Southgate in the stands - assume he’s watching Mount. Step up Bradley! -

Surely Rothwell should have played instead. Odd call going with Conway -

We are very exposed at the back. Conway also looks miles off the pace. -
This is part of the problem, not just in this case but for footballers more generally. It shouldn’t be the club’s responsibility - the players should take some accountability. In the modern game it seems players don’t have any, always someone else’s fault. Dack needs to stop and think very seriously about where he goes from here - does he have the self awareness, intelligence or people around him to do that? He is a very very lucky boy to have the club and Tony supporting him. Let’s hope he realizes that and strives to repay some of that loyalty.

Best Starting Eleven 2018/19 Season
Trinidad Rover replied to Trinidad Rover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yesterday was a wake up call following the good start to the season. The international break should give players time to 'bed in' and therefore I expect a some changes: Raya Nyambe Mulgrew Lenihan Williams Reed Evans Armstrong Dack Rothwell Graham Smallwood: days must be numbered now. Good option to have on the bench to defend a lead Palmer: I don't think Tony is going to play two 'creative' players so Palmer will drop out. Another good bench option Bell: he has been solid but struggled defensively against Bristol. Williams offers a bit more in that respect and I think having just been pumped 4-1 he will come back in Rodwell: Still believe long term he will become a mainstay in the team -
In my only home game last season against Plymouth, watched him cost us two points missing an open net. He will not make it at this level.

Positive news if a bid of £15m was rejected - shows Dack’s new contract doesn’t have a low minimum fee release clause. We’ve been bitten by those before.

It seems all of our business is done for the window. That being the case what do people see as our best starting eleven? My suggestion: Raya Nyambe Mulgrew Lenihan Bell Evans Bennett Palmer Dack Armstrong Brereton Bench: Canadian, Rodwell, Reed, Rothwell, Graham, Davenport, Williams Very tough to leave out Rothwell after his start but that front 4 is very very solid. I also think Rodwell will force his way into the side as the season goes on.

As a Trinidadian based rover I wish Dwight had done more for rovers. Often get chatting to him when he's back on the rock here, he's currently doing his coaching badges in Dubai.... Anyway, I was watching the Venky owned Trinbago Knight Riders here a couple of weeks ago and Dwight was there with his mate Russel Latapy (now he was a player!). He told me Souness was the worst manager he played under - totally old school and a total disciplinarian. Souey got in a fight with him and Dunny in a 5 a side once and tried to break both of their legs. Said Tugay was the most gifted player he ever payed with and Gresko was a total lunatic. They were the days - I loved that team. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/2375067/Round-up-Souness-and-Yorke-clash.html Anyway - I thought Rochina was going to be the next Xavi. Oops. Still wonder what he could have done in a decent side with a decent manager.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/championship-round-up-blackburn-earn-draw-and-close-on-jack-rodwell-8sksmfrhs Looks like Rodwell is a go. Good signing in my opinion - he clearly has ability. Up to Tony and the squad to kick him up the backside and make him realize it.

Besic back to Middlesborough. Does not look like we will be signing Chapman at this stage regardless, but I cant see him getting much first team football at Boro. Shame.
-
Samuel really is poor. No quality in his final ball or decision making.

Decent result - to not lose the first game sets the tone. Onto the next! Can anyone at the game or watch it comment on how Evans played? -
Chapman on the bench for Middlesbrough. Can’t see us signing him at this stage, shame, he has huge potential. Mind you, his agent is probably Trump/Conning/Anderson. Avoid.

Looks like Armstrong will be signing so something along the lines of this: Raya Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Williams Smallwood Evans Bennett Dack Armstrong Graham Subs: Conway, Rothwell, Palmer, Downing, Leutweiler, Samuel, Bell -
Wolves have that covered...

Hello Rovers fans and board members from Trinidad and Tobago. Lifelong Rovers fan, who had a season ticket for 15 years until I left the country for sunnier climes. Looking forward to some good discussion and flying the flag for Rovers in the Caribbean, not too difficult in the land of Dwight Yorke. There are plenty of folk here who keep an eye out for Rovers becasue of that link...
