  1. Went to Whitehaven School and sixth form then Bolton Uni. I presume therefore he’s moving closer to “home”
  2. Just jumping slightly off topic but the Dingle at work has now accepted they are probably going down. He's claiming they will only give Rovers 1000 tickets next year and leave the rest of the away area empty as payback for their reduced allocation at Ewood in 2023. "You're not allowed mate. It's a 2000 allocation or 10% of your ground, whichever is lower" "Well you didn't give us 10% of your ground. So of course we can. We're just doing the same as you did." 🤡
  3. 🤣🤣🤣 Blackburn, Leeds, Norwich, Forest, West Ham and Manchester United interested. Ok then. Next.
  4. McGuire probably looks at how Sheff Wedneday ended the season to stay up and thinks "if only I'd not got in that taxi from Sheffield to Blackburn".
  5. Stoke starting from £344
  6. Brereton late on away at West Brom late in the game last season, but that’s the only one I can recall in a long while.
  7. From the outside that appears bonkers.
  8. BBC - Could Palace's Wharton make England's Euros squad?
  9. I've watched a few Palace games since AW went there and they seem to be a good partnership. Wharton just pins the midfield whilst Hughes can get around the pitch more. I agree on last nights viewing Hughes probably caught the eye more, but what I liked in Wharton is that we saw a lot more of the side of his game that was supposedly lacking a little at Rovers. We know given more of the ball what he can do, but we saw a good level of discipline. I still think of Hughes as being the kid that broke through at Derby years ago. Just checked and he's 29 years only and now played approaching 200 games in the Premier League. He's been a good, solid pro without ever being in any kind of discussion for a spot in the national side.
  10. Especially one that already has over 50 appearances in league football. I’m all for loaning players out to gain first team experience, but he already has it.
  11. Whenever I see Rotherham, Rathbone looks pretty poor. I don’t think he’s Championship standard. However when he plays against us he’s like prime Roy Keane.
  12. Wonder how many Sheff Wednesday and QPR fans who wanted their previous managers gone could have named Rohl and Cifuentes? Not many. Therefore how did those respective clubs manage to find managers who did such an excellent job? It’s almost like those clubs had people whose job it was to specifically know more about football coaches than the fans do.
  13. A bit like Dack, it took him a while to find his feet, but once he did it’s been a superb season and a half. He’s in the prime of his career at 28. Without wishing him away, if he’s going to have a crack at the Premier League it probably has to be next season. And if he does good luck to him.
  14. To be fair Leicester did exactly the same as Norwich, and did it infront of their own fans.
  15. Begone horrid season. But fair play to the 11 on the pitch today and the manager.
  16. But everyone told me that we were safe on 49 points, and no way we would go down with 50 points. It was a billion to one or somethings. If we concede here I think we go down.
  17. Bolton sold out within the first hour of going on sale. My mate at work missed out. I presume Barnsley didn’t offer the full end
  18. Excellent article. The Foxestalk article which the 1992 section refers to is also a good read featuring quite a bit of Rovers - https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/topic/132670-the-city-went-absolutely-mental/#comment-7052234
  19. Surely it should at least have been a 2 1/2 year contract which could be reviewed at any point in the event of relegation. That would give the manager security providing they aren't an absolute failure.
  20. Yep. "It's 3-1..... Millwall.... This is it. They've done it. They're in the play offs. Secured". 😃 Sunderland owe us a favour.
