  1. Dolan is a good player with a good work rate. There doesn't need to be much more of a deeper discussion about it. The final ball will come. Buckley has developed leaps and bounds from where he began and I'd wager Dolan has started at a higher level than JB did in terms of first team football I think Dolan will have a role to play in JDT's squad. I'd hope so anyway, I love the boy
  2. I hate Totally Wicked because the brand is cheap, tacky and the logo a red devil. It isn't in the spirit of Rovers. But they are a national company now - they have shops in Scotland, London, Brum, Sheffield, Leeds etc. I even saw one in Shrewsbury the other day. They are expanding quite quickly
  3. I want to see us linked with some real players not just Scandinavians for the sake of it We need a lot of bodies in imo, a busy few weeks ahead Any whispers?
  4. I don’t follow other clubs managerial searches as closely as I’d follow Rovers. I think it’s important to start with that. Do other clubs go through several rounds of interviews? It seems absolutely insane you’d leave Farke or Carvalhal hanging whilst you waited to interview Warne or Ferguson. If you have either of them two ready to come on board surely you’d go for them? What can an interview demonstrate more than the successes they have had as coaches? I’m at an absolute loss as to how we have ANOTHER week of interviews. I mean for fuck sake. This is not how the real world works, I’m sorry. When you have a target identified you go and get them. That’s how sport works. The rest is just pure waffle and a sound bite to issue to local press to keep the hounds away.
  5. I think I’ll wait until June 6th before I start doomsaying. We were told this is the date they were going to announce them It does seem very odd that Benson retains the role. I understand Johnson, and to an extent Lowe now JB has told of his relationship with Suhail, but what does Benson bring to the table? Any head coach should be allowed to bring their own coaches in. It’s a very odd way of doing things but we shouldn’t expect any different. They have never been normal. It must be pig headed arrogance to still be sticking by their ways of doing things when it is quite clear it does not work. I couldn’t imagine a more frustrating employer.
  6. Totally Wiked is a just a shit brand It’s a shame because macron will no doubt produce a nice kit but have it ruined with that nonsense plastered all over it
  7. At the end of the day Carvalhal has also apparently chosen to go and work in the UAE. A nothing league. It stinks of a lack of ambition. A lot of people seem to have come to the conclusion that this is down to Rovers. But the truth is none of us know what discussions have been had. There are rumours he has been offered £3m+ a year to work there, which is over 3x the amount a Rovers manager will be on. Could it not simply be that Carvalhal wanted a pay day as opposed to some breakdown in the appointment process? I want to reiterate again - he might be going to the UAE. We haven't lost him to a more proactive rival. It's money and money alone that makes professionals go there. I'm not overly bothered - if he'd rather compete for a pathetic league title like that as opposed to work in the most competitive leagues in the world then well done to him. He'll have his payday. We will move on.
  8. Both Farke and Nuno have a promotion on their CV though! I’d much rather them two I think Carvahal is more likely but out of the three I’d have to say I’d want Nuno. Loved at Wolves and they walked the league. Farke is another exceptional coach but doesn’t seem to have it in him to manage a relegation fight. In any case if the three are the “candidates” then we are finally looking in the right pools. All three are good coaches.
  9. I don't want to seem like a doom merchant but I'll believe the positive change when I see it. History tells us that the rug can be pulled at any moment. At the moment it is hearsay. Granted it is nice to see the Developers get their marching orders (well, Waggott is due apparently) but the job is only half done. You need to replace them with better. I will only start believing change is happening when the right people are in right job. Until then I'm still half expecting a serious let down.
  10. You have to be winding me up Nuno had a great season in the Premier League - surely his stock is higher than us? He had a bad do at the cursed Tottenham but you’d think there’s a top division club lined up for him somewhere? Im hoping you are right, but I’d be shocked
  11. Do they need that? These are some seriously rich people. There’s no way they add more to their material wealth through the betting markets to make it worth the millions they put into the Club I am at a loss at the lack of ambition. Did they feel embarrassed when in the Prem? The spotlight is on them more for sure. Or is it just a case of club malaise, left to just function as a portfolio filler that every now and then they show a bit of interest to. They don’t even come to the ground. But they could do, if they only cared a little
  12. We are also still searching for a sporting director. It’s like we are going to be back to square one again. Over 10 years since they came and lessons have not been learnt. They never will. Until we are rid of them this cycle will continue I hope we get a manager with some ambition but something tells me we are in for a dolloper. I think Mowbray made a comment about wanting to work for a club that has the ambition and board room motivation to make the step up to a Premier League club - I took that at the time like a veiled criticism of our owners’ true ambitions. I can find the interview now though. I really do get the impression there’s absolutely no ambition to become a PL club. And I really don’t get why
  13. He definitely isn’t I spent a lot of time defending him after his Coyle season but sometimes it just works for you. He’s been bordering on pathetic ever since
  14. I think we can get a goal here A hard fought 1-0 win
  15. He’s playing Dolan wing back 🤣 Forget about it
  16. When you have Gallagher and JRC down the same side it is useless No depth in this side. It’s a shame for the rest of them. Let down by some bad players
  17. I think Costello has forgotten how to play football to be honest Struggling to remember a worse performance. Not a pass gone to the intended man yet
  18. JRC is really starting to get on my last nerve to be honest First touch leads to a tackle which leads to a yellow card Not good enough - surely that Brown is better
  19. I don’t care but I don’t like him I won’t send him abuse, boo him or talk crap about him constantly but I don’t like him. He was ready to ditch us for our rivals He will never be remembered as fondly as the rest of this squad in my mind, not even close
  20. He wanted to talk to Bournemouth, our rivals, midway through the season. He will never be at the level of the other players of the squad for me. Should the unthinkable happen and we go up he will always taint the squad photo.
  21. But not for Rovers. And Zeefuik has had two games - let’s not forget before that he was dropped by Hertha Berlin and playing for Groningen. Hedges played for Barnsley too. Armstrong didn’t perform for them or Bolton before he came to us. He might turn out to be a nothing player but let’s not write him off already. Different team, different results. It’s the usual way with football.
  22. Neither was Zeefuik until you saw him play …. Twice. Now he’s fantastic.
  23. I think we’ve had a decent window but would have liked another attacker. Shame we missed out on Dembele. Not losing any players is a bonus. Losing Markanday so early is a big loss, you can tell he was the one we wanted and we got him early like everyone wants. People keep forgetting him. Unfortunately in life accidents happen and we couldn’t have foreseen a hamstring injury so early on - although I’m sure some of you will have something to blame Mowbray for there Giles could be a good addition. Khadra has a good delivery and it’s brought us some goals this season so if Giles can contribute with his left it is two good set piece takers. When we are so resolute at the back being able to capitalise on corners / free kicks are huge. We need to stay fit now. 4 big games coming up in Baggies, Sheff Utd, QPR and Fulham. After that we have, on paper, an easier run in with only Bournemouth the worry. I believe.
  24. Which is a damn sight more than you get I would trust what Sharpe has to say over what you have to speculate
