  1. Wow! One of our group came up with the same thing on Saturday. When we are crying out for goalscorers with BB jet lagged, Dolan struggling with illness and Gallagher, well struggling, why the obvious...er.."reluctance" to play Butterworth? He came from Man Utd, didn't he? What are you thinking?- £100,000 for 5 first team appearances, £5,000 for 62 touches of he ball?...Maybe, he is already on 59 touches...
  2. Vindicate the move? Therein lies the problem for me. In the last nine years, do we think a) players ever been signed to support the current( at the time) team in a genuine push for promotion?....or b)have they been signed merely for future profit?..( while the actual team bobs around between mid to bottom end of the league table......with a series of mediocre/inexperienced managers)
  3. Yep...In Blackpool or Huddersfield...
  4. Quite. I am no qualified surgeon, but even I know that you can't remove an appendix with a rusty spoon!
  5. Yes, he is a good keeper. When he was a Rover, he did many super saves. At the same time, there were too many occasions when his awful howlers gifted the opposition a way back into the game and were experienced like a punch in the solar plexus. However good he is now, we shouldn't pretend those things never happened. To be honest, until recently, this has been a feature of too many Rovers keepers.
  6. Actually, I share your hope/fantasy that life could be so much better with the formula of Venky's backing + competent, Rovers oriented management. However, you really do have to wonder why this backing has gone to waste for so many years and why has there been such a dramatic persistence in appointing under qualified people in so many key positions. That got us relegated twice and has given us such a miserable decade. To dismiss reasonable, justifiable anger and frustration with that as mere " personal dislike of the owners" is just going to alienate people.
  7. Ah, you're wasted on here, mate!
  8. A Because they are honourable people with integrity? B Because there is a big stinking rat beneath the floorboards? C Because losing money hand over fist at Rovers is a convenient strategy for something else? A season ticket to Purgatory!
  9. I thought she came over really well. What a good representation of Blackburn decency in the face of arrogant Utd crap!
  10. Hahaha.. It has been a long ten years, hasn't it.
  11. The so called massive offer to Armstrong...do we believe that? My sense is that the club needed him out for the transfer fee/FFP etc.
  12. I had hoped the thin squad could make it to the international break! We all knew that a couple (more) injuries in defence would really cost us. As for Poveda, it almost looked like deliberate sabotage!
  13. Most people know my feelings about the Raos and the destruction of our beloved club. However, the only thing that is giving me any hope are the rumours -from various sources-that things might be changing. And such messages are coming from others, who have posted similar views to my own as well. Yes, it might be another case of a thousand candles burning for the help that never came, but I am managing to keep an open mind-somehow! Would you mind sending me a private message giving me a hint. If not, no worries... I also understand that Rovers have 15 people employed to "influence" social media, but I stress I don't include you in that group...
  14. K-hod.....Surely, there's room for a bit more nuance than that!
  15. Yes, I know it can be frustrating....but I am sure there are genuine occasions, when a poster wishes to say there is light at the end of the tunnel, but can't-daren't-say too much. IMO, this is very different to ITK status seeking etc that pervades message boards...
  16. United skewed-absolutely!
  17. Quite. In a previous era he would have been long gone to Everton, Palace or Villa etc. He's probably got a get-out clause anyway....
  18. Yes, I thought they could have made more of out of the controversial refereeing decisions.. I was just musing over Cantona, maintaining this "Je ne regrette rien" shite. At the time I remember thinking he was just angry at being sent off. Then there was the provocative combination of Fergie looking away from him in disgust and abuse from the terraces. Suddenly, it was being glorified by the Utd fans and their press into some noble, French campaign against racism...I never did quite buy that lol.
  19. Yeah, we might as well sit back and allow agents to run the whole club...oh, wait a minute.....
  20. Count their chances...we were shit
  21. We were abysmal...They could have had 5 or 6
  22. It is not either or though, is it? The Allardyce days were joyless-hoofball, "throwing" games against the top sides.....but what came after was sickening.
  23. Actually, I was not thinking of the brothers...because I have never had any sense of the Issas giving a damn about Rovers... There are elite businesses operating across Europe with senior people, who love Rovers....
  24. My only hope... The rumour I have been hearing from time to time was that elite business men with Blackburn Rovers interests were making contact with the owners...to work alongside them. On one hand, I was pleased that there was no public letter, fanfare etc because clearly, any successful approach would have to be entirely confidential...On the other hand, no information could mean this has no substance and nothing is going on at all lol The only possible way the current ownership could ever succeed is in partnership with properly skilled business managers with a Rovers concern , visible to all fans... Somehow, I haven't given up hope yet.....(it's the hope that kills ya) Failing that, I want them to sell and to do so quickly...
