Hasn't changed for me. Still a really hard start. And lose to Cardiff and West Brom and it's 6 pts from 6 games. That's relegation form. Obviously, win those 2 and it's promotion from. So, I'm chuffed to bits with the last few results. But, we've still a lot to prove. Here's hoping the lads and TM do prove some of us wrong.

Looking forward to them too. Really hope Yarde can do it. To beat Kovelev in his own back yard, would really announce him on the World stage. Campbell is going to get eaten for breakfast unfortunately. Way out his depth I reckon. Fair play to him for taking Loma on though. No one can say he doesn't the cahones.

That's the thing Norbert, her own club has been there recently, so she can't claim ignorance. And this is someone who has worked in football for decades and should surely know her onions. I'm genuinely mystified by those comments. If you use recent player movements. Jack Harrison was a star in the MLS for Viera's New York FC. He's since struggled to make a big impact for 2 Championship clubs (although I think he will come good, only 22). Conversely, Johnny Russell was a decent Champ player for Derby for years. He's gone over to Sporting Kansas and smashed it. Scoring 18 goals in 49 games, winning MLS goal of the week, and MLS player of the week. Yep, sounds like he's jumped 3 levels in standard. I can only assume she was drinking heavily the day she wrote that column.

I think we're gonna need it.

Karen Brady's Sun Column Mrs Brady believes Championship football is 3 levels below the MLS in America. Seriously?! And she paints herself as a fountian of knowledge in the sport. Clearly knows nowt. ".....asking him to leave America's MLS to go to Derby is akin to asking me to leave West Ham and run Crewe."

Mowbray has always appeared to think he's Mourinho. I used to doubt that, but he's turned me, and I'm inclined to agree with him now: •Arrogantly getting angry when being asked perfectly reasonable questions by the press. •Reports of training ground bustups with players. •Shipping goals left, right, and centre. •Failing to score goals and show any attacking flair, despite having players on the books that certainly have that in their locker. •Steadfastly refusing to acknowledge the poor run of form the team has been on for a prolonged period of time, and attempting some Jedi mindtrick to pretend like it isn't happening. •Setting the team up with baffling match day tactics, and then trying to rescue the situation with even more bewildering substitutions. All he needs to do is start jabbing his thumb in the opposing coaches eye socket next match, and the journey is complete. Pair of them are dinosoars from a long forgotten era. They need to jog on and play on an island with Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum!

The Godlike Genius of Charlie Mulgrew

The Wigan fans I've seen online are pretty adamant he will be their 4th in line back up CB. Which kind of smashes that theory. They may be wrong, but at this point I've got to take their word. They know the Wigan team better than me. Will be interesting to see over the next month or two how much game time he gets. -
I get the theory that he's fairly good as a cover player in the squad, but is he really the type of character we need around the club? People talk of footballers needing a rest. The likes of Harry Kane etc have played football pretty much constantly for 2 years now with the World Cup and Nations League. Rodwell has had about 3 of the last 4 years on holiday. He should be the freshest footballer in all 4 divisions. And at his age at the last chance saloon, should have had himself in pre-season training from the start of July. But no, he pissed off the other side of the World on a jolly instead. Tells me all I need to know. No thank you Jack. Take your bags of money and ride off into sunset. I don't think professional sport is for you. Maybe a few rounds of golf with Gareth Bale is more up your street.

The Godlike Genius of Charlie Mulgrew

It's not the assists/goals that worried me DE. Was the goals conceded, clean sheets, win % etc. Think someone on here put up some stats and the difference was huge. Yes, stats can be misleading, and one man doesn't make a team win or lose, but the figures didn't look good for him at all. -

Anyone know where those stats are for Rovers with and without Charlie in defence? Need to bring my Wigan brother-in-law back down to earth, as he appears to believe they've pulled off a major coup. -
Even worse than that, stories coming out tonight that it's being funded by their betting company sponsor. Rooney will be wearing the no. 32 shirt, to advertise gambling website 32red. This deal is starting to stink a bit. It seems like it's basically 3rd party ownership. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/08/06/gambling-lawmaker-criticises-wayne-rooney-given-no-32-derby/amp/

Personally don't think we're doing too bad in the international sports arena. Semi final World Cup football. Semi final Nations League football. Winners World Cup Cricket. I think we'll compete well in the Rugby World Cup. Hopefully, semi or final. If the Aussies do us over in the Ashes I ain't gonna cry too much. Of course I'd love to beat them, but just don't see it happening. Steve Smith is the best Test player in the World and can basically beat us on his own. At this point, I'll be happy to avoid a 4/5 nil pasting. Yeah, yeah losers mentality I know, but you gotta call it as you see it. If we merely compete in the Ashes we've probably overperformed.
-
You spotted this from Mexico right? Which begs the question why are there people in Lancashire that seem to he struggling to notice it? Puzzling.

You're not a fan of the Mowbray Out thread, I see that. No-ones forcing you to be in it. You're welcome to start a positive, Mowbray In thread where some of the good things about the club can be discussed. The promising young players we have, Bradley Johnson's debut etc
-
Although this thread is called "Mowbray Out", it's hardly full of people claiming TM should be immediately sacked is it? It's full of people voicing concerns about the manager, often long held concerns, not just about 1 game of football, but about a a whole load of different areas of the club - recruitment, team sheets, tactics, substitutions etc etc I think most people would accept maybe 10 games or so would probably be a sensible scale to measure this season and the manager. But this thread now exists to continue that ongoing assessment as those games progress. And looking at our fixture list, our squad list, and TM's insistence on doing exactly the same thing week in, week out - I would expect this thread to get very busy over the next few months. I hope I'm wrong though. As I'm sure do most Rovers fans.
-
I see absolutely no signs of that personally, but each to their own.
-
Ah, that makes more sense. Yeah, he should definitely keep his trap shut more often. Empty promises. Someone should teach him the theory of underpromise but overdeliver. Because the reverse is painful as hell.
-
I wouldn't call it a "mistake", more a failure. A mistake would be not trying to get defensive reinforcements. Surely to God he must have tried. It would be madness not to. So he's failed to do the necessary recruitment. Now there could be all sorts of reasons for not getting deals over the line, and I'm sure many excuses are lined up behind the scenes. But failure is failure regardless of any mitigating circumstances. Bosses don't give a crap about reasons, they care about results. And that's in normal business let alone football. And this ain't in a short timespell. He's had 3 windows now since we got promoted from League 1 and it was obvious we'd need to strengthen at the back to compete. That's continuous failure over a prolonged time period. 5 days TM, please make me eat those words.
-
Messy end to the Catalan Warrington match tonight. 3 or 4 players sent from field of play after the 80th min hooter. Bit of a mini riot in the stands as Wire fans clambered up hoarding to fight. All very football. Unlike the rugby fans.
-
As has been said before on this board, one change isn't going to rescue our back 5. If TM thinks it is, then that worries me even more. 3 changes and we might be getting somewhere.
-
Am I missing something Ben? I clicked on it and has us 14th.
-
I won my bet last season with my Wigan brother-in-law for who finished highest. Asked him if he wanted to go again this year - he refused. He thinks they're nailed on for relegation. He's also pretty envious of the signings we've made.
-
Chelsea's 49 loaned out is ridiculous. Pretty much quadruple anyone else. The authorities should be doing something about that. Not sure loan market needs scrapped. Maybe just capped. Any team can only loan out a maximum of 5 or something.
-
Not really, there's one of each. ? See, that's the problem with the transfer thread, too much guesswork, not enough accuracy. If you're gonna come on here releasing exclusives about the 2's and to's then you damn well better be sure you can back it up with evidence. Otherwise, you'll get eaten alive. Must try harder BDS. Get back to your sources and tell them they've given you duff info.
