  1. Cambridge were direct, and did score the twice they got the ball in the box, but couldn't really get it up the pitch to get us under pressure. Our style of football is very difficult to defend against for lower league sides. They just aren't used to coming across that type of play. That's why we put 4 past Walsall, 5 past Cambridge and 8 past Harrogate this season. I'm surprised a few people I've spoke to seem to think this looks particularly difficult on paper. If you remove the hype it should be fairly comfortable, especially as we know JDT will take it seriously.
  2. And yet he openly admits we turned down more lucrative gambling sponsorships. If you are trying to compete on a level playing field with other team in the Skybet Championship then turning that down is a bit naive in the first place, but then going with Totally Wicked just loses any moral high ground.
  3. Well we signed Ennis 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
  4. I presume it was some kind of rocket fired over the top of the stand. That makes it more dangerous as it could easy have fired into the JW seats. It’s just luck it seems to come down on the pitch. I may be wrong mind. I’m sure they will have it on camera within the ground.
  5. It looked like it was from further back than just outside the riverside The smoke plume looked like it from higher up the hill on the other side of the river.
  6. I take anything any of them say with a pinch of salt.
  7. It looked like it was fired from the hill. There was smoke where it exploded on the pitch but also smoke from the trees behind the Riverside where I presume it was launched. It startled me and I just looked up to see sparks coming down over quite a widespread range. Looked like they might even have gone in the JW lower area from above.
  8. Hope the nobheads who fired the firework got caught. That could have ended up being fired into the Jack walker seats for all they knew. Plus there were plenty of people on the pitch when it went off.
  9. I’ll agree up until the Oldham away debacle he didn’t know how best to set us up.
  10. By the second season back in the championship absolutely. He started setting us up to try and nullify the opposition including weird formations and team selections. In league one he just treated it like we were the better side and let them worry about us.
  11. Yep. And a manager who in that league set us up the get the most out of the players he had and didn’t over complicate things.
  12. I respectfully disagree. This is clearly a contentious one splitting us all right down the middle.
  13. The big part of the reason we bounced back from league one last time was the experience of Mulgrew, Graham, Smallwood, Downing, Conway, Bennett plus buying the leagues best player in Dack. If we were to go down in the next two years I’d worry more about doing a double drop than bouncing back.
  14. And yet he made 42 appearances in what was our best season since relegation. And since we’ve not been playing him we are plummeting like a stone. To say awful is pure hyperbole.
  15. Because he's clever in interviews. See the bus comments. Also, Tomasson was almost mocking of Waggots "our aim is to survive" at the start of the season. Saying along the lines of that may be his aim but we are more ambitious. However he now uses it as "everyone knows our aim is to survive" now that we are doing shite. So knowing that this wouldn't be a popular move, I dont think it's unreasonable to think that he's stretching the truth in his quotes. Even if they are true, as the club captain will be returning to Ewood in he summer (with or without JDT in situ) it's a bit unprofessional to come out and say it. But you are correct I don't know for sure. And in true Rovers style, get ready for the inevitable Tronstadt injury in January.
  16. This. Alarm bells are clanging everywhere. I suspect we will be weaker by the end of January, and then weaker again but filled with potential by September.
  17. Clever soundbite from JDT there.
  18. If Tronstadt and Wharton are so much better, why are we in such a shit run of form and look wide open a lot of the time? I've said for a few weeks that Travis reading of the game is better than those two. There's more to playing midfield than being able to 'take a ball on the half turn'. Travis wasn't a major issue for our 'style of football' last year. It was our lack of goals towards the end of the season which cost us.
  19. So they were aware, but for all of yesterday afternoon and evening their lead story on the website was this - https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/january/03/digital-day-comes-to-ewood-for-cup-fixture-/ which told people the opposite. Fair play for speaking to them, but practically every decision looks like it’s made by a bunch of fucking imbeciles. And Waggots comments on the displays and the legends nights show that the leaders have no idea what’s going on. edit - just seen this entire point is made on the ‘other’ thread about this PR disaster.
  20. I've read it but it is so badly worded I can't understand it.
  21. I didn’t say buy a ticket on the day digitally. I said people who go to the ticket office and buy or collect tickets on the matchday would be excluded. That was the point I made. You then said you would get a ticket on the day and that you would “quite possibly” buy it from the ticket office or collect it. Currently you won’t as it’s not possible. If they do make a u-turn tomorrow then they’re even dumber than we thought, as all evening they’ve had it as their lead story indicating there are no ‘walk-up’ sales.
  22. that’s the whole point. You won’t. You can’t.
  23. Will you go down and buy or collect your ticket from the ticket office as hundreds do on a matchday?
