  1. My expectations for what the club do eventually organise will revolve around being cheap.
  2. 'Making it up on whim' is the exact definition of how they operate right throughout the club.
  3. But by his own admission, Gestede is in charge of the pie run.
  4. A new deal for Weinmann is a lazy option IMO. We should be doing better than an injury suspect 30 odd year old. Good in his day, but his day has gone. So we'll probably offer him a new deal...
  5. At present, any talk of paying transfer fees is pie in the sky IMO. With no money incoming from the owners for the forseeable, the club will need to save every penny to just pay the bills. It's more likely we'll sell than buy.
  6. Football fans are as fickle as they come. I recall some posters on here demanding the sacking of Ismael after only a few games, but then after a couple of good results their tune had changed. Give it a few games into the new league season and if they continue to get embarrassed every week, Spurs fans will soon turn again.
  7. On the back of a good season, Brittain, like others, will be keeping his options open amidst the Ewood chaos. He won't be short of suitors.
  8. We all know that he won a trophy. Assuming that he isn't potted imminently after overseeing their worst league season in decades, that will soon be forgotten though come the new season, when, if they don't radically and quickly improve their league form, he will be history.
  9. The 3 promoted/relegated sides aside, Spurs are statistically the worst team in that league. But yeah, Postecoglou has 'delivered success'.
  10. It would not surprise me one bit if other clubs tried their luck this summer with low ball offers for our better players - Travis, Tronstad, Brittain et al - and we see them moved on.
  11. I can picture it now... Utter carnage and chaos behind the scenes. Contracts and extension offers not accepted/rescinded External bids for players accepted. Players walking away. No new incomings. U23's expected to step up. Hitting pre-season in the opposite position to what Ismael wanted. Disaster on the pitch awaits.
  12. The situation is a ticking time bomb. There's only so many assets of worth left to sell. Once they've exhausted these, then what next? The Academy? Ewood itself? Sooner or later, the owners are going to have to stump up some cash, impediment or not. Otherwise, boom....
  13. The cynic in me would ask why they just say 'club event' rather than any specifics.
  14. Nah, Hedgy will have signed his one year extension by then. It'll be like a new signing, don't you know!
  15. My guess is that Hedges has been kept around with a view to him being a regular starter, rather than merely being a squad player.
  16. 8,000 sold vs 9,100 last season is a significant downgrade, with miminal expectation that many more will be sold at these prices, I imagine. That's a lot of lost revenue. Let's see how they spin this one...
  17. Any Rovers fan - certainly those of us who were there that day - being 'delighted' for Crystal Bloody Palace winning anything, needs to give their head a wobble.
  18. Of course that's the case, unfortunately. Modern sport dances to Sky's tune. For Sky to describe the PL as the 'best league in the world', though, is a marketing strapline, one used to encourage take up of their service. That was the point I was making.
  19. Rangers are interested in him, according to some link on BBC Sport.
  20. You're probably right, I need to be less cycnical in my old age. The PL is 'THE BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD!!!' 🤣
  21. To describe the PL as the 'best league in the world' is subjective guff. It's just a meaningless marketing statement used to sell Sky subscriptions.
  22. By that logic, if they similarly decided to cease funding of the Academy, and bearing in mind that few of us go to watch games there, then we shouldn't get 'worked up' about that either. Whether people attend the women's games is irrelevant. What is relevant, is yet another decision being made which is symptomatic of the way in which the club operates.
  23. Also known in executive circles as 'washing our own face', I believe. All Hail Suhail.
  24. Sigh. I see that the 'best league in the world' hyperbole is back.
