  1. Lol...Make them rush and hurry their decision. Then, when they do appoint a flop, it will be the supporters' fault!!
  2. For what it's worth, I was in the away end at Spurs for a League Cup tie about 1993 and there was the unmistakeable sound of the Rovers away support hissing in the direction of the Spurs fans in the section next door. Football and the lowest common denominator etc...A big part of me thinks attention and anti social "status" is the whole aim...and I worry about such behaviour getting any attention/oxygen whatsoever in the press/and from the likes of Jim White and Simon Jordan etc. It only reinforces it...
  3. I quite agree with your point about Johnson false 9...or even being on the pitch, if I am honest. And, yes, we certainly seem to under perform on our own corner and free kick routines. The Rothwell thing is merely another contributory factor. That is my only point...
  4. Director of "various things"
  5. Fair points, well made etc. Just a worrying thought though...Keeping Rothwell was not the preference of the guy, who sees him in training and who is actually charged with picking the team etc. However, it does seem to have been the preference of those who live thousands of miles away. End result: a string of average to shit performances from player manager did not think worth keeping, especially in light of other available options... We only needed a few more miserable points out of so many games.... But, in all honesty, I can't say I know with certainty....
  6. I know he failed his diving test...
  7. Who knows? However, it is not beyond the bounds of possibility for us to have got the extra six points out of all those games...
  8. I think the point is that TM was requesting that the club accept the fee from Bournemouth and use it to support our promotion push. He had little faith in Rothwell and neither did I! At the time, I felt it seemed a reasonable request, although it would have been seen as a PR disaster and depicted as the reason that we failed, had we still done so.
  9. Radio silence..Big gaps in infrastructure...New season starts earlier on 30 July. Maybe, they have been working behind the scenes to ensure we are actually ready by the time the players report back at the end of June....Imagine Bancroft, Keighley, Fox and co behaving like that.. FOV!!!
  10. Actually, it's worse. He didn't just sulk, he claimed it was racism that the club did not allow him to join Mourinho..."it could only have happened to an African player etc"...so.. F.O. Benedict, old chum!
  11. Ah, that old chestnut. Wording this carefully, I did hear rumours that a certain scribe was working very..er..closely with a "wanna buy a watch" merchant from Barnet.....
  12. I do hope you're right, but is this based on anything?
  13. Quite! Compare this to the civilised joint press conference with Bill Fox and Don Mackay at the end of the latter's tenure. As a Rovers fan, I am disgusted...
  14. Quite. I could think of other words, all right!
  15. "canny Venky's"...Discuss lol
