  1. We simply don't have the money. I also got a Final Four but its now an investment in my club. Not interested in an ifollow pass as got it free already on IPTV. However I also won't request a refund. No ST holders should be asking for refunds IMO.
  2. The refund situation is not a case of Vs putting up the cash or not. We are already in the FFP hole to £15 million before the virus came along. Refunds to 9000 fans would just make it a whole lot worse. We already had to refund a bucket load of cash to corporate bookings for the Leeds game. We are replacing the leavers with free transfers or academy players / making do with the left overs. Waggott told me 17 teams in the Champ have the benefactor model and all are severely restricted by FFP. Promotion is the ONLY way out of the mess. Unless there is a temporary rule change, we are already lined up for FFP sanctions due to deferring wages. Then it gets worse if the £15 million hole isn't plugged before the next accounts get published. 3rd year of the cycle and we are basically fucked if we dont get promoted THIS SEASON.
  3. Yes we do. The accounts tell us that to stay FFP compliant we need to sell. The golden goose is crocked and the virus put pay to the rest. The budget stands at minus £15 million. The only hope is the teams above us have positive tests on their key players and Mowbray wins the PL lotto.
  4. Government held the upper hand in the exclusivity negotiation with broadcasters. Option 1 - we can follow the French precedent and say no pro sport until September at the earliest. Option 2 - you sell us some of your exclusivity. In return we tweak the laws on the 3pm blackout, facilitate a June restart by our unlock roadmap and pay a sum of money via the BBC.
  5. Expect all the big PL games to be exclusively on Sky/BT/Amazon as before... all outside the 3pm Saturday slot. BBC will probably show Sat 3pm games e.g. Southampton vs Bournmouth with other games on the red button / internet service. This would be an additional (emergency) TV deal funded by central government with (extra) money going into the pyramid to offset closed door losses for the good of "public morale". Championship will be the standard Sky red button / ifollow format but without the 3pm Saturday blackout.
  6. Not sure how I missed this post until just now. Fantastic work Lenny... writing the new album on lockdown eh ?
  7. We of course have an advantage in having a 32000 seater stadium and only 10000 home fans. Leave every other seat vacant and fill the ground. Probably applies to many Championship grounds and others could reduce actual capacity to do it. Lots of people will just not take the risk and skip the rest of the season anyway. I guess that will depend on the individual's risk factor to themselves and family members. No away fans is better than behind closed doors ? How would it feel watching with an empty seat either side ?
  8. Walton going back so looks like we will need the 2 new keepers we needed last summer. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18376205.brighton-make-decision-long-term-future-rovers-loanee/
  9. tbf Liverpool fans were up in arms about the decision and have contributed to its prompt reversal. Fans can't be tarred with the same brush as their owners. Shame Rovers fans didn't stand up against Venkys and Kean whilst there was still some power in unity. Instead the "1%" protested whilst too many others were silent or complicit happy clappers who now pedal the owners are victims line and wave their season tickets as a badge of super fan honour.
  10. Transfer window and contract end dates to move. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52188913
  11. Liverpool reverse furlough decision and apologise. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52191140
  12. The accounts are the accounts & then... If we are in L1 we have to comply with SCMP. If we are in the Champ we have to comply with FFP. Mike Cheston said it's really that simple.
  13. This is not true. I pressed Waggott explicitly on this point and he confirmed that season IS included under FFP. SCMP applies whilst you are physically in L1 but as we are in the Champ that season is calculated under FFP rules.
  14. Watch this space. They are putting Suhail on furlough and selling the abandoned Neville mansion to pay the weekly staff.
  15. Sheriff Waggott Tributes to Venkys. No tribute to Tony Parkes.
  16. 30% wage cut & PL delayed indefinately. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52148955
  17. The exact same model they were saying will happen in the PL about 3 weeks ago. Still the most likely imo.
  18. Just the number we expected. £35 million over 2 seasons. The trick now in season 3 is to get the loss down from £18 million to about £4 million. Anyone know how we can rustle up £15 million ? Thanks Bradley. No wonder Waggott is desperate to get the FFP rules suspended due to the virus. And the exact reason why it won't happen as many clubs would basically cheat their way out of trouble and get into unsustainable debt in the process. Oh wait....
  19. So if I understand correctly what Gordon Taylor is saying (LT article), any club deferring players wages due to insufficient funds (due to coronovirus) will be given an FFP transfer embargo. The PFA also advising players not to agree to pay cuts or deferrals. Meanwhile if club owners inject cash it also goes against FFP which in our case is a no go. Seems harsh yet the reality is after this crisis is over, we need as many clubs as possible to still exist. Not least Rovers.
  20. 4 more weeks suspension announced. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51962751
  21. EFL release £50m to L1 & 2 clubs. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51951389
  22. I have made a few axminster looms in my time. Did you work at Pickerings Tyrone ?
