Graham will be 34 by the start of next season he is not going to be getting any fitter. Brereton doesn't look up to the job of replacing him and we need someone who can. I would not be against signing Gallagher for a reasonable price. He did decently last time here in a poor side, decent in the air, a very hard worker and not a bad finisher. I still think that long term Mowbray would like to play 3-4-1-2, although for me a substantial overhaul of the defence is needed if that is going to happen.

Very interesting comments from the Forest Green chairman regarding the loan and now non transfer of Christian Doidge to Bolton. Bolton could well be in for a points deduction before too long.

I thought the same watching him on MOTD last night he did look a handful. Out of contract in the summer so wouldn't cost a lot, may well be worth a gamble.

Ipswich's equaliser and I personally thought the Villa equaliser his wall was set up wrong and his positioning was wrong. He's a fantastic shot stopper as good as anyone one in the league. But his decision making leaves a bit to be desired, he's never looks convincing or commanding when coming for crosses and his kicking is terrible (I don't think anyone would argue that) and it sometimes puts us under unnecessary pressure.

I'd agree with all of that other than Lenihan deserving to start every week. He's been very disapproving this season, too rash. We need a big dominant centre back to marshal the defensive and win some headers when defending set pieces. Incredibly he saved one from Milner in pre season who is an excellent penalty take but he's faced a few this season in competitive football and not gotten close to one really.

You'd just as well put a mannequin upfront. He lacks any energy to pressure defenders, he can't challenge in the air and the ball come's straight back off him when played into him.

Good player but how many more central midfielders do we want. It's about the only position where we don't need anyone.
-
But there is of course an in-between that doesn't involve taking a big expensive gamble on someone who may or may not have potential or signing someone on big wages looking for a last pay day to put towards the retirement fund.
-
He looks a very good talent and if we wanted to bring in a young striker and develop him we would have been a better off picking him up on the cheap (given his contractual situation) rather than paying the sort of money we paid for Brereton where you would really want an instant return.
-
Not if we didn't want the fee announced they wouldn't have.
-
Most deals completed now are undisclosed fees.

Having featured primarily as a substitute this season, Brereton has shown flashes of his undoubted quality and is expected to have a big future here at Ewood Park. ??

Loan signings. So in other words we blew the budget on Brereton, no players coming in who are going to come straight in to the first team just more bits and pieces players to help keep the bench warm.

He'd be someone to keep Davenport company when Gladwin goes at the end of the season.
