JDT's actions speak louder than words. We desperately needed a goal and another striker last night and he didn't fancy him.

Last night clearly tells me JDT has looked at Telalovic over the 2 weeks he's been here and has him 5th on the striking pecking order. When people say "No signing is made without JDT's approval" I'm starting to doubt if that is fully the case. I suspect it was a case of "you either take this guy or nothing" approaching deadline week.

That’s a common comment from fans of teams we play at Ewood. Everyone can’t underperform, it has to be something we are doing right. Exactly. We lost our shape and our way when we made the 3 substitutions and went without a recognised striker on the pitch. I watched a lot of the game last night and thought Birmingham were unlucky. They seemed to have more chances and dangerous possession. It was a comedy Scott-Dann-like own goal which got Preston back into it. Preston may well be grinding out points as we did early last season which their performances don't really deserve.

Szmodics has to stay where he is. He scores goals by timing his runs well from deep. Having him up top with a defender permanently tight on him won’t suit. A lot of Dacks goals were more classic strikers goals than Sammy gets, and yet up top he was ineffective. You’ve got to rely on either Leonard or Telalavic tomorrow surely.
