  1. Red wine is on 2 for £7 in Lidl at the moment. Soften the blow.
  2. Like with modern music and film releases, you have the problem that more than 50% of the people watching it on streams aren't paying for it. However 2018 had the highest cinema admissions in the U.K.since the start of the millennium. That's because, even though you can wait and watch it at home or get a dodgy copy of the latest blockbuster on the internet through various means, going to the cinema is a social leisure experience. If football clubs get it right there will always be a significant market for live sport. Especially as the customer base shows brand loyalty like in few other industries.
  3. Your not worried that they are going to increase prices again and price fans out of wanting to attend Ewood leading to much smaller crowds? You're not worried that potentially a season ticket next year for the BBE could be 25% more expensive than the last time we stepped foot in Ewood ?
  4. He was doing well before injury but he's been poor since he returned.
  5. Let me guess. You saw the teamsheet and didn't bother to risk your £180. 😀😀
  6. It was almost as though he doesn't know how to play centre half.
  7. Yep. The truth is that Mowbray and his staff have just been a bad judge when it comes to spending our budget on some players, and he repeatedly gives players chances to the detriment of the team to try and justify the money spent on them.
  8. 5 unbeaten as well but too many draws.. Looks like their owners seriously want to get in the play offs at least.
  9. I was replying to the suggestion we should release him as he is out of contract.
  10. You don't think Holtby and Johnson have done enough, but you think Bell has?
  11. A lack of attention to the defence in numerous transfer windows is coming home to roost here. I'd rather Douglas at RB than Buckley, but the whole back 4 looks shaky as hell. Dropping Rothwell but retaining Gallagher and bringing back in BB looks like we are picking teams on their transfer values again. Fortunately Birmingham are a perennial mediocre outfit who struggle to score goals so we may get away with it.
  12. I've backed Dimitri Van Den Bergh. Already a major winner this year. He's 22/1 because he is in MVG's quarter of the draw, but MVg has been very beatable this year and if that inflates VDB's price even better.
  13. It said same rules as the nationwide lockdown except for places of worship. So therefore I presume they can.
  14. I said it a couple,of games ago, I'll say it again. Tippy tappy shite with no plan B.
  15. His vision to pick out a pass forward is something we haven't seen in a very long time. I recall Berkovic coming in and having the same ability at this level back in 2001. Difference being this lad is only 17 and has hardly played any professional football.
  16. Mowbrays problem is stubbornness. Even his disciples, sorry, people who think he is doing very well, must surely admit that Gallagher on the wing very rarely bears fruition. Every time he got the ball wide last night it was held up and laid back to whoever was supporting him, thus ending of the impetus of the move. The couple of times he did try to go at the full back he lost it. When Elliot, Nyambe, Dolan or even Brereton get the ball in that position there's a chance we will actually keep the impetus going. Yet it took until the 90th minute before Mowbray decided this wasn't working and brought Dolan on. I'd be amazed if Gally isn't back out there come Saturday.
  17. Not sure I agree. Mowbray set us up fine for how we have played in previous games. However we met a side on Wednesday that let us play in midfield but got men behind the ball and said break us down. We knocked it around well and tried to feed balls into Armstrong in the box but ultimately carved out just the one chance for Armstrong in the first half. The reason Arma kept shooting from 25 yards out is because we created very little any closer to goal than 25 yards because of how well the opposition manager set them up to cope with us. What we then needed was plan B. We didn't have one. That's where I think Mowbray was (and is) lacking. We no longer have the direct ball into Graham option because DG was on the wane, but wasn't replaced and we don't seem to be able to mix it up any differently when required. The one decent 2nd half cross I recall us putting in towards the back post caused panic. At some point Gallagher should have been put up top properly and we should have resorted to putting the ball in the box more direct on Wednesday. Ultimately, that's what Bristol city did and it won them the game. I'd say Mowbray was out-thought in the end.
  18. The goal is frustrating. Douglas could stop the cross. Nyambe could win the header. Ayala could clean it up as it comes across and Williams could maybe be tighter in the scorer. If just one of them happens it stops the goal.
  19. A bit like Cunningham last year, I fear Douglas's best attribute is that he is not Bell.
