  1. That didn’t age so well with Fofana going to Burnley 😂
  2. Fofana was a good shout on loan but I don't see the connection and would assume they still want a level higher than a (struggling) Championship side. McGuire from MLS was rookie of the year and I would gladly take him, but I think we have to look at that kind of pedigree or higher, or there's no point to making a deal really. Ole Sæter was mentioned in the summer but I don't rate him that highly. Good left foot and a strong finisher though. Signed a new contract in the summer after months of discussions/speculation but wants to try his luck abroad and Nürnberg in tier 2 in Germany have been lurking about. 28 y.o. so no resale value, and fairly untested.
  3. They should be interested in bringing him back now then.
  4. I'm grasping at straws here but Rory joined Rovers at 8 years old while Ash was 12, so hoping there's some loyalty there. Seems like GB/JDT are trying to show him there's a 'clear pathway' here too, so hopeful he's mature enough to try his luck here and he'll be replacing Tronstad in three years time.
  5. Sensible to try and negotiate the best deal for us. He won't go straight into the team anyway.
  6. Thought it was perfectly normal to divide payments into installments. Tbh. a clause like that should say directly that it takes £500k upfront for it to be triggered, and there wouldn't be much room for negotiations... could be that that's the story here and we're still haggling, which would justify some frustration.
  7. A lot more difficult to copy Brentford's model now after Brexit as well I believe. Some of the unknowns brought into that team wouldn't have qualified for a work permit these days, if I'm not mistaken.
  8. We’re definitely signing a striker this window. That’s where the Travis money will be allocated.
  9. Think we'll do more business and try and push upwards in the table. If not then Ayari for Travis doesn't make much sense to me. We're inn freefall form-wise at the moment so would think JDT wanted to keep his experienced captain until the summer.
  10. No rush with O'Riordan, he won't go straight into the team anyway. Hopefully they're close to other deals as well, we should loan out one of our strikers and get another one in. If Travis leaves then Garrett is good enough at the moment for first choice, so I think I would prioritise a right midfielder if they're too stubborn to fix the GK problem.
  11. Hill got beaten in the air by Eaves when it mattered. Looked great when he first came into the team but his form has dropped off along with the rest of the team.
  12. Didn’t mention him as it was like for like but he looks poor on so many levels.
  13. He's also very weak defensively and the same goes for Moran although he's a bit quicker and better at the initial pressing. We're incredibly vulnerable in the channels. Good teams who are more clinical than us counter us, while we struggle with the physical teams as well and most of our eleven get outmuscled man for man against most teams in this div.
  14. I think he looked for openings, but when you look at how physical Rotherham are, then on 2-1 we shouldn't put one of the smallest players in the league on the pitch - especially one that has proven to have little impact on games. Should try and flog him to a League 1 club in January if there are any takers. Didn't think I'd ever say this but we miss Hedges or Dolan on the right, and JRC even more as a roamer.
  15. Travis on instead of Markanday to help protect Brittain and help run down time. Ennis can’t press for the life of him so we look a lot different with him on. Pickering allows easy crosses that our defenders can’t deal with. Wish we had a battler like Ayala now.
  16. Why is Pickering marking Eaves on corners? Should be Hill vs Morrison and Carter vs Eaves. Wahlstedt looks so poor under a bit of pressure on set plays.
  17. Getting more and more painful watching this team. Mayday. Signings needed.
  18. Different opinions I guess. JDT doesn't seem to adapt as much to the opposition this season, while Mowbray took it one or two steps too far and went too negative. I'd like us to stay on the same course should JDT leave and we're in a relegation scrap, I prefer a bit of energy and enthusiasm about our play instead of ten Duffy's and a goalkeeper. It's the result business though so ultimately that's what I care about the most.
  19. True, supposedly their relationship turned sour at Glimt and that’s the reason, or part of it, that GB left. I put his name up as he’s a good example of someone that should sit among the top of the list. Just maybe not ours, who knows.
  20. You mean change strategy and get someone totally different in that can save ship?
  21. He'll have the same list regardless of how it goes down the day Jon is finished at the club. Broughton is inspired by Liverpool first and foremost, but also by Brentford and how stats-driven they are. My guess is he's a 'modern thinker' when it comes to style of play too, so I'm pretty sure he'll try and emulate some of what has made other clubs so successful in recent years. If we get Big Sam, Sparky or Duncan Ferguson then you know it's Waggott getting into the mix.
  22. Most likely. But top of the list will be more ambitious like Kjetil Knutsen. With regards to JDT and his staff, I wonder how much blame should be put on them for all the injuries we have suffered this season. Especially muscle injuries stem from fatigue and he makes everyone play matches to stay match fit, and is known to demand a lot of his players in training - and of course tactically that we do more pressing and running on the pitch. There's a downside to that too, and maybe seeing as he's still reasonably inexperienced in a 46 game league, Jon might be pushing the group too hard...
  23. Are you suggesting that's how things work now? JDT approves signings, but GB is the facilitator. Recruiting a 'modern' coach with similar ideas to that of JDT (and his ilk) is natural. My answer is yes, of course.
