  1. Excellent result for them on monday against big club b'ham. Still, Rovers 2-1 West Ham.
  2. Vinjay, won obviously werent a Rovers fan back when we were in the 2nd or 3rd tiers of English football. Now im not saying i was, due to my age (18) ive been brought up on premiership football and i used to be somewhat like you. Why cant the walkers just buy everyone, why cant we win the prem again? Relegation changed my outlook on life, and now i am very happy to be a mid-table prem team. We are already punching above our weight, so back the team instead of moaning about investment. It just makes you sound ungrateful and arrogant, how many of the 92 league clubs would like to be in our position? 80+ that should put some perspective on things. As for the gate y'sday, no supprise, whoevers idea it was to put that match as category A+ must be a complete idiot. West Ham will be an ok crowd next week cos it cate B and they will sell a fair few tickets!
  3. The official crowd for that Burnley relay according to East lancs derbies by Dean Hayes was a coupla hundred short of a massive 54,000. Anway, back to the charlton game. Went with a non Rovers supporting mate and he was very impressed by our comeback, thought it was something quite amazing as did i. Thought that the support was pretty good also, cosidering it was south-east London on a wed night in the carling cup (c 1000 there). Superb goal from thommo, but i dont know whether he'd be better suited to central midfield or right midfield. Finally, it was good to hear all the Rovers fans with London accents, must have been about 1/2 the allocation from the voices i heard. Good to see Blackburners who have moved down to London it times of unemployment in the past getting their sons/daughters and grandsons/granddaughters to support the Rovers. It means we will always have a decent support at London away games!
  4. Jeez, another policemen spell checker on the run. It was a typo ffs, and as i wasnt writing a gov report but actually on a blackburn mb, im not gonna be too bothered about my spelling so along as you know what im saying. So p1ss off
  5. Yeh im going to this 1 also, really looking foward to it. Im going out in London afterwards so i hope y'all have fun in Wigan
  6. On the official site it says that around 600 tickets have been pre-sold for the Charlton game and that it WILL be pay on the gate. Tickets are still only £15 for adults so get yourself down to London
  7. Yeah im going, and looking forward to a game that looks far less daunting than it did when the draw was made. Travelling down from my uni here in Stoke-on-Trent (where its currently snowing) for the match and im gonna pay on the gate with London based friends of a friend to help boost our support up. How many tickets have been sold so far, around 500? 2-1 to the Rovers, does anybody know Charlton's policy in this competition. Will it be full strength?
  8. I questioned earlier the idea of having a minute silence at the com and at the New Den. Unfortunaly i was proved right, Leeds and l'pool fans disgracing themselves. What were they saying about 'cisse hows your leg?' RIP BEST
  9. Was that the family that had a kid each supporting Rovers and Arsenal? I think i saw them also. I think there was 5 or 6 in the row in front, but didnt jump up when arsenal scored so there is no prob in my idea. We needed to score while the game was 1-0 before half time or in the first 20 min of the 2nd when it was 2-0 in order to get something out of the game. However, i was a very good performance imo, its not often that a team goes to Highbury and creates more chances than the home team, esp outside of the top 3! I thought that the whole team played pretty well. Emerton could have got at Cygan more, but to be fair he and lucus did have their work cut out with Henry and Reyes operating on that side!! Savage held the mid-field together very well, but Reid was superb. So unlucky not to score, but for once drove forward with real purpose and desire. On a final note, is anybody else questioning why everyone is going on about Bellamy. Now i think he is a superb player but he should have done better y'sday. Yes his movement was excellent and link up play superb, but he had 2 guilt edged chances, the one where he was through in the right hand channel and the header in the 2nd half. We now dont have to play one of the 'big boys' until feb so this is an excellent opportunity to point a fair few points on the board. If we play we do today and finish our chances than we have a good chance of getting to europe!
  10. To be fair to the points made earlier in the thread, on almost every occasion there has been more away fans at the jjb than Ewood Park. We should have a higher crowd by the end of the season, esp as Wigan start to drop away as they loose their next 3 games.
  11. How in God's name is a thread about the bigot brothers at the top of a Blackburn Rovers forum? Yes i know ive just answered and kept it at the top, but you get my point.
  12. Would that be wise at Man City vs L'pool game? 98% would observe it, but what about the few mindless idiots? Anyway RIP Best, long before my time but without doubt the greatest Irish player in the history of football
  13. And im sure that Rangers could do similar pathetic point scoring about how many leauge's theyve won etc. Not that i really care, i hate the bigot filled both of them
  14. Quick question about becoming a member. You know on the address part when you sign up online, should i put my home address or my university address which im currently at, baring in mind i'll be the only family member joing up! Cheers
  15. Has forsell even scored a prem goal yet this season?
  16. To be fair there is still a full 2 weeks of selling time for Everton fans for the game at Ewood from the point you mentioned. With sales on the day, hopefully they will sell around 5,000 tickets. If we can scrape 20,000 together we should see a 25K + crowd
  17. This is the kinda thing which really annoys me. Fair enough, your a City fan, probably the most loyal set of fans in the whole country (ave of 28k in div 2) and if you wanna have a pop at our crowds then thats up to you. However, why do you have to come up with exagerated bullsh!t in order to do so?? Our average crowd was 27,500 the yr after we spent far less than the average Keegan summer, ie the time you would expect the most glory hunters. Last yr we averaged 22k thats a drop of 5000, not the nonsence you talk of 15k. Get real mate
  18. Wigan have a complete sell out for their game against Arsenal on saturday. A record crowd will be there as both the home end and the away end are sold out for the clash. That will see them pull further ahead in the crowd battle!! Its up to us to respond against Everton, but with it being cat A+, i wouldnt hold my breath too much!
  19. The Man City tickets are a bit rubbish arent they? Never been to com stadium before so i was supprised at how poor the tickets look! Rivaling Chelsea for the worst ticket, not even a kick off time lol. There is no info about more tickets being availible online to i would guess thats just a couple of returns which presumably have been snapped up. Good to hear Arsenal selling out to Rovers fans, only 200 left and still 10days+ of sales to go i would guess another sell out! Im on row 10 for Arse!
  20. Cheers for the info Marvin and much of what you say makes sense. However, with what you are saying being true, how come b'ham were allocated 2000 seats, rather than 1 of the options you gave? http://www.blues.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Away...~736294,00.html
  21. Your tryinga tell me we would struggle to sell another 300 tickets for a local game still 10 days away? Our support is crap, but it aint that crap mate. Ive seen about another 50 tickets needed for people on this board and the official 1. With regards to your question, we sold out l'pool away (i dont count restricted view tickets as actual tickets)
  22. Why have B'ham been allocated 2,000 then? Why couldnt we have had that?
  23. Can ask why a larger allocation wasn't taken? Now im not saying we should take the maximum 3,500 or whatever it is, but this is the third yr in a row that we have sold out a similar allocation with a week and a half to go before the match. B'ham have got a 2,000 allocation for the game and wouldnt that have been better, as its always a popular game and we're on a decent run. Or have Rovers just decieded to take minimum allocation at all away grounds, (then again saying that we have more tickets for that local derby at fulham than city! )
  24. So that should see our average dip below Wigan's once more then!
  25. Interesting comments from J.W in the program, highlighting the fact that all our 'high profilr' games are in the 2nd half of the season, manu, ares, chels, l'pool, bolton, man city and Wigan. This coupled with our decent home performances should see a fair few half season tickets sold imo. Hopefully BRISA can have an influence on advertising these and getting a fair few sold!
