  1. Sorry to disagree FourLanBlue (and I know I should have posted this on the other Tugs thread) but Tugay is not that creative anymore and IMO should not be in the side. He gives away far to many stray passes and doesnt often play a great forward pass. Everyone remembers the ball he played through for Cole away at Fulham last year but apart from that I can't remember him genuinely creating anything with a bit of magic for a few years now. Whichever message board member said "In thirty years of watching Rovers he is undoubtedly far and away the best creative midfielder I have seen don the blue and white" as quoted on the front page of this site is either Tugay's dad or has been drinking too much Turkish beer. If were talking creative as in creating goals Berkovic was miles better.
  2. Nor does singing about Burnley but that seems to be on your list of not likes. By your logic when we next play Newcastle we wouldn't be able to give any stick to Souness or his team because that would stir them on - Agreed?
  3. Fair enough Jan but how does singing Souness songs support the team and thus try and help us to improve our financial future?
  4. The one gripe I have with Safari is the fact the google search box built into the toolbar only searches Google.com Try as I might I can't find a plug-in or setting to change it so it will only search UK sites through google.co.uk which, when I search for a lot of stuff, is what I use. Apart from that since version 1.2 it's been excellent.
  5. I presumeradio lancashire will be UK only like radio 5 but I can't get neither of them to work for me.
  6. So did I. Thats why I included the Van Nistelrooy incident in my post. However as the Bolton / Charlton incidents were internal issues I don't know if the FA ever got involved. Therefore it should have no bearing on any charges being levelled against Todd.
  7. Have a look at this article. Why don't they include the words thug, animal, disgraceful and hooligan like all the reactions to Todd did. Pay special attention to the line:- Since 1999 (only stats I could find) Todd - 126 app , 23 bookings , 1 sending off , (1 booking every 5.4 games) Lauren - 194 app , 40 bookings , 1 sending off , (1 booking every 4.85 games) Considerably better Edit - remember the digraceful scenes at the end of the game at Old Trafford as couplke of years back. Which player got the biggest punishment. Keown? Viera? No, it was the Angel Lauren. Clicky Clicky But of course, his disciplinary record is considerably better than Todds. Not that I'm bitter!
  8. We're away at birmingham next Saturday and all inidcations are that, contarary to Birminghams wishes, Savage is eligable to play. At what point during next week will Sullivan, Gould, Brady and Bruce start bitching ???
  9. Just watching Football First and the matteo challenge on SWP was definately a pen.
  10. It would have been very interesting to see peoples reactions had we got to the final. £65 would have been ridiculous, especially as we'd sat in the same seats a few weeks before for £45. All the usual suspects would have been on here saying 'but it's the FA cup final , it'll be a disgrace if we don't sell xxxxx ', but there's a limit. Personally I'd probably have gone but it's not far off my limit. £75 I'd have said no way, sat in the pub, spent a tenner on ale, watched it on the TV and have put the other £65 to next years season ticket rather than feeding the fat faces of the FA. I believe its already agreed that as well as the finals the semis will also be hosted at Wembley for the next 5 or 10 years. How long before the average price of a cup final ticket to the public is pushing £100. Swivel.
  11. Why are the BBC blowing up an 'incident' of Savage running off the pitch and bumping into Routledge when there is the most minimal of contact?
  12. Big Club example one Big Club example two If so called experts are split down the middle and fans are split down the middle as to whether or not Todds contact is deliberate surely he has to get the benefit of the doubt. I really hope for our own sake Rovers and Todd fight this.
  13. I can absolutely prove that Todd did not nail Van Persie. Take a look at BBC's virtual replay of the goal here.. If you view the action from Andy Todd's perspective you'll see that he's nowhere near Van persie!!! According to the BBC it was Ryan Nelson all along. However what is even more conclusive is if you watch it from Van Persie's view on 3rd person perspective. If you slow it down and advance a frame at a time you'll see that after he scored he doesn't touch the Rovers player at all. He gets quite close to him and just dives. Cheat. Must have had fake blood in his mouth to make it look worse.
  14. Whereas on 'You're on Sky Sports' last night Steve Claridge said it was completely accidental and Peter Beagrie sat on the fence. I can't see how the FA can charge him when it's so unclear. Well done to the 2 guys that phoned in to Sky to defend Rovers last night.
  15. Same straight after the game at cardiff Central. Train to London had so many coaches I couldn't see the end of it. Train up North had two.
  16. At least for 85 minutes of our semi-final it was still a game. The Mancs had todays match sewn up by half time.
  17. At least Goals On Sunday haven't made a big fuss over it. They genereally said there were some bad tackles - they got booked for them - get on with it.
  18. Back in 1995 we had gone in the space of 4 years from being on our way to the old division 3 to becomming the richest, most progressive club in the land by a long way. We had the best striker in the world up front, a team full of top class internationals and Mark Atkins. Footy was still riding the crest of the bSKYb 'boom' and attendances were rising. We were also challenging for the premier league title. Oh, and they had Jurgen Klinsmann. Thats why we took 3,000. Back to the Arsenal game, the problem in my eyes is we've now been there and done it. Most people went for the Worthy cup final. Had we never been there before I feel sure you could add 8,000 onto our travelling support on saturday. Also this may sound daft but if we win we don't actually win. It's a semi-final and as much as we shall rejoice in the fact that we're in the FA cup final we've not actually won anything. Couple that with horrendous ticket prices, especially for kids, and a ludicrous kick off time and in my eyes it's fairly obvious why we aren't taking many more. Rovers may have a genuine hardcore support of around 10,000 now with the rest being 'casual' fans. These aren't fans that don't care .I'm sure they do. But to them maybe Rovers aren't as high up the priority ladder as they are for the more vociferously critical ones on here. Therefore wiping otr at least a full day of their time (or more if they go down before) and paying travel fee's plus £45 a ticket for what is still only a semi-final is not attractive to the casual fan.
  19. Although they struggled to sell their own tickets the fact that they have done means they probably could shift a few more (especially of the gold-dust like £25 and £35 tickets). We are NOT selling over 20,000 so the FA might as well release a wad of our tickets to the Arse. There won't be a segregation problem as you could leave a few thousand empty between both sets of fans.
  20. I thought that in the league game a few week ago we were nowhere near as physical as we have been. I predict that so as not to play our 'hand' to early and fully expect us to try and kick lumps out of them to throw them off their game. It won't work unfortunately. Rovers 1 - 3 Arsenal
  21. In all the euphoria of an excellent win and performance in the Premier Leagueyesterday let us not forget - The Gap Is Closing ! PMSL
  22. More congrats to Stephen Reid. Ever since he chased the dingle off the pitch at Turf Moor he's been a revelation. Strong, direct and covers every blade of grass he gives the back four protection despite playing in a more advanced role than the other midfielders and is always quick to support the forwards. By all accounts he was having a blinding season at Millwall and had forced his way in and around the Republic squad when we signed him. He's been patient, kept his mouth shut, worked hard and now he's taking his chance. Even when Savage is fit Reid will still be the first central midfielders name on the teamsheet for me.
  23. Yes it is a shambles but i can't help thinking that even if the West Stand would have been opened up we'd only sell maybe 2,000 more maximum because of the extra cheaper tickets. Whether we sell 16,000 or 18,000 it will still be regarded as poor.
  24. More from gamerankings.com It's been added to my amazon wish list!
  25. They're both paying the same. The FA aren't that stupid. Although I'm sure there are loads of restrictions it's worth noting that as of Friday the even the mancs still had 6000 tickets left.
