Continuing a theme of stuff to talk about during these boring and difficult times I started thinking about jay mcevelelys performance away at man united where he played unbelievably well against a good united side and I came away from OT thinking we had a real player in our hands yet he never really produced after that. more of a thread for the older lads who can tell us young ones tales of players we won’t of seen or heard of along these lines. The parsons of the world have any stories of under 21 players who should and didn’t make it for various reasons etc any lee makel fans etc

Eyal berkovic john Curtis lee carsley I know the latter left under a cloud , but they all put in solid performances on a consistent basis and never really get mentioned . Just first three that came to mind david Thompson was another

Never saw him play but heard terrible things of Richard witscghe (however that’s spelt ) not just his ability but had a really divisive attitude. If anyone can remember him ? there have been so many poor players under the venky reign I think it should be pre venkys worst 11 because I could name a squad of 30 post

Rovers best ever Premier League 11

I was only a kid when shearer was playing and he was my idol. Absolutely loved the man. The first few rovers games I went to he was out injured . The only time I saw him play he scored at the Blackburn end....in a black and white shirt. Looking back as an adult I’m devastated I never got the chance to see him in the flesh in a blue and white shirt ? -

I thought the same. When you see footage of people with it on tv it looks far worse than people are making out . -

I went and sat in the kop with my scouse dad dripping in blue and white as a kid. We got beat 2-0 and it was the worst thing I’d done at that point in my nine years on the planet. I got ruined. the only other time I’ve cheered in the away end was at the breeze block when yorke equalised in the 94th minute. I couldn’t control it and I subsequently (and deservedly) got spat on slapped , threw down the steps and ejected happy memories ?.

I’ve get a feeling this season is the one we talk about in a decade saying do you remember the Dack Armstrong times the same way we reminisce about that Rhodes Gestede 40 goal season. Which makes the whole thing even more infuriating

Mowbray has created a happy , harmonious squad but what he is badly failing to do is create a team. we have a bunch of lads , some with ability , some with potential and some who shouldn’t be anywhere near a blue and white shirt that will defend one another on social media but haven’t built any on field relationships through lack of consistency playing together in the same position week in week out. this is resulting in a lack of fluidity and slowing down the game to a snails pace and it’s dull and hard to watch . I still have no idea what our best team is after three years and I don’t even know who plays where best. I couldn’t tell you three or four players best position. It’s shambolic Its been said before and I will say it again the likes of sheff united and Burnley got promoted with the same players and system who knew each other’s game to the point of telepathy. They were organised, difficult to break down and they would fight for everything as a team. They know there role, position And who, what and where there team mates will be doing at all teams creating confidence in the player and the players around them giving an understanding and fluidity to play and all the time creating a team bond and understanding. That is the way you over achieve and have success with a mid table squad of players and budget We really need our players to start forming some on field relationships and that won’t happen whilst Tony is playing champ manager I’m getting fed up of watching these young hard working lads getting shafted week in week out by there boss its almost a coyle like attitude minus the donuts. This isn’t pontins it’s a professional sports club on a separate note why do managers have to completely fail before clubs decide to change them. Why can’t we upgrade managers. I was happy with Matt Derbyshire playing but we still went out and got Santa Cruz which pushed us on another level. I was crying out for Nigel Pearson before he went to Watford and now Neil warnock is available and putting come get me feelers out on tv. Even the most ardent Mowbray supporter would struggle to argue warnock wouldn’t Be an improvement. Clubs improve the playing side all the time why do we have to wait for Mowbray to Be booed out of Ewood before uprgrading our manager ?

You could make that point for half the squad
