  1. I think we all saw the reality the other week when he had that chance one on one with the Doncaster keeper, but completely fluffed it. A hungry and confident player would have buried it and laughed at the keeper going the wrong way. It isn't Buckley's fault that many of the opposition players he is pitted against (either in or out of positon) are built (comparatively) like brick shithouses, but he doesn't seem to have the guile to leave them on their arse either, instead just fluttering around, losing the ball or having it taken off him like a schoolkid, or even just bouncing off them like flotsam. The upshot is he either needs to demonstrate his quality whenever given the chance, or accept that he is on a one way slide to football oblivion under present management. If I was him, I'd be pressing for a move, as it seems clear that no-one on the management / coaching side seems to know how to get the best out of him.
  2. If this is going to happen, Mowbray will have to be sent PACKING - doesn't he know we are a sandwich short of a picnic AT THE BACK.... It is either shockingly stupid journalism, some no-note on a wind up, or more evidence that TM has his head up his arse. *(could be all three, I suppose).
  3. That pitch is not going to miraculously recover any time soon either, so there may well be the real prospect of having more games fall victim to the neglect of Jack's legacy.. Can the club be censured by the FA for this ridiculous state of affairs? Someone's knackers need putting in a vice for this...
  4. NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo! The revenge of the killer pom poms..
  5. It is always darkest before the dawn 🤔
  6. Right oh lads, handbags down about my defender is better than your defender... any transfer news??
  7. This has Mowbray pulls rabbit out of that written all over it, with the boys putting in a coherent and well drilled performance that causes the usual temporary amnesia amongst the rovers-tinted spectacle brigade... Not looking forward to this, whatever the result.. how crap is that?!
  8. Yes, if he'd smashed home that big chance he had against Doncaster, rather than wimping out, that might have gone some way to filling my convincer..
  9. I've never seen someone managing a football team look so disinterested, so disconnected as TM looked throughout today's game. It was insulting to the fan base, and don't even get me started with the weird tactical drivel served up as a team performance today. Time to go TM.. Like a Boss Fall on your sword, mate.
  10. Fixed the start of that second paragraph for you. As for Lenihan being a much better defender than he shows, I think that if this was the case, he'd be showing it regularly on the pitch - but he isn't. We need to bring in some defensive recruits - calibre of Keeley, Fazackerly, Hendry, Amoruso (sorry my brain fart) Moran, The Axe - do these type of players even exist in the game anymore? Well, if the scouting network and 'professional' football management at the club don't know, then it doesn't bode well. Even someone along the lines of Andre Ooijer who could do a job both in central defence and midfield would be an asset. Are there any real men left in the game? If not, where the hell have they all gone??
  11. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Oh you've got it...you got it BAAAADDD!! 😂😂😂
  12. Wasn't there a bus in the 70s that had the slogan, "Bring a Friend and Double the Attendance!" on it? On a completely unrelated note, but prompted by the Rovers Lottery ad above, my older brother won £1000 on the Rovers Lotto (a massive sum back then!) and was presented with his prize by Gordon Lee at Ewood. (probably one of the worst things that could have happened to an 18 year old, mind... - winning the money, not meeting Gordon Lee!!)
  13. I see there is a locally based nut job suddenly available for the (yet to be vacated)TM role who would take a very different approach with our players.. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/jan/04/joey-barton-leaves-role-as-fleetwood-town-manager Go on then, all together now... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
  14. Well, if there is one thing that I'm sure about, it is that Noel Brotherston was no clown and the only scaring of others that he did was with his wing-wizardry!
  15. rovers under pressure here. Need to ride this out and get up the other end..
  16. Sadly, it is beyond this manager to get a 65% win rate out of these players. It has already been said that we'd need at least 45 more points to get into the playoffs, and even with the best will in the world, a fair amount of luck, and an astonishing turnaround in form, we just aren't going to build that kind of momentum. Which means, to all intents and purposes, that the rest of the season is a dead rubber - we the fans know it, the players know it, the manager knows it. And what, exactly, does that knowledge do to motivation in each of those camps? Don't get me wrong - I always want Rovers to win. I always want the players to give 100% for the shirt, I always want to bask in that warm glow that comes from seeing the Rovers prevail. It's just it feels a little hollow when the reality is that it will count for nothing in the end this season, despite the optimism we all had when we were scoring for fun and seemed to have a plan on the pitch. Je suis desole. Cheers for your first post though!
  17. Thanks Herbie - brought tears to my eyes did that! What a wonderful day and captured so well in that footage. When will we see the like again? When will we see the like, again?
  18. Heads in the sand this lot. Makes you wonder what the real agenda for the club is...and it certainly doesn't seem to be 'respecting the legacy of Jack Walker and the proud traditions of one of the Football League's founder members' (remember? - that soundbite from the incoming Pune crew all those years ago). Heads in sand has the same effect as holding someone's head underwater - fairly quickly it becomes a struggle for survival and a loss of any focus on the realities other than the next gulp of air.. Maybe you should block him on paying any attention to this shit-show until these arrogant soda feck off. Mind you, what did you say to him, as a matter of interest?
  19. Bellamy and Hughes. Now theres a thought!
  20. We all know the script... roaring out of the stocks at kick off, plenty of tippy tappy possession and appearance of slight goal threat... followed by some back-line buffoonery and conceding of a ridiculous and shocking goal. Birmingham Big Club will be smarting from Shrek's smash and grab, whilst Rovers are in disarray with no direction and no plan. Despite big Tone needing a result, we will capitulate and allow their manager some respite, whilst entering New Year on a complete downer for the Rovers fans. I wish it wasn't so, but we all know we are a soft touch for sides needing a result. Going 2-1 Birmingham for this one, based on the hapless showing at Huddersfield the other night. Taxi for Tony please...
  21. It looks like any other season under TM, with disappointment the only thing being served monotonously and in spades. No noises from the club about the obvious need to shore up a leaky (as ever) defence, so it is likely the rinse and repeat cycle is firmly entrenched until there is a change of management. No surprise that no-one has the appetite to put together a preview for Brum on Saturday. The patternometer says we will win. Not sure I give a toss at the moment.
  22. Is there a tweet that can be retweeted, or should we all do our own?
  23. I think the proof of this particular pudding is in the body language and behaviour exhibited by TM: 1) Body language - sits with his head in his hands or looking down at the floor for large portions of each game, as far as can be seen from coverage - not what you'd expect from someone confident in their ability or happy with the results 2) Behaviour - long term and inexplicable insistence on not sorting out the defence; absolutely no engagement with the team during the game; insistence on players in positions that are neither familiar nor comfortable for them; bizarre and frankly inept substitutions that anyone else watching from the outside (including the opposition!) can see are miles away from having any clear positive impact on the game(s) we are in; complete disconnect from reality in his press interactions; tactics and formation - even a rank amateur like me can see that there is no plan, no awareness of what is supposed to be happening on the pitch - the players don't know what they are doing Conclusion? To all intents and purposes TM has LOST THE PLOT We need a poll on here now, and we need to get on to the local rag, the radio and invade the Facebook ragbag and get the message out that it is now 'TAXI TIME for TONY' TAKE HIM AWAY!
