  1. I still love you Droggy!
  2. aah! Dingle moments (sighs....) .....sounds like a new relaxing coffee from Nescafe or something! "Crap life? crap job? crap team?.....then let new creamy Dingle Moments whisk you away into a super league of vast exagerations.........in a cup!"
  3. I think there`s a lot in a name..... That`s why i don`t think Rovers should sign Kevin Imshitatfootballme
  4. I agree, Rovers should easily top Wigan, but it`s alot closer than i thought it would be.....so far. There`s only an average difference of 695 after 4 games. A good or poor run of results for either team could sway it....although i am confident Rovers will win it quite comfortably in the end. I`m keeping the thread up to date, cos i think GAV`s little bet with his mate is of interest to some people on this board......plus it`s just a little something to keep me occupied during the season.
  5. ....After 4 home games each:- Wigan`s average attendance = 19498 (23575 v chelsea 17223 v Sunderland 16641 v Boro 20553 v Notlob TOTAL... 77992) Rovers average attendance = 20193 (16953 v Fulham 22375 v Spurs 20725 v newcastle 20721 v WBA TOTAL...80774) Next home games... Rovers v Brum (22nd Oct) Wigan v Newcastle (15th Oct) both games are 12.45 k/o & will probably be live tv games (which will probably affect gates)
  6. I`m with Roversmum on this one. Any chance of kicking it into touch? It would be appreciated i don`t want to have to disable my signatures, cos i enjoy seeing what people do to customise their posts.....but that`s got to be the worst, most annoying one ever! ....Sorry for being a grumpy old f@rt
  7. Heard an amusing one on the radio last week....aimed at Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink:- "Fat Eddie Murphy, You`re just a fat Eddie Murphy, fat Eddie Murrrr-phy you`re just a fat Eddie Murphy!" Quality!
  8. What`s Top Of The Pops got to do with it??
  9. whilst looking at all the travelling huddersfield fans the other night (about 5000 ish) my mate came up with a thought-provoking comment....."If all those people paid a tenner to come here & a quarter of them were kids paying 3/5 quid, altogether they`d just about cover Craig Bellamy`s wages this week!.....Only another 20-odd players to pay then! " ...puts alot of things into perspective. As for people on here saying "let kids in for free or 3 quid or what-ever....maybe that`s something BRISA could 'champion'.....as alcohol & all day binges shouldn`t be part of the equation??
  10. That is true,it was a poor gate but the league cup is a different beast from the premier league altogether. I know of 3 non-regulars who attended the Huddersfield game. Just imagine what the crowd would`ve been if it had been a full price game?? I`d at least halve it.
  11. Well that`s that then, eh? At least if you don`t try, you won`t get let down. ...as for the 'fear of drunken fans' comment, i think it`s a bit p1ss poor of an excuse. You ask any police force in England what they think of travelling BRFC fans & they`d all probably say the same thing "far from the worst". Most Rovers fans enjoy a beer, some banter & the footy. Asking both clubs to consider dropping their prices for these games is not going put peoples lives at risk nor put each club in jeopardy of plummeting into a cavern of debt. Hopefully it might start a trend of inter-club agreements/deals to keep prices down, tempt lost fans with great offers.....thus putting bums on seats. ....but as you said, somebody might get drunk over the christmas period & spoil it for all of us. Lame excuse

    consider it ingored!
  13. I remember the question "What cause can BRISA as an organisation realistically 'champion'??" at one of the meetings. I think the idea of 'doing a deal' with Wigan & Rovers to make football cheaper & pack out both stadiums is very achievable, newsworthy & would put BRISA on the map. At the end of the day, the chairmen of both clubs have been quoted as saying "football is too expensive & something must be done" Let`s see if they mean what they say by challenging them to do something about it!!
  14. 60 miles each way??
  15. Ozzie Jones said.... That`s easily solved. Lower the prices & more people will be able to afford to attend away games! Rovers have the 'potential' following IF the prices are right. I`d bet that if Wigan offered us £10 a ticket for the game at their gaff, we could easily sell 5000-8000.....or how many tickets they offer us. ....Infact, why doesn`t BRISA approach the club (& Wigan`s own supporters association) & ask them to offer Wigan a deal "Let`s both do a tenner a ticket & a pound for kids" for both games? The 1st meeting (home) isn`t until 31st Dec, so there`s plenty of time for arranging any deal. The away game isn`t until 1st April. It would be a great moral boost for the fans, teams, clubs & BRISA to have a set of local derbies played infront of packed houses. Imagine a 30,000 sell-out game at Ewood, which BRISA can boast, they had a big part in setting up!!????? BRISA??? anybody listening????
  16. I finally managed to get my mate to come down with me (he even brought his daughter, who went int BBE with her school mates)....so i did my bit We went int sparsely populated riverside & changed seats several times. The linesman at the darwen end of the ground ruined the 1st half as a spectacle. He flagged for about 6 offsides & only got one right! We vented our fury at him, to the amusement of several kids infront. Huddersfield had a great support tonight. probably between 5000 & 6000. They repeatedly sang our song (your mums your dad, your dads your mum, you`re interbred, you Lancashire scum)....so it must be catching on! Bellamy played well & could`ve scored a hattrick if it wasn`t for the over-zealous linesman in the 1st half. When Zurab scored, we started singing "Kishivishivishimmmmmumble!" until somebody decided "Zurab! Zurab! Zurab!" was better Don`t know what the attendance was yet, but i`d say only around the 10,000 mark. Anyway, job done......a few goals & into the next round. BRING ON THE BUCCANNEERS!!!!!!
  17. have i started drinking too early??.....
  18. Sorry Theno I do tend to warble on abit. Sundays game cost me £30 in all (& i`m off the beer at the moment!!) My friend & his tribe decided to save the £120+ they would`ve spent on the game & instead opted to splash out £7 (or what-ever it was) to watch it on the box. I`m sure many thousands of other Roverites & geordies did the same thing. To compete with this cheaper (£7) option, Blackburn Rovers knew the game would be a lower attendance than normal, so why not slash the prices to get bums on seats? they`d still get their SKY money anyway.....& maybe sell a few more programmes, pies & beers.
  19. Sorry Aggy, but i cannot agree with you there. Blackburn Rovers is not the 'be all & end all' of peoples lives. I really REALLY hate all this "I`m a better fan than you" 5hit, which appears on this site all too often. I know people who`ve supported Rovers for years, but due to their financial situations, they cannot afford to take the kids to Ewood. It`s a simple choice in some cases.... food, clothes, roof over head.....vs.....90 mins of football??? A wage will only go so far. I would never EVER criticise anybody for not going to a football game, because i don`t know the situatuation they are in.
  20. You can bet they`ll be in full voice though! I`m still trying to get my mate to attend, but it looks like i`ll be on me todd again.
  21. The main reason the Newcastle match had only 20725 on, was that it was 'live' on telly. To be honest, Newcastle`s fans were fantastic, even if they only brought 3-4000 with them (something Rovers wish they could muster). If the game wasn`t on telly, i bet they would have sold all 8000 on offer. Lots of Rovers fans i`ve spoken to said they were going to watch it on telly instead of going down Ewood. My best mate 'jibbed out' & left me to brave it alone, cos "the game was an excuse for all his family to go to his parents, have Sunday lunch & watch the footy (about 6 regular Roverites who stayed away there!)"...can`t say i blame them either! They had a better day than i did aswell! Rovers have simply got to slash the prices, soon...& BIG time!!
  22. Says it all really
  23. ....After 3 home games each:- Wigan`s average attendance = 19146 (23575 v chelsea 17223 v Sunderland 16641 v Boro TOTAL... 57439) Rovers average attendance = 20017 (16953 v Fulham 22375 v Spurs 20725 v newcastle TOTAL...60053) Rovers move into a slim 'average attendance' lead of 871 over our pie-munching neighbours. Rovers next home (league) game is West Brom, Oct 1st Wigan`s next home (league) game is Bolton, Oct 2nd (a potential BIG gate for them)
  24. Verdict: Newcastle....poorest of the 3 visiting teams we`ve had at Ewood so far. Rovers outplayed Newcastle up until the Shearer free kick, then it all went tits up. How we lost 0-3, i`ll never know Today,Rovers couldn`t score in a brothel with a tenner sellotaped to their knobs! ........... On a lighter note. Funniest bit of the day...when Newcastle were doing their pre-game warm-up, a bloke near me at the front of the Riverside shouted "Saunders!! Do you know what you`re doing?" all the Newcastle players were trying to hide their smirks. The guy went on to shout "Alan Shearer! Don`t listen to Saunders, he`s rubbish!!" In all fairness, they all had a laugh about it (even Saunders).
  25. Fife Rover asked.... Bumley is a very small town/village situated just on the Lancashire side of the Lancs/Yorks border. The occupants of this very small town/village are very odd folk called 'Dingles'.Where-as the town itself is in Lancashire, the townsfolk have Yorkshire accents & therefore are classed as such. The people of Bumley want to be known as 'Lancastrians, but the rest of Lancashire doesn`t class them as such....& come to think of it, Yorkshire doesn`t want them either!!
