all of last season injured) before being frozen out because of their financial difficulties and moving to Grimsby again. -
These abandonment issues are a real bitch, eh Flopsy?

I can't believe that any Rovers fan would ask something like this. Maybe he wants to go to a bigger club (that's Spurs, by the way????!!??) but the wonderful Sourpuss personality would also have been a deciding factor. It's lovely to see everything I said about that man coming true for a team that isn't us. If he buys/inherits good players of course it takes a little time before he ruins them (us for the first two seasons he was here), but eventually they turn into a bunch of no-hopers with no clue and even less heart. Add to that the tactical ineptitude and you have us for the season and a half before the man left. It's the fact that he doesn't seem to have the brainpower to learn from his mistakes that is stunning. "well, I have this good attacking midfielder, but I've just been to the shops for a new full-back and somehow came back with two more good attacking midfielders (they were a bargain) so I guess he'll have to play at full-back. I'm sure he won't mind as I'm such a lovable character that people will play anywhere for me" I'm just so glad that he's not our millstone any more. And that it's Newcastle as well is just top!

He's still breathing

Souness- nuff said Newcastle- because they"are a big club"- show us your trophy cabinet then! -
It's just nice to see Newcastle on the self-destruct path now. A team I've hated for years. They and Sourface deserve each other. And he's driven away 14,000 fans there- that's even better than he managed with us- in such a short time too!!
-
I kept telling you all- it's like me and shoes. He has a midfielder festish. He goes out KNOWING he needs a defender or a striker, but there, in front of him, is this adorable little midfielder, and suddenly logic disappears out of the window and that's the most important thing in the world. Nothing else wll do, it's the midfielder or nothing!!! It's sad really But then you are talking to someone who has over 100 pairs of shoes!!!

The hilariousness of the barcodes' situation cannot be overestimated. Four more years at Ewood? I'd have shot the b**t**d myself before then.

Absolutely brilliant. And every word of it true.

Oh my god Entering my 10th year as a season ticket holder. Was an armchair supporter for 4 years before that. It feels longer, somehow!! -
Ah but you see, if we could actually get the ball in the net at the other end, we wouldn't have had to rely on keeping clean sheets and therefore play 4-5-1 all the time!!
-
I think he was quoted at Rovers as saying "this is his last club" so I suppose- being a general truth-teller and all!?!!!!, that he's transferred that to Puke??
-
And I quote a certain Mr Shearer last night- when told by Wendy that his only medal to date was earned at Rovers -"and the way things are going that might be my only medal full stop". Oh dear- are the knives out? And could they drive them in very, VERY deeply, please????

[Archived] 2005/6 Season Ticket Sales
Jan replied to Mike Graham's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Celtic Season tickets CLOSING date for renewals is 20 May!!!! Ours won't even have opened by then! Admittedly this year there's no incentive to buy a season ticket early. Ordinary players performing in an ordinary way. However I still think everything always happens too late for us. If they sent out packs earlier they could chase non-renewals earlier, they'd be able to move people to better seats earlier and when we DO buy decent players won't see glory-hunters get in on those better seats (note positive WHEN we buy decent players). Also they'd get a better view of their budget earlier!
