  1. Another victim of the Jack Walker haters at UEFA
  2. ...and that's a question of spite and how much? Perhaps the "best case scenario" for them would be to get promoted then sell the club. Without pilfering Tv funds and remember there's no Belokon figure to prevent that. Of course in the meantime thanks to incompetence and FUP it's by no means a certainty. Clubs don't normally remain in the Championship as long as Ipswich have (pending their inevitable relegation) so there's that but the question is which way? Another stint in L1 might turn out the way last season did but it's still a wasted year towards what the end game should be.
  3. Assuming that isn't sarcastic he's got enough problems at the moment. Accounts are due to be posted on Companies House in approx 5 days. Thenodrog has stated he's seen a copy of the accounts perhaps because he's one of the fans with a minuscule shareholding. I can't imagine the accounts will show anything different than usual. Obviously the debt will have increased and there will be references of kowtowing to FUP every 2 sentences,
  4. Manager calling you a disgrace. It's not exactly uncommon in football for managers to abuse referees is it?
  5. I'm sure his reasons are legitimate. Simply because it's hard to believe someone could be worse than Dunn as a manager.
  6. Had a brief look at this Bolton takeover situation and it seems like the Davies family might be holding it up. They want a 5 million loan repaid that Davies gave them just before he died. Now some people are blaming Ken Anderson (saying that he took 500k of the loan for himself) but are the Davies family just looking out for themselves? I couldn't think of a bigger insult than comparing someone to another family and maybe I'm paranoid for that reason. Davies wrote off virtually everything else though and now he's dead are his family picking the bones so to speak? EDIT-I've seen Davies' daughter commenting on Twitter and she's been mentioning the club and her Dad. Something which another family would never do. So maybe I'm wrong but how many children did Davies have? If Anderson has been using the loan for his own interests I can understand their point as well. As I say for some reason selfish families touch a nerve with me but you can't just judge someone on a few mins research either.
  7. Reckon if I walked into a shop or post office and sucker punched someone they would probably just laugh. Mike Tyson I'm not.
  8. One of their stewards even appears to have kicked Grealish. Can't imagine Birmingham City will be winning "stewards of the year" awards. Then again it is the EFL. The only sanctions they don't deserve at the moment is UEFA's corrupt nonsense. Sadly they have probably played right into UEFA's hands because people won't be feeling too sympathetic towards them at the moment.
  9. People should probably be more interested in how Ian B's legal issues have progressed (if at all) than Ian C's previous/present directorships. Thread from this past November detailing his situation. As for Blackpool it's like I've said before. Belokon was the major catalyst for this change as much as some of their fans might claim credit. Of course this situation couldn't have happened at Ewood because Venkys own virtually 100%. If the club returns to the Premier League (under their ownership) and Venkys did what the Oystons have what's there to stop them? Another useless committee? ?. I'm not saying Venkys will definitely do that in such a scenario but who knows? Attempts to predict their thinking is difficult whether you have let your guard down based on recent activities or not.
  10. Yeah it's probably an understatement.
  11. Sums up the level of hatred and spite the Walkers feel towards club and fans.
  12. He owned it. The Walker trust never did. Matthewman "resigned" in 2017 but that's due to status as a tax exile. Same reason Jack Walker was never officially a director. Shortly after Jack died. How convenient. Obviously the Matthewmans used their manipulative influence over the trustees to cut this deal. Matthewman didn't own Northchoke until 2012 but it's no coincidence that Matthewman's friends (that pompous oaf Bancroft and Howarth) received the catering contract shortly after Jack died. The hotel has lost money (I don't know about that cafe near the cathedral) but considering Bancroft's delusions Matthewman evidently saw it as some kind of status symbol being a "manor" and all. Something to mention at the racecourse and pheasant shoots. Put yourself into the mind of typical psuedo upper class. I'm sure the club were unable (without any legal issues) to cut the contract sooner. I'm sure that Northchoke's contract was part of the sale conditions in 2010. Matthewman wasn't owner then (made his "investment" in 2012) but I'm sure he used his (and the rest of his families) extensive influence over the trustees to cut his mates a deal. Obviously there wasn't the same influence here besides Bancroft being able to keep his job.
  13. Anyone other than his family would be a bonus.
  14. Haven't followed Sheffield Wednesday's position closely enough (probably because some owners can make mistakes which are misguided rather than ludicrous or outright antagonistic especially Blackpool) but owner looking to sell. Sick and tired of FUP by the sounds of it. UEFA...the biggest European pandemic since Spanish Flu. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/breaking-sheffield-wednesday-chairman-dejphon-chansiri-puts-the-owls-up-for-sale-1-9501774
  15. ...and then people wonder why Kean/Anderson had no problem leeching off a football club.
  16. Should have postponed at the last minute. ?
  17. I guess it's rich coming from me to point this out but that poll will just create argument. Which in turn often leads to resentment. Those who are hostile are more entitled to be angry with the opposing view though not the other way round. When people have suffered unjustly they want people to feel their pain not throw it back in their face. Or be hypocritical which sometimes is even worse.
  18. Speaking of Henchoz he was Berg's replacement. Younger, lower fee and while Berg didn't exactly end his playing career in obscurity look who lasted longer. As it happens Henchoz wasn't exactly unknown to Man United either but he chose to join Rovers and his former international manager Hodgson. Man United fans go on about Shearer he wasn't the only one who chose Rovers (in 1992 anyway and unlike Dalglish at that point Ferguson hadn't even won a league title talk about arrogance) over Man United. Sutton did. Donis did (for what that's worth)
  19. He was bitter about it 19 years later never mind 3.
  20. You don't even have a say on Trump anyway. You're not American (or Russian ?). Neither should people from the UK expect to have any say on how the US govern themselves besides international relationships (and I prefer having the US as an ally) anyway. Not on domestic issues like gun regulations, etc anyway the UK government shouldn't even debate that it's nothing to do with this country. I think those who are anti-Venkys can just take certain steps. Avoid the main entrance, etc for instance which in all likelihood would be the closest opportunity to interact (or throw another snowball). If you're want to yell abuse from the stands that's only gonna go so far anyway if people won't join in. Of course if you stand at the JW entrance and yell abuse some clown will probably tell you off and make you wonder if it was worth bothering.
