  1. Not a chance TM would bring Joao back.
  2. Nope - predicted as much. Would love to be surprised tomorrow but don’t think I will be.
  3. Sounds like goodnight vienna to our transfer window!
  4. 'West Brom have made an approach to Newcastle to take Jacob Murphy on loan until the end of the season, according to Sky sources.' I know they'll likely be able to offer more wages but I'd like to think TM could have a word in his ear if he is available on loan.
  5. Not that I ever believe Nixon but I’ve predicted another duff deadline day all along. It’s Rovers remember.
  6. Physically he's fine but for me he lacks a yard of pace to be a true Premier League player.
  7. Villa really are a weird club. Obviously hellbent on promotion yet strengthen a rival with Hogan. Hope they feck it up again this year (looking likely).
  8. Yep - we love a dud deadline day.
  9. Think we’re also less likely to land Austin than BA. If another Prem team scrapping to stay in the league won’t take Charlie then the likes of Villa, Leeds, Stoke will be all over him - IMO.
  10. The determination to bring in a decent striker - be it BA, Gally, Austin or whoever - would point to a potential change of system you would imagine (should one come off). You certainly couldn’t see BA or Austin warming our bench, while Graham is now, rightly, a firm favourite of TM’s. Let’s see what tomorrow brings (I’m still not holding out much hope other than late night disappointment!).
  11. As I said the other day, when have we ever had a blinding end to a transfer window? You can see it now, we won’t get near a deal for BA and will have a Gally all lined up on deadline day only for Saints not to get a replacement in at the 11th hour.
  12. He cost 'em £15million quid - he won't be far off.
  13. It definitely seems as though Boro would be open to him leaving - even their local rag hinted at that. It's whether i) we have the necessary funds (wages the big issue IMO) and ii) whether he fancies it here.
  14. Rich Sharpe‏ @richsharpe89 #Rovers remain interested in Sam Gallagher (nothing new there, though). Not been a breakthrough as yet, and the possible dealings, both in and out, at Southampton will dictate what happens with him. He doesn't seem to be commenting on Assombalonga - as of yet.
  15. No Chapman announcement yet. Although I'd imagine his medical will probably take yonks given his previous.
  16. As I keep saying, it's not that simple is it when a player has his heart set on breaking into his boyhood club.
  17. Would they have been due compensation, including a sell on fee, should he have left in the summer when his contract was up as he’s only 21? Could be a reason.
  18. Sure I’ve seen many people, including managers, criticising his attitude before, so imagine it would be one that TM would swerve as he’s all about bringing in ‘the right characters’.
  19. I’m confident the V’s would fund the move, but there’s the little issue of Reed himself here. He seems determined to force his way in at the Saints from what I’ve heard, so I think we’ll need to wait for the summer on that one.
  20. I hope we’re not leaving Gally and Britt to our deadline day fax machine, which never seems to operate unless it’s a loan out.
  21. Not a chance he’d be coming to play as a super sub. Regarding my question of suitability to our style of play, I came across this on a Boro forum. He ain’t no Graham replacement by the sounds of things: ‘I think the critics look at other parts of his game and notice certain limitations. His hold up play and touch is very poor, because of this he can't really bring other players into the game with his back to goal. His work rate isn't very good and he's not someone who can run into channels and stretch teams. In my opinion these limitations in his game mean you can't really play him up front on his own. I think you'd get the best out of him playing a very attacking line-up with another striker just in behind him and wingers who can put crosses into the box. The question with Britt is he good enough to lead the line for a team who will challenge for promotion, I'm not sure he is.’
  22. I know you’d look to fit a £15 million pound striker in somewhere - but where does he fit into, firstly our side and secondly, into our style of play? Unless TM is changing formation (personally don’t see that given his success with it) then he has to displace Graham who is the focal point of our side and plays that role expertly. BA is no target man. Perhaps someone who has seen more than I have of him being a fine goal scorer (no arguements there) can elaborate? And for the love of God nobody suggest to play him out wide.
  23. I am a tad excited by the prospect but then I remember - when have we ever had a blinding end of a transfer window under this lot? Deadline days are always the biggest of anti-climaxes for us Rovers fans.
