  1. It was done to excess and was often the creator of self inflicted danger. It was a factor in loss of confidence in the goalkeeping fraternity and our defenders in general. Not over complicating in defence and the KISS doctrine is the way to go.
  2. Eustace has more than one style, that's now established. Against the Saudis we played similar to the Stoke game with a mixture of a passing game full of pressing and intensity with long ball being used when needed in our defensive third or to launch an attack. I hope he goes for that mix in the league and not just the attritional style, I believe he will. It helped that all the players were up for it in the Cup, now show that desire in the league to help the manager and get us safe.
  3. That ref is an Aussie. We don't have enough crap already so import it from the other side of the world. I wonder how much MBS pays
  4. I'll be watching from afar and hoping to see the banners of protest proudly displayed for the whole world to see. This game is live everywhere and will have an enormous audience, even though the ko time is awful in the Far East. Great work, many of us are proud of you and your efforts. Another shout out to the work done on the site. I note that the "dislike" option has returned but more importantly, imo, it now takes 2 decisions to like or dislike making accidents in selection nigh impossible, a great improvement especially for those on phones. I often pressed the previous icon by mistake and probably only noticed that half the time. Whilst I do not expect to use the "dislike" option much if at all, on the basis of freedom of opinion, the double tap will hopefully make people think about what they are disliking and if they are reading a post in it's true context and not just jumping to unjust conclusions. It happens, and I know it does. Good work by the backroom team.
  5. I saw Duckett go, then, and I kid you not, just knew what would happen next. I then stopped watching.
  6. Not forgetting gate, TV money and cash from the FA. Finally I don't want a pasting so don't invite one.
  7. Hmmmm, JDT has departed, gone, vanished. What is the feckin point of bringing him up. Well there is one, we are trying to play hoofball with 70%ish of the team unsuited to that style of play. Good luck with that one John.
  8. Why review that. He was plumb out, Pope and Crawley both knew that. A waste of a review.
  9. 5 games, 1 win, 20% win rate, 6 points. And that's doing pretty well? No, it's not. We have to do better to ensure safety. And I'm in a generous mood and giving the Stoke win down to Eustace.
  10. So, Southampton's surge to be in the the top 2 is having a bit of a hiccup. Not exactly unexpected. Thanks Russell, keep up the good work.
  11. It doesn't suit Sammy or Tronstad and makes Dolan and Siggy look more useless than they really are. It doesn't do Moran any favours either.
  12. Hard fought for point. Norwich lacked real threat up front. There are a lot of teams now in this bottom end dogfight but we certainly put the effort in today to make up for lack of quality.
  13. Leave a huge space and then just don't feckin bother trying
  14. Not sure about that, we footy fans are very fickle. There are some who would have welcomed (the Dingle twat) with open arms. Me for one.
  15. Jameson and EFL initiative to promote "sip wisely". Yes, of course that's what Jameson wants.... Ads across the EFL and on Sky "the creative will run across stadium screens, digital boards and video-on-demand across Sky Sports, the EFL and the websites of its 72 members clubs."
  16. 2 years, 1 of which is suspended. Presumably he's on bail pending appeal or something like that. He pledge not guilty but was identified in court as the person responsible and still gets such a non sentence.
