  1. These aquaintances of yours who you say 'support' both Rovers and Stanley. What would they do if say Rovers played Stanley in a cup tie? 'Support' both teams? Wear half-and-half scarves? Hope for a draw?
  2. And the 'spotting' of the likes of Nzonzi and Samba 20 or so years ago, would most likely have been done the old school way. ie watching the players in person, rather than sat behind a desk.
  3. 'Support' more than one team? In my world, that is inconceivable.
  4. I'll repeat what YOU said...nothing to do with the owners. apart from the odd game we will never fill Ewood again At face value, that comes across as a pretty small minded comment to make. I wonder when Jack designed the stadium whether he thought we'd never fill 30k home fans.
  5. Nonsense. That's exactly the sort of small minded mentality that those who purportedly run our club have.
  6. Cue the wails of '...but that's the modern game...' from those amongst us who also see no issue with all manner of random kick off times, because they can get to every home game no matter what.
  7. The only thing that really matters is names on trophies. Everything else is ifs, buts, and maybes.
  8. Or maybe he's mulling over multiple offers.
  9. To me, it's as plain as day what's going on. No contract renewals; no new signings; rumours of outgoings....can only mean one thing IMO.
  10. Indeed. A CEO should ultimately be accountable for all aspects of the business. As TomPhil says, it's a box tick/patsy.
  11. The worst 'stick' I've ever heard Dolan get is 'FFS Dolan' mutterings when he's lost the ball 3 times in 2 minutes. For the vast majority of the time he gets nothing but encouragement.
  12. If they are indeed looking externally, why does that automatically mean that Gestede is ruled out? He may well have already applied, knowing full well that they're inviting external candidates. It's how most recruitment works.
  13. Whatever we each think of him ability wise, he'll get a gig at a decent Championship side paying him five-fold what he'd get working for our idiots, and will be financially set up. So good luck to him. The problem with losing Dolan - or indeed any other of our better players for that matter - is that whoever he is replaced with will undoubtably be worse.
  14. In which case, there is an short term 4.9m hole to plug. Ergo, player sales.
  15. That's the obvious conclusion; they'll have to keep selling assets to stay afloat. It really is a hand-to-mouth existance now, which will just keep on happening unless something fundamental changes.
  16. My expectations for what the club do eventually organise will revolve around being cheap.
  17. 'Making it up on whim' is the exact definition of how they operate right throughout the club.
  18. But by his own admission, Gestede is in charge of the pie run.
  19. A new deal for Weinmann is a lazy option IMO. We should be doing better than an injury suspect 30 odd year old. Good in his day, but his day has gone. So we'll probably offer him a new deal...
  20. At present, any talk of paying transfer fees is pie in the sky IMO. With no money incoming from the owners for the forseeable, the club will need to save every penny to just pay the bills. It's more likely we'll sell than buy.
  21. Football fans are as fickle as they come. I recall some posters on here demanding the sacking of Ismael after only a few games, but then after a couple of good results their tune had changed. Give it a few games into the new league season and if they continue to get embarrassed every week, Spurs fans will soon turn again.
  22. On the back of a good season, Brittain, like others, will be keeping his options open amidst the Ewood chaos. He won't be short of suitors.
