  1. Deciding to sponsor a lower division side and deciding to sponsor a PL club are 2 completely different things (even if it is Leeds, and don't forget their relationship with Celtic). Really, how could have it have not played a part in their decision making process? Let's just say that MGP being sold would be an inconvenience for them. So therefore, I believe they will say to Rovers (in a voice just a little louder than any of us are individually capable of): "Please don't sell Pedersen!" Which is, based on the numbers spent for other players in the last few years and the numbers being thrown around for others now, exactly what we should be getting for him if we decide to sell. But let's hope not. No. It's just that the owner who's been giving them all that free money might be becoming bored and/or frustrated by the lack of a European Cup. They're not in danger of doing a Leeds.
  2. Oh good lord, I didn't say there was anything contractual (at least not between Rovers & Bet24 regarding MGP's contract status - There may be something contractual between MGP & Bet24, but whether or not it would have anything to do with where he plays or if such things are legal...........?). But anyone who doesn't seriously believe that MGP's presence on our roster had "a bit to do" with Bet24 deciding to come here in the first place or RoversTV going on the air in Scandinavia doesn't know how to put 2&2 together. Bet24 would be highly agitated by a sale. Whether their input would sway things in such a scenario I will leave for this board's conjecturing. Talk amongst yourselves.
  3. Having seen the interview now I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as it was portrayed to be by the press; who picked out the parts that most sounded like what they wanted to hear. It seems to me that he's: A ) Planning for Intertoto B ) saying basically: "Of course I want to play in the CL you idiots" C ) & that "IF I CAN'T GET IT AT ROVERS, I would like the chance again somewhere else eventually". So for Jack's sake, everybody calm down. The Bellars game is just beginning & at the end of the day there's apparently no recording anywhere of Benni saying that he wants out. As for MGP; remember who his agent is, and don't forget about a little company named Bet24, who would have a great deal to say about any deals involving Gamst. It's the silly season folks, and for the first time in a long time I think we're going to come out winners.
  4. Well, the Radio Rovers interview said all the right things, although it was interesting how it was all edited; you didn't hear Neil's questions.
  5. Never mind, found two that had it. But nobody has an image that's nice and clear damn it!
  6. I think he's already been doing that. I swear; that site might be the funniest Rovers-related thing I've ever seen.
  7. "Salary Drive Seasons" we call them here in the US; and yes, those were his most consistent seasons.
  8. Brad should be given a 10,000/wk raise just for being subjected to tonight's performance from those teammates of his.
  9. Wow.............Brad's been way too busy tonight. We're lucky it's Charlton or we'd be down 3-0.
  10. Chris (Nonda) should have had us up with the header (of course I'm not allowed to say how I saw it; wink, wink, nudge, nudge). A couple of great saves from Big Brad, but Rovers have been the better side overall.
  11. Alright. Look, I thought I said: NO YELLOW . For God's sake Frosty we got relegated in that thing you're posting.
  12. Very interesting. Since Basel comes before Feyenoord I wonder if we'll come up with something useful for both.
  13. Uh,...you weren't making the point clearly, but......anyway....... If what you're saying is true then these people aren't real supporters of the club at all. If it's just about "a beautiful city which is cheap to get too", then why don't they take a trip there this weekend, or sometime next summer, or ......you getting my point yet? Translation: I ain't buying it. This is a sexy tie; one we don't normally find ourselves involved in which, of course; attracts all the part-time supporters like your 16 buddies.
  14. I was actually referring to Rovers supporters as a whole in reference to your comment about selling out the allotment. But since you wanted to be a smart-ass; go ask your 16 buddies what's the single most reason they want to go to this match. Oh gee; I wonder if the answers will be something like: It's a chance to go see Rovers play a sanctioned, counting match against a famous European Cup winning side, from outside our own FA, at their ground.
  15. Confirmation: Regulations of the UEFA Cup 2006/07 - Article 16 UEFA Kit Regulations Colour - Rule 16.03 The home team should always wear the official first-choice kit announced to the UEFA administration on the entry form, unless the teams concerned agree otherwise in due time, in which case details should be submitted to the UEFA Administration in writing. If the referee decides on the spot that the colours of the two teams could lead to confusion, the home club must wear other colours for reasons of practicality............ With all this advance time to consider options, it will be interesting to see if Feyenoord will ask Rovers to arrange for a special kit to allow them to retain their traditional colours. European matches against Premier League clubs are a big deal there I'm sure. I cannot imagine them wanting to wear their blue away kits for a home European match if there was any way to avoid it.
  16. The reason for the interest is that they are a former European Cup winner & we're playing them in a match that counts. It's a sexy tie. Cost and location add spice, but they are not the litigating factor.
  17. Exactly; that's where UEFA & the match officials are going to have a problem. It's going to be the same with their red half & our red kit.
  18. No Yellow!!! Sorry Philipl; but we'll get trounced 4-0 if we use yellow.
  19. Theirs: Ours: Neither one appears to be enough of a clash. So what should a third kit look like? I like the idea of some kind of blue/black combination. Anyone?
  20. We don't want to be in this competition next year.
