Popular player tries his best for the club and is instrumental in getting us back to the Championship. Then gets found out to be not good enough at this level and gets nicknamed Smallw*nk by classless fan.
-
Just to put it into perspective, watch Breretons goal from a West Ham point of view. Nuttall gets the ball as the lone striker and they all just stand 5 yards off him and don't go near him.
-
Please tell me he's a left back.
-
At least you will be home in time for the early Premier League kick off.

Depends on cost. Yes unless the BBE season ticket touches £400

Raya Nyambe. Lenihan. Mulgrew. Bell Reed. Smallwood. Bennett Dack. Rothwell Graham Ive not changed the keeper as I have no idea how good or bad Leutwiler is. Unlike the outfield positions you never see him play. I'd let Rothwell roam to either wing as he wishes. Make sure one of Reed / Bennett is always looking to get forward to support when we break. Encourage the full backs to get forward with one of the midfield 3 always aware and filling in as required. Presuming Lenihan is fit, I've gone back to him and Mulgrew as they played together in the early part of the season when's we were in better form. Rodwell feels like he has been the constant during this poor run, although the individual mistakes have rarely been down to him. Chapman should come through 60 minutes for the U23s on Monday and sit on the bench on Saturday.

I'll answer my own question. In the football league this season there has only been 1 other game which has kicked off at 12pm and has not been televised - Blackburn V Leeds. We are the only club out of the football leage clubs who do this. This may be because we are one of the few clubs who can accomodate 7000 away fans, but that wasnt a problem in the premier league. So what is different?
-
I don't get why it is 12pm and not 1pm. That's ridiculously early. There's a big difference to many people between the two. How many other non-televised games do you see kicking off at 12? Rovers think they have covered this releasing a statement that tells us very little.
-
Unless of course we could afford to pay the police more to police the game if we were in the Prem. Even though we are not meant to have to pay police for policing the streets, the only reason I can see for this is that the police say that they either want X amount of pounds or the game kicks off at 1pm. Do we have police within Ewood on matchday?

When we were "shite" in the 80's, we finished 6 times in what was, or would have been, a top 6 play off spot to get in the top flight. Our 'shite' season of 1981, they haven't bettered since 1964. Im all for looking forward, but to suggest we were on a similar level from early 70s to when Jack stepped in is laughable. I was born in 77 and until "loud and proud" night in the late 90s, Preston were one of them plucky local teams we played in the Manx cup.
-
So the reason given for the early kick off time is "due consideration was given to the game being a local derby, previous encounters between the two clubs, the large away allocation and the short distance for thenpreston fans to travel" That's a nothing answer without expanding. All of the above apply to many, many local derbys and yet a lot of them kick off at 3pm. If we even got into the Premier League, would the fixtures against the Manchester or Liverpool clubs have to kick off early. Of ourse not. If they were on TV they could well be 4pm or 5pm.

Say hello boys and girls. Some of you are famous. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/a-draw-would-belting-what-15868218

Chaddy - you and a number of other posters were saying exactly the same thing when Coyle was in his final few months. The reason for not wanting Coyle gone was "who could we possibly get". Mowbray had been jobless for a while at that point and nobody was putting his name forward. Fast forward 2 years and it's deja vu. You don't know who would take the job and some managers are just better fits for some clubs that they were for others. There are plenty of managers who would be interested, and if we are still losing games next season due to poor team selection and poor defensive setup, then another manager could feasibly rectify that fairly quickly. Just to clarify, I'd give TM the summer and next season to keep the progression under his reign going so I'm not calling for it his head. All managers make mistakes and learn. However when you stop progressing, then stagnating or regressing because you don't believe you can do any better is not the right attitude.

I should be in work until midday that morning. I should sort it as it's a local derby but it's irritating. If not, I will stream the inevitable dodgy iFollow coverage from the dodgy sites.
-
Now he's given last years team a chance, I'd give him the summer bring in new faces and next season. However as MattyBlue says, doing a 'great' job is not really fair when thats the only answer that implies you definitely want him to start next season. I'd have "Give him next season" as an option instead of re-assess in the summer. Is that not more or less the same as 'Just-only just"

I do really feel sorry for the kid now. It seems the case for the defence has rested looking at this thread. He looked a different player against Boro yesterday than he did in midweek at Reading but I think that was purely because Reading gave him time and allowed him to start running at them. On form, he shouldn't be anywhere near starting for the first team. He should have gone U23's when he first joined and worked his way through. Putting him in there now will probably break the lad and from next season onwards he'll have been here 12 months so he should be making an impact.
-
Plenty of empty seats yesterday around me in the Blackburn End which are normally taken up by season ticket holders.
-
In the absence of having addressed the situation in January, Williams until the summer.
-
It was a chore going down to Ewood today with the season being over Why would I want to have to bother driving or travelling to Wigan or Blackpool to watch a group of people play football I have no attachment to?
-
Ideally, Bell should only ever be seen again on the wing instead of Conway. Defensively he cannot tackle, close down or control the ball, and he doesn't see danger. People like him because, on the overlap, he's quick and can win a few corner. He can also stretch teams. But a full back needs to first and foremost defend and he can't do it. How many men didn't Berg 'beat' at full back when we won the premier league.
-
There's 3-way temporary lights up and roadworks at the junction of Bolton road and Branch road. If your coming up Branch road towards Ewood they seem to be on red for quite a while
-
He gave his opinion on what he thought the team should be. Most people thought Bell was poor on Wednesday. Why the raised eyebrows emoji? I'd save that for when somebody suddenly decides Williams is shite, having said within the last 6 months that he can play well as cover and is more than capable.

Raya Nyambe. Rodwell. Mulgrew. Brereton Rothwell Travis. Evans. Armstrong Dack Graham
-
Wonder what he's like at left back? ?
-
Ok thanks for explaining. So you don't pick players on form like you said.
