  1. Missed the first 20 or so,we've looked alright going forward (Brereton aside). Let's hope we come out second half with a defence in its proper positions as that current set up is certain to concede in the second half. Bell at Centre Back??
  2. He's not positive enough he likes a plodder in there like Smallwood or Evans. For some reason he seems to think they offer more defensive protection.
  3. Turned over late after watching the vote and still trying to work out where everyone is playing, it looks like over half the team is playing out of position. We seem to have a lot of players miss games through 'illness'.
  4. Hard to disagree with this he's made fair few signings in his time here and for me there would be 2 perhaps 3 at the most that would be in our best starting 11 and one of those is Reed who is only on loan.
  5. Tony say's “I’ve talked before, I put a lot of stock in loyalty in players who have done well for this team and I want to see how far they can take us." Personally I think that this current squad has reached it's ceiling which is mid table of the Championship. I don't see a team with the likes of Smallwood, Evans, Bell, Williams and Bennett (as a right back) playing regularly as good enough to take the next step to the play offs. I also don't see a team that has no wingers and only 1 striker decent striker as a side that can make the play offs. If we are to take the next step of the play offs then we need probably 4-5 players to come in and improve the first team not just bit part players who sit on the bench and can come on and do a job here and there.
  6. I'm hoping that neither Evans or Smallwood play so that Reed who is our best central midfielder can play in his best position.
  7. He's as good and comfortable on the ball as anyone in our squad. Personally I think he would be best in a back three brining the ball out from the back.
  8. Not really is it Mowbray is a cautious manager who would rather (to use his terms) have soldier's than artists. Palmer would want to play one of the 3 roles behind the striker, Dack is nailed on for the central role, he likes a defensive minded player like Bennett or Reed on one side and that leaves the likes of Palmer, Rothwell, Armstrong etc fighting for one role and as Tony likes to tinker none of them get a regular run. Under a more attacking manager those players have two positions to fight for rather than just one and they then get to play more games and build up form and understandings. Also under a more attacking manager he would give him more freedom to create and show the artist in him whereas Mowbray was more about getting him to defened and wanted to make him more soldier than artist which I don't really think was his game. Not sure why it's ridiculous I'd say it pretty clear that Mowbray would rather have someone in the Bennett mould than someone like Palmer or Rothwell.
  9. An awful game of football, in which neither side really deserved to win but a good 3 points. I thought the two centre back's were excellent in what was a real physical challenge, I thought Rodwell would struggle with it but he coped well. For me Rodwell would be ideal in a back 3, bring the ball out and passing it. Bell was poor, awful on the ball and I have never seen a full back so consistently let his man get a free cross into the box. Travis two great passes for the first goal the first one Evans or Smallwood would have not been able to spot let alone play and the second one they wouldn't have been far enough up the pitch to play it. Nuttall won his fair share of headers, sadly there was no one with 20 yards of him to support him. And he did what all good strikers do got himself in the right area and got himself a goal, I'm delighted for the lad. Armstrong looked bright coming on, is that his best role coming off the bench late on when teams tire and using his pace? Conway I'm afraid to say is not up to it at this level anymore, Bennett was much better when higher up the pitch and Reed much better second half in his best position.
  10. Reed been much better in central midfield. Him and Travis is by far our best pairing let's just hope Mowbray can see it.
  11. No one deserves to win this game. We've served up some dross this season but this is by far the worst and Millwall are equally as bad. The game wouldn't look out of place being played on Hackney Marshes tomorrow morning.
  12. Dack looking fed up again can't say I blame him.
  13. One decent performance against Sheffield Wednesday doesn't change the fact that Conway is past it and was given a new contract for purely sentimental reason.
  14. Bell is meant to be a full back so why does he put absolutely no effort into stopping his man crossing.
  15. It was certainly in the air more that it was on the ground. If there's any chiropractors outside the ground after today's game then they will make a fortune. What more can he do when we launch the ball up to him and no one else is within 20 yards off him?
  16. Mowbray has shown Millwall for too much respect they are as bad and as route one as us. Why are we setting up for a draw, when there are 3 points here for the taking?
  17. Feel sorry for Reed, he is our best central midfielder who for some reason is being played as a left winger and struggling to have any real impact.
