'Ludicrous' is one of the few things that the club is good at.... 🙂

It wouldn't surprise me if the big jump in salary/pension was a 'golden handcuffs' type of arrangement before he heads off into the sunset. Or maybe I'm just wishful thinking.

Venky’s v Indian Government (a)

So basically they'll just keep the lights on through continual cost cutting and player sales. Great. -

'There's none so blind as those who will not see'. -
No prospective manager of calibre - other than a desperado or through naivety - would accept the job knowing that the reasons behind the previous 2 managers leaving are still there, if not more so.

A good chunk of the supposed 100+ applicants will be from the man on the street, probably piss takers from B*rnley.

The State of Ewood Park!
Wheelton Blue replied to A Northern Horde...'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Nothing epitomises their can't-be-arsed, amatuerish, penny-pinching, lack-of-respect attitude more than the state of Jack's stadium. It's a disgrace and so are they. -
I know a couple of Wednesday ST holders. They absolutely detest their owner.

I think I saw you. W12 near the front? Good effort! -
Speaking to a Wolves fan at work, he wasn't impressed with O'Neill at all. Lives in Kent and only stayed for training 3 days a week.

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall Andy Burgin was a regular at the Hare & Hounds at Lammack back in the day.

Eustace…he gone…*official*
Wheelton Blue replied to jim mk2's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
As when Eustace was appointed, I suspect that Waggot is hoping that a replacement is in situ before Saturday to quell any discontent in the stands. A negative result tonight, no sign of a replacement manager, and a tough game against a cockahoop Plymouth (who needs the FA Cup eh?) could make Saturday interesting. -

Good luck to the guy, I say He deserves better than having to deal with the idiots who suposedly run our club. Thank goodness that we have as many points as we do, so we shouldn't get a repeat of the last end-of-season shenanigans. When you consider the abject state of our squad, he's worked a miracle. Next season though.... -
At the beginning of last season, full of misplaced optimism, I said to myself that hopefully that would be the last season of having to endure the likes of Hedges and Dolan. 18 months on, and the alternative now will, in all likelihood, be even worse. Running down contracts, managed decline, end of career journeymen, short term 'permanent' signings, and loans from lower leagues. I'm resigned to it all. This is our Venky induced lot.

I'm deludedly going to predict a 2-0 loss. Losing Tronstad is a step too far for this squad. -
v Oxford United (a) - 18/1/25
Wheelton Blue replied to jim mk2's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Exactly. I saw Tronstad at Accy pre season, and for the first number of games I thought he was way off the pace of the English game. How wrong I was. First name on the teamsheet for me. -

I agree, hence my comment re: 'dark arts' The ref let they get away with it early doors, so they took advantage for the rest of the game. -

Wheelton Blue replied to Adam C's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Burnley weren't a patch on their side of 2 seasons ago, but - as much as I hate to say it - they look good for a top 2 finish IMO. Well organised, hard to score against let alone beat, put away their only chance yesterday, and they have the dark arts off to a tee. -

Whatever the team, whatever the tactics...in JE we should trust. Let's just batter these fools for once. -

As a spectator, for me there's nothing more exciting that seeing tackles flying in, crosses coming in from the wings, goalmouth scrambles, and shots in the box. All aspects which seem to have been lost in the 'modern' game. -

I didn't bait you at all, hence the smiley face. It was a joke, you know, those things which normal people laugh at. Lighten up man. -

January Transfer window
Wheelton Blue replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
As far as I'm aware, our financial situation is no different from the summer, when we were effectively living off transfer proceeds to pay the milk man. I'd be surprised, therefore, if we spent more than a few pennies on any permanent signings; loans will be the most likely activity we do. But here's hoping that the fools in charge do the right thing for once.
