  1. Struggling to defend Lenihan.....totally reckless on Wednesday with his 2 or 3 handball incidents. First yellow today was foolish...again reckless. Warrior he might be ( Tony word ) intelligent, he certainly is not. Will never take us out of the championship
  2. Hope we don’t have to play Ayala. Thought he was extremely poor on Wednesday....he needs to get his body fitter and his mind sharper....it doesn’t seem to matter enough .
  3. With regard to “ The Pears debate”....and who has the better credentials, he or the Greek....neither was the answer when they were signed. They are both perfect examples of poor scouting , panic signings. ....but , for Pears he has much against him... 1 Warnock saw he had little to offer ...got rid. 2 He’s been given a 4 year deal ( scandalous ) 3 He’s not big enough to cope with the physicality of the championship 4 He’s the son of Mowbray’s mate 5 He’s yet another “ Boro lad “ who takes our money but gives us nowt He will have to endure the negative criticism which Rovers fans level at him..............quite wrong.........level it at Mowbray.
  4. Much talk of unfortunate injuries, Covid etc but.....to be honest, even with the return of a number of players ,who has any hope of 3 points on Tuesday? Warnock will outthink Tony, Morsey will outmuscle Holtby, Assombalonga will outjump Lenihan....and what they’ll do with Pears ...I hate to think. He will be bullied ( remember, Warnock dropped him as soon as he was appointed) , but , on a 4 year deal ( scandalous ) he has time to prove his former boss wrong! Ayala ??? ...unfit....another reason why he and Warnock didn’t see. eye to eye. No slow build...he just plays hard men who have to prove their worth every week. We play men who rarely prove their worth every week. But, as Tony says there’s positives...until we KNOW how to defend , as a team.....there are no positives for me . Different week.....same sh.t
  5. .....and , what’s worse... we’ve Tony’s half time words to come ...He’s delusional , yes there’s Covid but when , oh when , is he going to put out a team that knows how to defend? .....and then, there’s his mate’s lad in goal.
  6. We are all aware of Joey Barton’s past! As a young player he made many mistakes and many enemies.....and I , in no way condone his actions. His name has been mentioned at various times on here, in fact, this morning. ....and usually been met with a mix of derision or disgust I would just like to add a little to the pot. I have 2 friends, who currently work with him in his back room team at Fleetwood. Both have worked at Burnley, with Dyche, at Bolton , with too many managers to mention and at North End. Both share the same view......he’s the best manager they have worked for! Why ???????.......he is totally straight will his players and staff......he sets expectations and standards which must be hit........he has a methodical approach to patterns of play......he lives, eats and sleeps Fleetwood......he’s intelligent and he’s hungry.....and finally, he’s modelled himself on a bloke who he believes to be the best he’s ever worked with....Dyche. No doubt there are many good manager qualities missing from this but....take from that what you will. His early days and his Burnley connection will have many on here running from any possible appointment at Ewood .......... ......and then, there’s Tony! Just a thought .
  7. Much comment tonight about the defence and , how our midfield should be set up to protect that defence.....players come in, they get Mobrayed and suddenly, they can’t play. Tactically we are clueless, and this coupled with the fact we have no leaders ( maybe in name but not in deed ) is a major reason why we will make no progress under Mowbray . It’s like watching kids in the playground “ give it me “ ....not over sure what to do with it ....but, “ give it me “ . Venkys have to realise that their money is getting them nowhere.....I just wish they suffered the same depression we do ...Mowbray leaves us stagnating ( or as he puts it “ slow building “ ) .....NO FUTURE
  8. A team is a reflection of its manager......ours is nice, slow, not over intelligent. How any Rovers fan can believe in Mowbray is beyond belief.....never has and never will know how to set up a defence. ......and as for Sam Gallagher ...I feel both sympathy and embarrassment for both him and the club. .....all Mowbray’s doing. Hang your head in shame man .
  9. Known as a critic of Mowbray...but, a great result ! Round pegs in round holes, positive approach , front foot .....all we’ve ever wanted!
  10. There is a long way to go , but , until we develop a winning mentality it will be even longer. Successful teams are often images of their management . ...we all know who they are. ..our team isn’t successful as it too plays in the image of its management. That , I believe, is where our problem lies....and nowhere else. Mowbray is a decent bloke... but has he ever shown steel or intellect ? He says says the right things ...but does he ever do them? He has an eye for attacking talent ( not always! ) ....but does he play to their strengths? He played all of his career as a centre back...but has he ever successfully organised one as a manager ? Currently, we have “ no men , no leaders “ on the field. We have some decent levels of skill but it is unharnessed. We have players who sometimes turn up, sometimes don’t ....poor body language, little, if any collective responsibility. The deadline day signings , initially, gave me hope ....and that hope might turn to reality. ....but.... until we develop strength of character, winning mentality and steel on a consistent level .....it will remain that long season . They look miserable, they shuffle and they play without plan......as I said ....teams are images of their management. I don’t think , for one moment that Mowbray won’t try to instil the necessaries....I just think he can’t.
  11. Well Tony....I have been one of your most fierce critics. This window looks like it’s been the best in years.....you have cracking pegs already at the club....and this week some very exciting new pegs have arrived. All you need to do is put them in the right holes ...... if you can....we will all be with you !
  12. I have been a fierce critic of Mowbray...round pegs in square holes.... today the pegs aligned....and, he let the opposition worry about us ???? Unheard of ...long may it continue
  13. Dear, dear......what has Nyambe to do to retain his place ? I would love to think this is some super tactic from Mowbray which will yield fruit ......but it is nothing more than Mowbray at his tactical worst. Surely , Nyambe won’t hang around here......too good for Mowbray....he will be a big loss for us .If it’s injury I stand corrected.....if it’s not ???? Just hope we get 3 points today ....or Tony and Co need to walk
  14. Pleased to hear that defenders are coming...Ayala just has to be an improvement on what we have .....just a little niggle for me though...... My neighbour has strong connections with Boro, was once on their books, NW scout for them about 15 years ago...his info on Ayala 1 He really can play ( when fit ) 2 He was the start of the fall out with Karanka ( wouldn’t play ) 3 “ Had words “ with Warnock...... 4 Misses many matches ...not always apparent why 5 Sold his house in Yarm , North Yorks... to buy one in Hertfordshire....rather a lengthy commute ? .....but.... let’s hope !
  15. This will not go down well ! ...however, I’ve just listened to Paul Cook for 5 minutes on Sky ( before Ipswich / Wigan game )....deep breath.......I heard more football sense, more passion , more “ I know a player when I see one “ , more talk of pride in playing for football club than I’ve ever heard from Mowbray . Just look at his signings over the past couple of seasons, what he paid for them how they performed and the money they would have gone for had it not been administration...no fault of his I know this will be a dreadful post to many but.....he’s available and Mowbray’s here.....you do the thinking on that one
  16. .....THE sad fact is......HE CANNOT SORT THE DEFENCE ....never has, never will
  17. How many more times do we need concede 3 ? Mowbray will blame Dolan for the loss of possession....but what did those behind him do to reduce the opportunity to score ?? .....absolutely nothing. Im at the stage where I cannot bear to hear Mowbray’s voice as he trots out more and more garbage. He SIMPLY CANNOT SET UP A DEFENCE......Look at Celtic, look at Coventry ......It makes no difference ...even IF defenders arrive ...he will fail them as he fails us. .....we need more than defenders...we need Mowbray gone
  18. Here’s to you Steve Waggott! ( sung to tune of Waltzing Mathilda ) Once a jolly “Swag”man Knew what he wanted all along To meet up with his old mate Tony Mowbree ...and they sat, and they watched a and they waited Far, far far too long... ” We’ll sign what we can, mate..as long as they’re free.” Swagman and Tony, Swagman and Tony Now’s the time to leave us....and set Ewood free I’m singing and I’m humming ...cause defenders might be coming Messrs Mowbray and Waggott ......just “ Let it be”.....
  19. Last sentence is spot on....” He looks a tired manager and it rubs off on the squad”!!! Everything about Mr Mowbray is “tired” ....the speed of speech, the speed of thought , his touchline body language....just no inspiration....and how often , after the half time “ speech “ do the players take the field and look and move like Mr Mowbray??? .....and as for his speed with regard to transfer windows ( 7 )......we’re going to be waiting a bloody long time for these “ defenders to come “ ..... as for Waggott’s speed of thought and decision making ....??? Tough time to be a Rover .....they say , “ it’s the hope that kills ya “......no hope for me at the moment
  20. I acknowledge development in Dack and Armstrong...could there have been further development in Armstrong had he been played correctly at the start of his time at Ewood...? ...who knows? The academy graduates are doing well...but they are often singled out for Mowbray criticism...eg, Nyambe , Raya , Travis . Hopefully JRC , Dolan, Vale , Buckley will be given appropriate game time in their positions...and not hung out today like others mentioned. Senior pros seem to avoid this ! As you can see....my beef is with a very uninspiring man, Mr Mowbray ( touchline body language, half time team talks ) and the CEO ... ( club shop ? condition of the pitch ?season tickets sale ?) Im not asking for the earth...I’m looking for some communication, some inspiration and some hope ....none of those things cost money!
  21. My concern is slightly different. I know money and contracts are major issues but.....either you or your agent arrives at Brockhall....or it’s virtual ......you listen to Waggott or Mowbray or both......they give their “ vision “ ...they “ excite” you with where you will be playing ..they trot out their examples of previous successful signings...Brereton, Gallagher, Harper, Palmer , Payne , Chapman ..... ” Sign here son “ .......I don’t think so . Whilst these two characters remain at the helm was a are in a tough place .
  22. Couldn’t agree more! Mowbray would not inspire me in any way , shape or form. Armstrong looked like his son today ....miserable, not involved, can’t be arsed ...don’t think either man is over bright ...but they get well paid to do a job for this club . ....and, if they’re miserable....how the bloody hell do they think we feel !
  23. Thought Armstrong looked very miserable.....probably not happy with Mowbray’s line up / setup . As one of the more “ senior “ players his attitude is questionable.....negativity in a dressing room is bad news .....needs to do a bit of growing up . He looked less than chuffed with JRC’s equaliser. Hopefully, his head is not at St James’ Park .
  24. This is the product of Tony’s “ slow build “......his transfer dealings are woeful ?
