  1. Not sure about that. I think he is well up there, but I do acknowledge that he stood out amongst a wedge of crap keepers under Venky's.
  2. I agree. If they do the usual bollocks in January, it will create an even bigger stink.
  3. I think he is the best manager we have had, since the takeover from Hell...
  4. You should be more grateful
  5. Or his comments about Eustace are carefully construed to manage the period for which he remains...
  6. At least we had him for 5 seasons before we sold him for a record fee... I was gutted when he left, but Williams and co were so much better at this than The Spiv and his cohorts... Most commentators agree that Wharton was sold on the cheap...
  7. I didn't quite buy it, when I read the piece.
  8. If/when this happens (again), what should be the reaction from the fanbase?
  9. Not sure about that... Financial "fair"play/parachute payments are a double barrier to competition imo...
  10. Weird what sticks in your head. Back in the mid 80's I went for a job interview in Macclesfield and one of the panel asked me what I knew about the town. The first thing that came into my head was that it was the birthplace of Alf Wood, former Shrewsbury Town striker! The old programmes were full of such details on opposition players...
  11. Ah, Boxing Day 1969...the start of the rot....
  12. Just bring him on after the game has finished to lead the celebrations...and, maybe, claim a goal, scored by someone else!
  13. As a counsellor friend used to say, "Stay with the pain!"
  14. The games were within a couple of weeks of each other...and it was over 50 years ago. To make it seem even worse, an 'owd fella making a similar post back then would have been recalling a game in 1922!
  15. So can I... The same with Johnny Price's long distance banger v Bradford from a similar position... Memories!!
  16. From memory, I think it was a different game. The McDougall hand incident was v AFC (lol)Bournemouth and the long distance goal was v Brighton....
  17. The trouble was Jones stayed in goal after he was injured (at 2-0 down I think). Don didn't go in goal until we were 5 -0 down...
  18. Well, I think Eustace and the players are building something special. Meanwhile, this podcast brings me back to the unwanted reality of what is going on in the shadows. The podcast is very good indeed. If only we were a normal club!
  19. Shadow Man-unimpeachable? Name me anyone, who thinks that lol
  20. "Your mate, Pasha"?! You can't have been reading Crimpshire's contributions, if you are writing something like that..
