Brereton showed nothing thing for 18 months. Long way for Harry to go to match that yet.

They don't. The problem is that, watching at Ewood, you struggle to actually see what Gallagher does when he is out wide that any half-decent wide player wouldn't do. He doesn't get crosses in, he doesn't beat a man, he doesn't bring people into play with his height, he doesn't particularly excel tracking back and he certainly isn't offering more of a goal threat. What he does do is work reasonably hard, which should be a requisite for any footballer (but isn't unfortunately). He also gives us some height when defending corners and set pieces. Whilst we are winning games it isn't an issue. However you never come off the ground saying Gallagher played very well. He appears to just 'do a job' out wide. Nothing wrong with that, but it is one of the first areas you would look to improve in a transfer window. Yet we didn't.

Stats can be misleading. You have shown..... Games won when Gallagher starts - 34% Games won when Gallagher doesn't start - 66%

There's a generation of Rovers fans under 40 years of age who probably don't appreciate that the play offs can be a dark, dark place.
-
He must get horrendous stick away from home, as I never hear anyone getting on his back at Ewood.
-
Magnificent result with what sounded a solid performance.

Thats the 'budget' argument from last weekend shot to pieces.

Again, sides below us have won at the Valley. They are obviously dangerous but it's disappointing if we don't win.

3 wins in last 20 games and lost home and away to 6th place Preston. They've got some draws against a couple of the top teams, but have also been turned over at home by Huddersfield, Birmingham and Wednesday.

Would you sign Christian Walton
Hasta replied to Prelude's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Boro at home was also a goal he could have done better with. You have removed 'examples' which you say are not his fault, but they are all examples which a better keeper would have saved. Every week within the top top flights there are around 250 to 300 defenders who feature in games. There are only 46 goalkeepers who feature. I can't believe that a better goalkeeper than Walton is not available to us within our budget, and TM's comments at the supporters consultation meeting also seemed to suggest he feels the same'. I wouldn't sign him as I believeI we should be capable of signing somebody better. However he has improved a lot throughout the season. -
Can we agree beforehand that, with us only taking 4 points from the last 3 games, only 14 games remaining and with the top 2 still to come to Ewood, a point on Saturday is not a good result

I thought he did well first half in winning the ball and looking to lay it off. The players around him didn't have Dack's nack of being able to work off him effectively turning his knockdowns did create chances. However in the second half it simply stopped working, as Mowbray alluded to in his interview, and it was right to change it like he did. Graham looked very fed up trudging off but he is still a valuable option we should use more often.

Someone can quote you and then change the text within the quote. See the text added above. Therefore someone could quote you, and then paste somebody else post into the quote box. Not sure why anyone would do that though.

Pretty poor last night.
-
??? I never said I had an argument against you. It's against Mowbray.

So what has Brereton done to warrant repeated chances? He hasn't impressed for either the first team OR the under 23's, which is where the Chapman argument falls down.

Music Blackburn have run out to..

The Final Countdown has been around as a walk on song since the early 90's. Im sure it was the song we ran out to in the Premier League winning season of 94/95? It has had several spells. We tend to go away from it for a year or two and then end up going back to it. It's definitely been the most used song over the last 30 years. -
Not sure we'd be selling but it would be a lot healthier with local support returning plus the floating 'Premier League' fans. I know someone (Man U fan) from Pendle area who has 3 season tickets at Turf Moor because it's relatively cheap to take his family locally to watch Premier League football.

Ignoring his cameos like yesterday where he comes on for the last few minutes, Brereton has featured (either as sub or starting) in over 20 games for Rovers which he has got 20 minutes or more on the pitch. Thats why i said chance after chance. Had a kid come in and performed as he has done he would have been back in the under 23s a long time ago. Peopld say ignore his price tag, but it is clearly the only reason he still gets on the bench and gets any game time. -

I didnt see the Boro game. I did see yesterday, Preston, Huddersfield and those games in our winning run in which he suddenly started games. If plan A wasnt working yesterday, the best option to change it is to put him up top and play off him. He is still far better than SG at holding the ball up and bringing others in to play. Of course Graham needed upgrading, but as we obviously have failed to do so he should be being utilised more. Brereton did play at Bristol City. If i recall most posts said we played well but he was still poor, which was my view too. Chapman has been exiled and told he has tp perform for the under23s, yet Brereton keeps getting put on the bench despite doing nothing for the under23s, even when we have 2 other strikers as subs. -

I don't mind losing to teams which are clearly better than us like yesterday. What I didn't like was starting with a plan that clearly wasn't working unless the plan was to cling for a 0-0. We could easily have switched Armstrong and Gallagher, either for a spell in the first half or at half time. Armstrong was getting very little involvement and Gallagher was ineffective as ever shoved out wide. At least it. might have got us up the pitch a little. However we stayed as we were until the inevitable goal happened and then switched to desperation mode. This season will probably be remember as a season when Graham was past it and on the decline, which is rubbish. He has been isolated on the bench to allow Gallagher to play to justify his purchase. Not sure if Chapman is injured or not, but why he has been stuck in the under23's, and yet Brereton is given chance after chance after chance, despite showing nothing at any level for us, is baffling. When we really needed something different yesterday, we got 4 strikers on the pitch with a hit and hope policy. It may not have made a difference as Fulham were just simply better. However they have lost to Preston, Reading, Hull, Stoke and drawn at Charlton, Luton and Boro so, despite their mega-budget, they obviously have flaws which can be exploited. -

So we defended well. But Fulham controlled the game. Ive not issue with how we started, but surely we at least need to swap Gally and Armstrong at some time long before they inevitably scored. -

Defensively, from front to back, they were excellent. Going forward they didnt create loads but they controlled the game and you always felt if they got in front it was game over. -

Fulham best side at Ewood this season but ridiculous from Mowbray persevering for so long with that starting plan. -

Travis looks generous on bet365 at 14/1 to score, 33/1 to score first and 125/1 to score twice. Without dack, rothwell or holtby surely he will be given some license to get forward in support.
