  1. So a few qualifications and a year shadowing Waggott qualifies him to run a circa £30 million football business. Righto.
  2. How the heck does someone go from a purely sporting role (DOF) to a holistic business role (CEO)? Surely it's a different skillset. And that's ignoring the question of whether said person is qualified for the DOF role in the first place! 'Succession planning' the Venky way.
  3. Aye, praising the club for apparently getting the most basic commerce right. What next? Giving them kudos for fielding 11 players? 🙂
  4. Stock levels should be maximised around peak buying times; pre/early season and Christmas. Pretty basic stuff, really.
  5. Don't tell me what you're going to do; rather, tell me when you've done it. In the meantime, STFU.
  6. Of course it doesn't change the bigger picture, but after an awful, depressing run of performances, I was delighted walking off the ground yesterday.
  7. Hard one to call today. Millwall will be pushing for a win to maintain their top 6 chances. No pressure on us, but that could work either way. A draw I think.
  8. Some idiot said to me at the Boro game, 'Who would pay off the debt if the Venkys left?' To which I replied; 'Who's debt is it? Who created it? Who should own it?' Thick as mince, some folk.
  9. I stopped going for a couple of seasons around the time of K*an. My thinking was that I'd pick and choose a few games, but I gradually got out of the habit and stopped going completely. Then when my daughter showed an interest, I was back on it and realised what I'd been missing. I'm dithering for next season cos of the all the recent shenanigans, but will likely renew ours. The way I look at it now, is that it's our club, not theirs, and why should they again stop me doing something which I've done for most of my life.
  10. A non-Rovers mate of mine from Rawtenstall has taken his lad onto Ewood a couple of times just to watch a game. The club have his details, as is required for on-line purchases. You'd think he would be a perfect prospective supporter to contact and encourage to come back. Have they ever proactively contacted him? Have they heck.
  11. Of course, with our modern DOF structure of 3 expert footballing people and our well communicated short, medium, and long term plans firmly in place, all backed up with a solid investment strategy from the owners, the summer window will once again be nothing short of a major success.
  12. It doesn't. It's called 'make it up as you go along'.
  13. They've already succeeded on that front...
  14. Ok. I'll ask again, but slightly differently. So hypotheticaly, if Rovers - Gestede/Waggot/Pasha - sign players in the upcoming summer transfer window, in your opinion, would that automatically make those players good enough to play for a Championship club? As a reminder, this is what you said earlier.... 'if these crap players then they wouldn't be playing professional football at such a high level of football'
  15. So just because Gestede signed then, that automatically makes them good enough to play for a Championship club?
  16. And what happens when you don't employ the right DOF? Or they themselves decide to walk?
  17. I must have missed Jack explaining to us why he had the audacity to sign Kenny....
  18. 'We're on track to hit our targets...' will be the most that they'll admit to.
  19. So if they appointed say Pep as our next manager, sorry head coach, you'd want them to go online and explain to us and justify why they did so?
  20. All to play for in the second leg next week. After the red card, I thought Rangers would struggle, so fair play to them. I've seen Bilbao a few times this season and they're a good side.
  21. I didn't say that they did. But given the choice between the 3 stooges picking players, or say Mowbray alone picking players, I know which one I'd rather have.
  22. Transfer decisions made by an incompetent committee. Or transfer decisions made solely by a competent manager. I know which one I'd prefer.
  23. Moved on from what exactly? You might do, but I'd argue that 99% of supporters don't give a toss about the nitty gritty behind the scenes.
