The enigmatic Jason Lowe vortex
Silas replied to Bigdoggsteel's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Am I the only person didn't know he was at Salford City? Just glanced up to see him blast one over the bar on Sky. He's only 29. Should be peaking. Had to go his Wiki to check age, and the picture on there is of him behind someone. How anonymous do you have to be that your own personal information page doesn't have you in the foreground. -

Good to see the confidence oozing out the messageboard at the start of the season. I was scared of this match already, reading stuff like this has me terrified. I'm keeping the faith though. I'm going for reverse 2-1 Rovers. With a nervous last 10 mins which will see us clinging on for the first 3 pts of season. (Kaminski to make a few cracking late saves and become an instant hero.) -
?? You win! Sale were big favorites too. After a bit of research I confidently put them in my Sunday ACCA. They weren't the only to team to let me down that day. (Bloody Spurs BTTS for starters).

Losing to the geordies and the Aussies in 24hrs would be the pits. ☹☹

It was theoretically exactly a year ago (1st game of season) the this thread started as Mowbray out. I actually think he's earnt a lot of goodwill since then, done some good stuff, improved the attack and playing style considerably. And if we signed at least 2 competent defenders tomorrow (LB + CB), then I would be fully on board, could see the progression, and he would have flipped me to firmly "Morbray In" in 12 months. Fair play for that. But......if we end this window with no, or extremely poor, defensive additions then I'm going to spontaneously combust. And my anger will be directed at him. And I'd make no apologies for it. He's a handsomely paid manager, operating at a fairly top level in World football, and has highlighted himself for 2 years that this squad needs defenders. It's put up or ship out time. If he doesn't fix this glaringly obvious issue then deserves all the criticism he gets. And the transfer saga's/budget/owner problems don't wash with me. I fail to believe we don't have the resources and structure in place to at least double the effectiveness of that back 4 before the window closes. I mean, you're starting at such a base level to begin with, it would be some feat if any addition failed to improve it.

Might as well translate that into latin and make it our new motto. How long has it been now?! About a decade since Samba and Nelsen left? Perhaps i'm over exaggerating in my rage.

You know he spends all the money on Buckfast right? Tony that is......
-
Come on now, don't kick a man when he's down.

Will give it a try. Then blame you and him if I don't like it. ?

What about a non Karate Kid fan? My mate recommended it to me last night. Told him I hated Karate Kid and found "Daniel san" irritating. He said I would be hooked after 2 episodes. ?

Some clips of Bournemouth tearing West Ham to shreds: ???????

Are you our European scouting network?

? I'll take any In at this point. I reek of desparation.

ETA? Is my night going to be ruined....or my day? ?

Yeah, I think it hurts us all more because we are so desperate for some fresh blood at the back. We're basically the guy dying of thirst crawling across the Sahara desert, and people keep holding cups of water in front of us.......... and then pouring them into the sand. It sucks! But this guy has, I assume, been out of his native country since he was 17, trying to forge a career. (Leicester City youth set up). That's pretty committed stuff. And you do that to try and get to the top. So, if you finally have the chance to play in the top league in the World, you grab it with both hands. Nothing we can do to stop this kind of stuff......other than get back into that top league again ourselves.

This. I usually get all sorts of hurt and disappointment when we lose out on an exciting transfer option. This one is more of a shrug shoulders and move on.
-
Yeah, well, he doesn't help himself with crap like that when there has been glaringly obvious holes in the team that need plugged for years now. Yes, of course don't waste money on inferior players, desperate buys just for the sake of it. That would wash for 1 window, maybe 2. We're getting to 4 and 5 now. If the money is there, then spend it on a stunningly woeful defence....with zero strength in depth. Where might we be if that had been done.
-
Well I truly hope you're right. Cos by the time we get to Xmas/New Year without full fans back, I can't see anyway the authorities can start dishing out sanctions to already crippled clubs. And if we could spend about 10 million this squad could genuinely compete for top 6. Might as well be 210 million in debt, if you're gonna be 200 million anyway, when the possible prize for success is so high.

So, if FFP bit the dust, even if only temporarily - which it must do imo under the current climate otherwise they'll be docking points from half the teams in a league- you would be confident of them opening up the coffers in a substantial way?
-
From top to bottom in terms of competitiveness, I'd argue it's one of the best in the World......across any code. Can't think of anything close, although I know little of some of US sports like NBA, baseball, ice hockey etc. Super Rugby is a tight league where anyone can beat anyone on their day. But it's been won by the same team 3 years on the trot now. So fails that test.

Deft touch.

Aghhhh, gutted for him. 2nd professional start and that happens. Unlucky that.

Same timing i'm guessing. Hence it goes public. But one of the posters more involved with the sport may put me right.
