  1. Personally can see us appointing someone until the end of the season, and then going back to the list/plan in the summer

  3. Sounds like a case of employing 2 people for 1 role, and at least one of them is doing nothing whilst the other is messing things up
  4. According to this, he is https://www.rovers.co.uk/club/staff/ Mike Cheston - Finance Director Ashfaq Hasan - Head of Finance * Not sure it is up to date
  5. Played the first half, set up the 2nd goal Match Report - https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/february/06/report--sheffield-united-under-21s-2-3-rovers-under-21s/
  6. Can I just state for the record that I am not Maidstone Rover lol
  7. For the sanity of the fans, I agree. However, both clubs would have been well aware the second it happened so it would not have impacted Rovers in the slightest (Rovers just had no intention of spending the money based on the directive from above)
  8. For the record, I have no clue if what Tommy is saying is true, I am just saying that it could be true, because digital faxes are a thing

  10. no https://www.premierleague.com/news/597684#:~:text=The fax machine has been, and scanned documents via email.
  11. https://www.premierleague.com/news/597684#:~:text=The fax machine has been, and scanned documents via email. I'm assuming the EFL will operate the same as the Prem in this regard
  12. Chrisene started as LWB against Huddersfield. He was replaced by Sigurdsson for the final 30 mins with the game at 1-1 (presumably in an attempt to be more attacking and get a winner) Sigurdsson and Dolan did play as wing backs vs Wrexham if you are maybe getting the games confused? But I don't think anyone would say that the tactics were wrong in the Wrexham game
  13. I wonder if the Rovers twitter account will have the balls to tweet a happy birthday message to Duncan McGuire today? They do seem to be tone deaf sometimes, so I wouldn't bet against it
  14. He would still have to be persuaded to sign a scholarship for us to get much of anything, and then a pro contract when he turns 17 (in just over a years time). Plenty of time for the decisions of our owners to inspire him to try his hand elsewhere long before Rovers could get any sot of decent fee for him
  15. Italy or Spain https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/february/02/watch-rovers-against-rangers-live-/
  16. Absolutely this, Anyone who thinks that we have a squad of players who are each on less than 10K a week is very much mistaken
  17. I do wonder if both McFadzean and Fleck are seen as players who we can bring on in the last 20 mins or so to help us to see out games, rather than starters who we will be relying on to play 90 mins each week
  18. Even if true, with a director of football model, a change in head coach would not change the general playing style of the team or the transfer strategy to any great extent. Whilst the formation may change, They will still look for defenders (and goalkeepers) who can play it out from the back, pressing forwards, versatile players who can play multiple positions etc. Whether we like it or not, that is now Rovers playing identity, regardless of who the manager head coach is
  19. He does. So does Gally, but Dolan will be on a much more manageable wage so it is more likely Dolans extension will be triggered than Gallys
  20. Seeing as we only have 5 on loan, I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief on that score! Moran, Chrisene, McGuire, Ayari and Koumetio are on loan McFadzean and Fleck were short term permanent signings Siggy has now signed permanently
  21. If it is an obligation to buy, then if the player/Rovers meet the stated obligation (it may be appearances made, goals scored, Rovers finishing position etc) then the transfer becomes permanent (for example, the O'Brien deal was to be an obligation to buy IF Rovers were promoted) If it is an option to buy rather than an obligation to buy, then Rovers would have first refusal to buy him for a set fee. So in theory, if the option is £3M (I have no idea what it actually is) and he goes on to become the new Ronaldo and scores 20 odd goals before the end of the season, and other clubs want to buy him for £20M, Rovers would still have the first refusal at £3M and then could turn around a quick sale for a profit of £17M. * All figures and fees are made up for the sake of example
  22. He was already back in light training I think, It was on Rovers TV, which doesn't seem to be working at the moment but this covers it https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24052027.blackburn-midfielder-sets-injury-target-opens-loan/
  23. He (Buckley) did an interview last month and said mid February
  24. I think its legal if they are playing full back or wing back
  25. People on here were going nuts about how good Stokes and Birmingham's transfer business was this summer just gone
