Weller has had two or three purple patches. Those middle three Jam albums, his first three solo albums and his last three. Even if you disregard Jam and Style Council material PW pisses all over Richard Ashcroft by any barometer. To answer that last question I would say yes (assuming you are referring to RA and not PW, because even Noel would concede that he isn’t in Weller’s league as a songwriter)

I like him Gav and really he should have been a superstar but better than Weller? I think not?

I don't think the 50 over format will be around for much longer. Not at World Cup level anyway. With a couple of notable exceptions most games are as dull as ditch water. As for England, Morgan and Plunkett were such important players (and captain) for us in the last world cup and they have never really been replaced. Albeit it was played in English conditions obviously. The T20 will become 'the' world cup and played every two years.

Sounds like he had a heart attack and happened to be in the bath/jacuzzi. Not the most surprising premature death tbh but he battled his demons hard and also tried to help other sufferers. RIP
