Well with only Sunderland and Watford as new grounds left this season I’m gutted I can’t get up to Sunderland tomorrow after arranging everything to do so due to the change in time. How are we supposed to attract good players I.e players of van hecke quality or a replacement for BB aswell as convince our top youth prospects aka Wharton/Phillips to stay for the project when they hear that results arnt the aim and it’s going to take six windows to even get near the aim. why would van hecke and co want to sign to sit around in mid table waiting for it to click, if Wharton and Philips have a break through six months and establish themselves why would they want to hang around when decent clubs start circling. Even if we receive decent fees for them, our wage structure and blase attitude towards results will put off getting the right replacements in and it’s one step forward, two back all the time. Players like the Cb sheff united signed will continue signing for those clubs, as will van hecke or demebele and we will continue to end up with your hirsts and molas of this world. We desperately need a better more cohesive plan than what we are currently doing or at best we will have what we have had throughout the Mowbray tenure and one bad season takes us into a right mess and this scenario is far more likely than getting lucky with a promotion. Brentford was used as an example and we seem to have played with the idea of this model but without any actual conviction of fully being committed to implementing it im just not convinced by any of it whilst hoping I’m wrong
