Not many flourish in this day and age at most clubs when out on loan. These kids are on top dollar and not playing for contracts at these Premier League clubs that I think the drive and ambition to succeed for a lower club is instantly missing and below them. Again not too many success stories in the Championship ..not just at Rovers. I d rather go lower league and take a chance on them and let them earn a contract.

Law of averages looking at that list who we ve had must mean we ll get lucky with one player ! To be fair only a few success stories in the Championship with loanees ..Mount Tomori and Wilson at Derby being the most fruitful ones on first thoughts..Abrahams at Villa ..?

My point is that then fans take his words as fact and and then berate him when any one of 14 sides could end up in the Play Offs . Manager Talk. All managers come out and state targets. ..and all should be taken with a pinch of salt . 15-16 clubs will all be spouting the same ambitions for 8 places . If Mowbray came out and stated mid table fans would be up in arms about lack of ambition ..season ticket sales would falter (even more !) and yet when he states top 8 fans will slate him for not reaching that target . "But Mowbray said top eight …??" Damned if he does damned if he doesn't but no different from other managers up n down the country. Five of Mulgrews goals from the penalty spot ..so that ten really five as im sure Graham would (and did) convert as many penalties.. so not really a problem. Get a decent couple of defenders in who can keep a few more clean sheets and we wouldn't need Mulgrews goals fullstop.

I agree ..I think Downing will become the new Bennett and will play come what may ..may even get the captaincy ..

No BigD not falling out but he puts the ball in the right area but most teams SHOULD deal with them.You cant just rely on maybe he could nick one yet his vulnerability at the back costs us more times than the chance of a goal from a corner. Hes a defender .. needs to defend.

He aint going to be scoring from corners on a regular basis though Big Dog? More defensive howlers rather him keep bending them in the top corner from corners . Put it this way ..if we d conceded directly from corners a couple of times .we d be after Rayas head on a stick plus the defender on the near posts head too .

Goals conceded maybe a good start !

Take away his penalties and the odd flukey corner kick theres not much more that warrants him a starting place !

Chased him or was interested in him ? Yeah we tried to sign him twelve months ago ..highly doubtful he d have been a starter bought with a view to upping his qualities over the season. Twelve months of watching him and maybe the lad hasn't kicked on as well as we thought he may and may even have gone backwards and the step upto the Championship that TM has seen first hand last season is too much of a step up for Bauer. ?
