  1. ......and, he doesn’t plod, he doesn’t gurn , he actually speaks on the touchline....and he doesn’t mention “ journey “ .... “
  2. We could do worse....he’s had no money, made to sell anything of quality and hampered by Ridsdale “ hands on “.....compare this to Mowbray ....
  3. ....and, on North End message board they would be interested in Mowbray !!!!.. OMG 😱
  4. What a shocking line up. If this had been my 4 year tenure/ journey I would be embarrassed...a disgrace Mowbray
  5. Any reasonably run club would now be looking to next season....particularly with the Covid affect... *.asking, mailing, emailing fans about their welfare and their plans for season 21/22... * working to “ clean up “ the stadium * asking for imput on kits * offering reassurance on the future of the club and the academy * making “ can’t resist “ offers on season tickets ( let’s make our community strong again ) * asking for views on what ( or who ) would make them return to Ewood ......and what have we got ? ... Nothing but The Coventry 3 who slouch on the touchline offering neither inspiration nor perspiration They must be praying there will be some brave souls left to walk through the turnstiles ....but, as it stands I really believe that many of us, even the diehard support , will have found other things to fill our Saturdays . Come the reopening Ewood will be a mirror image of its management...tired, dated , devoid of passion, empty....a shell of what it was .....The Mowbray effect ....
  6. We have a pitch we can’t play football on ....and a manager we can’t play football with ......it appears we are to rip up the pitch in May ......go on....dream....and complete this last line.... .
  7. They had the same level of intensity as I had interest....none.....all fashioned by Mowbray
  8. “ take Mark Hughes ? “......I’d take Mark Anthony or even Mark(s) and Spencer over TM .....My post was wishing for an appointment that had legs , credibility and someone who could lift the gloom...with long term plan
  9. ....😳😳....these March minutes have frightened me to death “ the team played well on good pitches “ ” the owners have faith in the management of Mowbray “ ..oh dear.....I do believe that will be over and out for many....it certainly will for me. I will be much better off , mentally, distanced from these charlatans who present themselves like they are competent... it’s a statement too far for me 😡
  10. Hi Chaddy....I like the mentality of the likes of Klopp, Farke, Tuchal, Wagner ....it’s a WE WILL rather than “ we’ll do what we can and go again “ ...ala Tony ......there must be more of them doing their thing in the German leagues ..
  11. Much as I enjoyed Hughes’ time here....for me our last “ proper manager “...I would not rush to have him back. He was of an era..and I believe that era has passed. We are all desperate to see the end of the current regime...it moans, it dumbs down our club, it feeds mediocrity.....we need to look to a hungry , yet to prove himself manager. All appointments are risks , and we have a good track record in those .... For me it’s the foreign market ( particularly German ) or it’s the likes of Crowley( currently unemployed) or ....down the leagues to the likes of Bowyer at Charlton , Jimmy Floyd ( currently working miracles at Burton ) ......even Ian Evatt at Bolton ..nothing but success at Barrow and Bolton..... You might say ...is this a list of how far we, as a club , have fallen.....and it probably is ....but we are in trouble and I am desperate for a way out of the slow, painful decline ......of course, THE answer to our prayers would be Wilder ...but, there’s probably a queue ...and our friends in Pune aren’t even aware of our plight ....never mind the queue
  12. Not sure where to start this morning.....Dack’s injury is devastating for him, and, without being mercenary, financially difficult for us. We , as a club, are at an extremely low ebb due to dereliction of duty by owners and management.....didn’t think it could get any worse than it was...but, it has. Not only is there sympathy being offered , and rightly so, to Dack....large parts of the fan base are lauding Mowbray as “The Father of this family “........it’s surprising how often opportunity comes from adversity and I have the feeling that The Daddy will come out of this well.... *not his fault...last night was all down to the ref and the pitch..... *injuries have derailed his journey... *he is what we need, a man of integrity, at this , our time of need..... * Dolan will continue to buzz in the 9 position The truth is ...we were buggered before the injury...I’m sure Mowbray feels the loss .....as was evident on Sky ...but .... the bigger picture needs to be addressed ....He’s still here, still likely to be here for some time and we will be left with very little of a squad come May. I applaud @darren_rover for his desire for us, as a fan base to unite......and I do live in hope for the future of our club.....but Mowbray and his men really dull that hope....he just has to go if there is to be any actual support post Covid
  13. Did anyone see a leader out there? Did anyone hear a leader out there ? Men against boys, and timid boys at that..... so limited in skill, so limited in football intelligence, so limited in desire.... The team that Tony built.....
  14. We should be all over this one. Wilder is quality. He is everything Mowbray isn’t. He’s brave, he operates without bullshit, he knows a defender when he sees one.....but there is one similarity...they’ve both been in a journey.....but, oops....Wilder’s was from league 2 to The premier league .... what his appointment would do for the town, for the turnstiles ....
  15. Tony is a very lucky lad ....when things couldn’t get much worse his “ main man “ Armstrong, gets injured and forces his hand ....has that happened before ? Evans / Smallwood ? ....so step forward Dolan and Travis ....the question is ....would they have ever stepped forward without being forced? Our current crop of academy graduates is making him look a half decent manager...JRC , Nyambe, Lenihan, Buckley, Travis ,Wharton ....plus the emergence of Pike, Dolan etc .....compare this to what Tony’s signings have brought us.....Ayala, Bell, Douglas, Downing, Johnson, Brererton , Gallagher...and too many duds in his first couple of seasons to mention .I’ll give him credit for Dack and Armstrong...if he were to play them correctly ( even I get a golf swing perfect occasionally...law of averages) Without Jonno formerly, and Billy Barr currently...we would be in one hell of a mess ....I cannot stand his bleatings about bad luck....he must be the luckiest man in the Championship....our luck as fans, has to change at some point...so ...thank you The Academy ...let’s hope more of them get game time ahead of loanees ...and Tony takes his luck back to the North East....just imagine what a half decent manager , with this Academy and the millions this bloke has spent could do for our club?? I Iive in hope ...because when those turnstiles do eventually turn....we could be on the the edge of something good.... these kids that but more experienced ...and a new man driving us to what we can be instead of currently what we are ....
  16. Don’t know whether Tony does Sunday football...but the bloke who was told to learn from Evans and Smallwood has just been outstanding for Fulham against Liverpool...he must have learned well.! ......and, he played centre mid !!!!!
  17. If only Mowbray had played to the strengths of the individuals at his disposal....if only he played them in their natural positions .....today was a bit of a Travis moment ( played him because he had to...no alternative) ... If only we had someone who could assess the true value of skill and positional awareness If only....
  18. Glad of the points.....just as 6 defeats don’t sack him...1 win shouldn’t save him ...
  19. Fast forward to the start of next season...which league will we be in ? ....if and when the gates of Ewood open it might only be then that the length of Mowbray’s time here and the damage done will be measured.... With Mowbray and his back room staff, Championship....empty seats.....an almost empty ground. With Mowbray and his back room staff, League 1 ....empty seats....an almost empty ground Without Mowbray and his back room staff, Championship ......seats taken as hope springs eternal Without Mowbray and his back room staff, League 1 ....seats taken , the start of a new era. We can be a fickle fan base .....we’ve overcome/ become accustomed to the Venkys regime.....but we cannot and will not accept this group of ill equipped men ....” by skill and hard work “ ...I wish
  20. I agree @den...winning games is important...but, it’s more than that for me...I will be on his back until he 1 develops our Cat 1 players ( currently they are hammered into confidence less shells ..or sent on loan to be replaced by inferior bodies 2 admits / or does something about the fact that he is dreadful defensively in his set up and his signings 3 Improves the mental and physical fitness if the squad 4 Shows that he understands and executes systems of play 5 Shows a pride in our club by letting others worry about us instead of us being scared of an opponent’s left back ( meaning changes to our play and personnel) 6 Plays each player to his strength 7 Tells the truth 8 Shows the the fan base a little respect instead of condemning what we feel / say 9 Puts his brain in gear before addressing the current issues with the press It’s not much to ask....I would think a standard job spec for most clubs....and he fails on every point. The damage is vast ...I will be in his back until we recognise our club again
  21. I often agree with your posts but........to have Tony directing anything remotely connected with the first team fill me with dread. I have no room for sentiment....the cut needs to be clean....and soon .
  22. Don’t worry chaps....he’ll be turning more stones on Monday...the best we can hope for is ....he will find one big enough for himself, Venus and Waggott to crawl under ...
