Our player of the season is not good enough? I would suggest that it is others in the team that are not good enough way before him. There is always an upgrade to any player but I would suggest you could put Ronaldo up front and we would get nowhere if we do not improve more pressing positions. We showed last season that we can score three and still not be confident of coming away with the points. How many leads did we let slip? Investment needs putting into the back line long before we consider a replacement for our POTY. I would argue that if we had spent BB's money on a quality CB, LB and possibly keeper, we would have finished in (or at least much closer to the playoffs this season). DG is not the problem so not sure why this poster is calling him average. If he is average, it says a lot about the rest of them team considering he was overwhelmingly the standout player for most last season. He will need replacing at some point as age catches up but that's why we bought BB apparently. We also have AA, Nuttal and Samuel (if desperate) for that position next season. Fix defence first, bring in a CM replacements for Reed/Smallwood and then you can possibly look at another striker.

Downing was decent, about ten years ago. This would just smack as another retirement contract for a player that has no desire or legs left.
-
Downing, no - have we not learnt? We want players that can push us into top six, not players that the top six wouldn't touch.
-
Derby for me, Lampard will be found out dramatically in the PL - he barely made top six in the Championship. Also, want to see Villa have no choice but to fall in line with their spending next season.

Beranhio has an awful attitude which started once the Tottenham interest popped up - started to believe his own hype and it has ultimately ruined his career in my opinion.

Other Football League 2018/19

Fans really rate McGeogh but seemingly the manager doesnt for whatever reason. Fans reckon he will be off. McLaughlin is too good for L1 . Mcgeogh was identified by Ross to be ourfirst choice midfielder this season and yet has barely featured and wasnt even on the bench today . He is the only one of our midfielders capable of dictating the play and yet Ross didnt trust him..why would he stay..he will go back north -

Splits fans, some blame the midfield for not giving him the right service while others say it look like he doesnt want to be there. They reckon he never wanted to come but 4 million was too good to refuse for Wigan. -

On a side note, Charlton coming up is probably better for us anyway. They are going to lose Aribo, probably Bauer and their loan signings will be going back. Think they will struggle next season in the Championship tbh. -

Their lowest finish in the league structure for more than 60 years and the first time ever they will be playing two consecutive seasons in division 3. Lots of anger being directed at the manager who apparently claimed he would get them promoted this season and a poor January transfer window which saw them lose Maja for free and replaced him with Grgg for 4 million who has been dire. A lot of what they write on there is similar to what is here really. No pace in the side, no height, two crab like midfielders with no mobility, they have an attacking midfielder playing as RB and their negative manager always tries to protect a lead instead of going for it. They are royally pissed that after being gifted a goal by Charlton that they didnt go for a shoot on sight tactic straight after as the Charlton keeper looked a bag of nerves after the own goal and instead tried to protect the lead once again. -

Craig Conway - (Not getting a) New contract

Get him on the coaching staff. Past his best but he has given a lot to this football club over the years - one bright spark among some of our darker days. -
Fernerbache and Celtic can obviously offer Champions League football but dont think any of them can offer much more in wages than what we can.

2018/19 Season Reviews/Conclusions
JacknOry replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
So with the same players that we had in the Championship season we got relegated on a record points haul and by GD, before, have now learned alot about the same league as if its the first time they have been there? Dack, Rothwell, Travis and Bell are the only ones that might have learned (the latter i am not so sure). -
Jermaine Jones wasnt bad.

Seems to be modelling himself on Connor McGregor. Yes, I would imagine he is not exactly TM's cup of tea.
-
Rumour has it that this thread could equal the Brexit thread on pages before we make a signing.

2018/19 Season Review - Scatter Graphics

Just shows that if we sort our defence out - we should be one of the better teams in the division. Over to you TM. -
Absolutely and for 7 mil I think we could have got him - what did he go for in the end? I think he was always going to go to a more established Champs side no matter what anyway.
-
Are they allowed to touch the bar?

Wouldn't be a transfer window thread if Madison wasn't mentioned. Like others, a little bewildered he wasnt snapped up by anyone last season as it was him, Marriot and Edwards of theirs that were seen as nailed on to go to the Championship. The other two made it but nobody went for him despite an obviously good record down there. Must have a bit of a billy big balls attitude. On that note, wouldnt be against going back for Gwion Edwards now that he is back where he started - though admittedly, this is based on nothing more than he always seems to play well against us. Think he can play lb/wb as well.

It is but whenever I mention my age when playing an online game, its amazing how many kids suddenly start piping up about how I must be some loser for playing games at my age. I have no life apparently. Always been a gamer - heck, was playing games long before your sega master systems and nintendos let along your playstations and xbox's. Only problem is I cannot play nearly as much as I would like, literally just a few hours on the weekends these days.

Apparently Brentfords GK coach has worked with Raya before. Also sounds like he speaks little English so they want a Spanish speaking keeper.
-
Mixed views - he has potential but we do probably need somebody better between the sticks at this given time. Depends on the fee and whether we do have better lined up. Could you imagine going into the season with the Canadian as number 1?

Oh, well the other thread is a little premature then.
