Until about 15 my dad took me in the Enclosure. If the current JW BE lower was what used to be the enclosure, what was the JW DE lower known as? I don’t know anyone that ever went in there. -
I've only just noticed that. I presume one price grid was for before the end of the season, and the other grid was for the rest of the summer. There will obviously be a claim your seat deadline before they allow move-arounds, but it makes no sense to hike the prices up higher in June or July as those are the people who are undecided who need persuading. Happy they've brought them down a bit. The only gripe I have is not making the Riverside a more entry-level price point.

Well it was an enjoyable bit of nonsense in the middle of this 2 week drought of proper football.
-
Mitrovic would have done.
-
It’s a booking, but the two bookings for Walker and Shaw for time wasting were bollocks.
-
In which case do it to Norwich, Coventry and Luton.
-
Unless I’ve missed something, the post you quote is talking about the Blackpool allocation at Preston.
-
He seemed to wait about 2 seconds before he pointed to the halfway line for the goal as though he was desperately trying to find a reason to disallow it.
-
Yep. They gave Rovers practically the same allocation as what they were giving Man United and Man City in the premier league (allow a little bit for the netting). As much as we would have loved more tickets, there is no reason at all why they should give us any more tickets when it was their standard allocation and they were always guaranteed to sell out. We only get 2,300 tickets for Huddersfield nowadays since they have split the away stand, but we still offered them the full Darwen End if they could fill it. Why they haven't just put Burnley up in the top tier with 3000 tickets, as we did for most away sides in the Mowbray years, is a surprise. The only reason I can see for putting them in the lower is that they are going to split the stand and put Rovers fans in the other half, but I just can't see the demand for that.

It wasn't just you who caught us in possession at the back. It was common practice early season. I think somewhere since the new year the players have been given permission to 'just hoof it' if they are in danger of losing it in bad positions at the back, so we're not as bad now. Plus, Preston aside, we've always been far more competitive at home. You dominated the game in November but we've put in similar abject performances at Sheff United, Coventry, Rotherham, Luton and Stoke this season. Whilst you played well, you're not the only team to absolutely smash us on their ground. Therefore I do think the game at Ewood will be a far more competitive affair. And yes, you're away record is very good. The point was just that like most sides statistically you just don't win as many away from home. I wouldn't say I strongly fancy us in the game, but I'd more confident of not losing against you at Ewood than I was not losing on Sunday at Brammall Lane.
-
I'll tell you one thing from reading that Burnley site. They are all absolutely 100% convinced they'll come to Ewood and stroll it like they did on their patch. Yet they've failed to win 8 of their 18 games this season and failed to win at Blackpool last time out away.
-
Whilst we're all looking at allocations, Blackpool's allocation is just 2200 at Preston next weekend. What will the reaction on here be if we only get a similar allocation at Deepdale?
-
You literally did say they could do it ‘quite easily’. As I say, it’s harsh but funny.
-
Why would they want to do that? It wouldn’t have been easy, it would have been a pain to organise and would have caused a load of bad feeling shitting on their own fans who had committed to season tickets. Why should they do that for us and not Preston or Sunderland who could also have filled that end. Don’t get me wrong it’s funny, but a bit difficult to justify.
-
I’d be annoyed if I was a Burnley fan and it was correct that this wasn’t on police advice. We could have easily have given them the 3000 in the whole top tier, although I suspect they would still whinge. The funny thing here is that, when we play them next, there’s little they can do as a response as they gave us practically the minimum 2000 allowed by EFL rules anyway so can’t go any lower.

FAC Q/F v Sheffield United (a) - 19/3/23, 12pm K/O

There was one instance in the second half when I was sure we were offside in the build up. Brereton had it on the left and I was thinking "don't cross it yet. Win a corner or get to a second phase of play". It was a bit weird. -

But in reality I don't believe that's what happens. For fear of curtailing a celebration and then being proved wrong, my feeling is they just keep their flag down unless absolutely certain. Same as I now feel that referee's give less penalties in real time than they previously did, instead thinking "VAR will make the call if I am wrong" and therefore don't give it. I'd like to see the stats for this which probably are available. -

No because the linesman is told to keep his flag down if it is close and let VAR handle it. Linemen simply don't flag in the Premier League now unless it is miles off. They rarely flag after the ball goes in unless it was fairly obvious. Had VAR not been in operation, the linesman would have had to make a call and may have put his flag up. -

And without VAR there is a good chance it would have been. -

The games that really choked you

I know. I remember the Chelsea, Palace, Swindon play offs pretty well. But being only 12 at the time of the Palace game I was probably too young for it to have the emotional scarring that it would have done had I been a few years older. The reason I think the Sheff United game I referenced, and the Palace second leg, hurt fans so much as they are games we probably expected us to come through. Sunday's game, by comparison, I always thought was a 60/40 in their favour. -
In order to thank their travelling support, Norwich players are subsiding their fans match tickets for Ewood on Good Friday. Away tickets between £1 to £10. I sense they see this as a key game. https://www.canaries.co.uk/content/blackburn-rovers-tickets-on-sale-at-subsidised-rate
