  1. Agree with this. There's still time for it to be coached out of him, but against Fulham he wriggled free and cut inside from the left wing. There was a ball on to play JRC clear down the right side but he never got his head up at all. He was looking down at the ball with the intention of trying to twist past the next man. He'd done the first difficult bit, he just needed to do the straight forward bit. He needs to watch Rothwell more. He will dart forward past his man and advance us 15 yards up the pitch, but he will then look to move the ball on if his path is blocked.
  2. The gap down to 7th wasn’t though. Even with the games in hand against us we had a buffer. That buffer will be gone by 5pm regardless of what results happen in the Boro and QPR games.
  3. This league table is going to look pretty grim at 5pm.
  4. Still waiting for that other forward of ours to “step up to the plate”. Giles is one footed and has no idea what to do on the right.
  5. JW stand sells Guinness Surger cans for £4.50-ish without the machine required to “Surge” the pint. When you complain they haven’t got a clue what you mean.
  6. They probably think somebody else will step up and stay on the scene, like a sex machine.
  7. It’s amazing when you get a bullshit decision like that in the Taylor V Catterall fight how long it takes to ‘check the judges scorecards’.
  8. Just done a bit of forum surfing. https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/forum/282936/referee-today/#5 Travis will understandably come across as a right cock to opposition fans. 😀😀😀
  9. Not sure what you’re getting at. What do you mean nice try? It’s a seriously alarming stat that over the last 10 games every team in the league have scored more goals than us. Pre-Christmas we were flying, dangerous and Brereton was free-scoring. However we now look badly in need of a goal threat. Fortunately the rock solid defence still looks good and we can generally still control games in general play such as today. But the difference between what got us to become the 3rd highest scorers in the league and where we have been since the turn of the year is alarming. We’ve still got a massive chance of the playoffs but Martonrover is right that it looks like we are now lacking the fire power to win games. Obviously a fully fit Diaz and getting an interested Rothwell back hopefully solves that problem, but at the moment we lack anyone who is showing a goal scorers instinct.
  10. And in the last 10 games, which generally featured the squad we now have to play with, every other team in the division has scored more.
  11. Kaminski Nyambe Wharton Lenihan Pickering Dolan Travis Rothwell Giles Hedges. Khadra
  12. The problem is nowadays they’re not educated right at an early age. It’s all mid-table nothingness or lower league success. By the time I was leaving school I’d gone through 3 play off defeats and the Atkins OG to prepare me for realities of football.
  13. Record ever home defeat. Record number of consecutive games without scoring. Tremendous. Especially as those big-budget Terriers and R’s are only just above us.
  14. Most consecutive games without scoring: 11, Coventry City (Second Division, 1919–20) and Hartlepool United (Third Division, 1992–93)
  15. Huddersfield win. Qpr win.. Sheff United Win. Luton win. Burnley win. What a night.
  16. That's our never-scored right back who is the only person centrally in the box as Rothwell crosses there.
  17. Remember that “who would take a penalty debate” earlier this week ………
  18. I'm all for that. But for strikers and defenders, putting unbloodied kids onto the pitch in big games rarely seems to be Mowbray style. To be fair I've nothing really to draw an opinion on Hedges. I just don't think he'll be the goal-poaching option we desperately need.
  19. I don't think anyone is saying Dack should be playing any significant part in the game. However if we need a goal in the last 5 or so minutes we will end up with some weird attacking formation and sticking balls in the box whenever we can. We saw it at Swansea a couple of games ago. Dack's biggest attribute, for all his technical ability, has been his timing and finding space in the box. If he's played in several under23 games, I'm fairly sure he can physically and mentally cope with a 5 minute cameo. I'd rather the ball dropped to him 8 yards out than Ayala being chucked up top.
  20. That’s one issue. He’s not instinctive enough when he is in the box, nor does he get into the box at the right times. But playing in the role he is asked to means he regularly picks the ball up outside the box in non-central positions. Whereas the other strikers can drive forward, Gallagher simply can’t. Weirdly, he actually was better at it in his first spell.
