  1. If a loaf of bread had increased at £1 a month would that be ok? What about petrol? What about a brand new Ferrari? It’s a nonsense stat. I would, just for comparison, like to know how much a month season tickets have increased since Swaggot came through the door, especially in the riverside.
  2. Are you saying that someone who wants a season ticket now should have been putting a pound a month away since 2009 to afford it? If they had done, how do they afford next years ticket because they won’t have had 15 years to save up for it?
  3. Since 2009 yes it is. It’s more than inflation.
  4. And had it gone up with inflation in that time it would have cost just £280 last season.
  5. In the summer of 2009 were in the same league as we had been for the last few years, had just achieved our worst finish and lowest points total since relegation and had the supposed anti-christ of football Big Sam managing us. So why that summer did we achieve our highes sales ST since 1995? It surely couldn't have been the £100 discount could it?
  6. Maybe don't get too close to the front !
  7. I heard an Italian midfielder said they referred to him as Rice Pudding during the second half as he had gone all soft and had no substance.
  8. He is clearly a very good player, but West Ham could not get hold of the ball for much of that game last night, especially in the first half. It was just constantly coming back at them and whenever Rice got on it he was as guilty as anyone in losing it cheaply. He came more into it the last 20 minutes when his stamina and engine started to show through. The likes of Flitcroft and Sherwood for Rovers always looked limited to outsiders, but when they play for your club you see their true worth. Same with Carrick at United. Not particularly great at much but was a key part of their last glory spell. If Rice goes to a top club and wins things he may elevate himself to a top level.
  9. As @BigUts says, we weren't fickle in 2009 when we got our highest season ticket sales since 1995 purely based on a £100 price drop. We'd been in the same division for several years and had just had a relatively mediocre season.
  10. I'll quote myself. The evidence we have is that last time we cut ST prices our attendances increased to the best they had been since we were Champions of England. And this was on the back of an average season at the time. Therefore 14 years ago, cutting ST costs at Ewood led to a significant increase. In the current era cutting costs at our Lancashire neighbours has also led to a significant increase. 🤷‍♂️
  11. Of course there isn't as of today's era, but in 2009 we reduced prices by £100 and sold 4k+ more. I'm sure the counter argument will be "but that was premier league", but reducing the prices by £100 led to season ticket sales being higher than anything since the summer of 1995. We'd finished 15th in 2008/09 https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/4510423.blackburn-rovers-verge-breaking-season-tickets-sales-record/
  12. I’m torn whether you are being obtuse or trolling here. For those who haven’t seen the graphic / video it’s here. He has taken the price which was available for the cheapest adult season ticket price as of the weekend.
  13. So the graphic is correct. The £242 are slightly restricted views apparently, but are still available and if you are on a tight budget there is an option there for you.
  14. As far as I can see it was the cheapest available adult price at the time it was published, which I believe was yesterday. Therefore Southampton is correct. Preston was also correct at the time of publishing, as was Rovers.
  15. I think that’s an absolute crock of shit. I’ve been going since the late 80s and I never hear anyone say they aren’t going because we aren’t as good as we were in the 90s. What undeniably happened is we lost a lot of fans steadily from the Venkys takeover due to the manner in which they refused to act against the reckless way the club was being run (and by whom). A lot of people stopped going, far more than you would expect following a normal relegation, and once you are out of the habit it is very difficult to get them back. I don’t think thousands would regularly return if Venkys left, but I do believe thousands walked away because of how Venkys / JA / Kean / Etc.. ran the club. I’ve also said before. I don’t know how much the clubs get from iFollow, but every game being streamed is probably costing all Championship clubs a fair number of attendees on match days.
  16. Leicester scored more goals than anyone outside the top 10 so I think the attacking players will be ok. It’s the defensive players that have let them down.
  17. Gary Neville says in injury time “I’m not sure it’s a good idea for Mina to be staying down deliberately because all the referee is going to do is add extra time on.” And that’s the problem. Because he added just 17 seconds on. So it was absolutely spot on for Mina to sit on the deck for almost 50 seconds because referees are incapable of taking action against it. How many times in a season have I whinged about this.
  18. Bournemouth have missed the better chances, but you just get the feeling one way or another Everton will spawn this.
  19. Filan had just won player of the season, and Friedel was remembered for his Liverpool mistake at Old Trafford, so I think we were all a bit short sighted on that one.
  20. Well, you’ve got to hand it to them. Coventry were unlucky 😀😀
  21. If only all games at this level had VAR eh Coventry. Lucky sods.
  22. To be fair, as you’ve said you don’t use social media to follow Rovers it clearly isn’t aimed at you. So to call 9year old kids that probably like it morons is, err, moronic. I don’t think it’s a great video but I know from our own social media at work that you can show the product we actually sell all you want, but you get far better response when you feature actual staff or their pets! I don’t get it, but people don’t get why I miss 5 minutes before half time to get a pint. Each to their own.
  23. He’s probably currently watching Sky Sports thinking FFS.
