  1. My issue is not with Wiemann as a signing (as versatile back up), but Wiemann at wing back, Fleck is a no, no matter where he would play
  2. He is 33 in a week, surely not a good idea
  3. Weimann more of a versatile forward for me than a number 10, Gilsenan more of a wide forward (when fit). Sigurdssons fitness continues to be an issue, then we are down to 2
  4. I suppose it depends on if Eustace sees Szmodics as a 9 or 10? Given how he has set up since arriving in February, arguments could be made either way. It may also be a case of Eustace being slightly economical with the truth as he is not wanting to put too much pressure on Ohasi having to replace our main man
  5. Alongside Gueye, Ohashi and an out and out winger with pace, I would be fairly happy (in terms of forwards brought in). Which I did not think I would be saying a week ago. Obviously all gambles, but we are where we are
  6. Pickering at left centre back if/when Eustace goes for a back 5, and Gent or a loanee at wing back. Personally do not see a back 5 being employed at home to Derby
  7. The Dingles signed a lot of players form the Belgian league last time they were in the Championship and they adjusted quickly and were definitely the required quality Zaroury, Benson, Foster off the top of my head Edit, also Cullen, Viniho & Delcroix. So essentially half a team full of players from Belgium
  8. His wage would have been roughly halved following relegation last season
  9. https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2024/huddersfields-sorba-thomas-undergoing-medical-ahead-of-nantes-loan/ He is off to France
  10. The only way Szmodics stays at this point is if he fails his medical or Rovers are bought later today by Elon Musk
  11. He isn't a winger. Played his best football last season as an attacking central midfielder/10 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karamoko-dembele/leistungsdaten/spieler/466602/plus/0?saison=2023
  12. How tall is the 19 year old French lad? Edit, 5 ft 9, he is not our guy
  13. when we had Brereton playing wide left, we wouldn't have asked him to change his game to play as an out and out winger as it would not have suited his game. Same argument here
  14. A bit erratic, but he is not afraid of whipping crosses in, can see it working with a big target to aim at
  15. Can see Ohashi in the 10 spot, Gueyes technique does worry me from that video, but he does look to have good movement and is certainly a physical presence, so as long as he is used correctly, he will hopefully be a good signing
  16. Dembele more an inside forward than a winger who will cross it in
  17. Seems to have a leap on him, Chaddy posted a link to his goals from last season not long ago
  18. We have to add Gent and Vale to that, and Fleck (he played more than Koumetio in the league) to the outgoings, purely in terms of numbers,
  19. It seems he can take a penalty too, scored 9, missed 1 in the past 5 years https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/makhtar-gueye/elfmetertore/spieler/606849
  20. Why are Southampton there? I do not rate Russell Martin at all, but he would be going some to get relegated from the Championship this season
  21. He rans a lot - So the opposite of lazy then? I can somewhat agree with the headless chicken analogy If Rovers are offering him less than £10K/week, when he could probably get close to double at most other Championship clubs, would you sign on for longer with the current issues if you were not a fan of the club?
  22. Have we been watching the same player? Dolan has his faults, but surely work rate is not one of them?
  23. Are they trying to get their own back on Rovers for us flogging them Ennis? But Baker should not be a priority and swapping one of our few remaining forwards for another midfielder would be madness
