  1. It will be a tricky one for Eustace to manage will this game. Straight after the confidence boost at The Turd, a few selection decisions to be made, and ahead of another big derby at Nob End. Hopefully he'll be able to get the side in a good place for another home win. 2-1 Rovers.
  2. They've got plenty of quality players, but didn't look like a 'team' to me. That's to be expected what with all the turmoil. The key is whether Parker can knit it all together.
  3. I would be amazed if three or four of our squad hit 10 goals. Here's hoping, though!
  4. The signing of Cantwell in particular has far exceeded my expectations. We still have massive issues, though. Three quarters of the back line are suspect; we've no idea if Pears has actually been adequately replaced; the team is still one paced; and I'm not sure where the goals are going to come from. The real test will be if/when we lose 2 or 3 key players to injuries or suspension.
  5. Much better still, it's on live, in person, at Ewood.
  6. Has the Dingle game sold out yet?
  7. Exactly this. The transfer monies received, £40 million or whatever it is, won't be received all in one go, but rather in installments over a timeline of say 3 years. In this scenario, the yearly income from transfers is only £13m. If the outgoings are say £20m, then an additional £7m of income needs to be found - per year - just to keep the lights on. This is without buying any players.
  8. A tricky game is this and it will be a close call. Oxford will be no mugs and will be well up for it. I'm going for a 1-1 draw.
  9. Whether the owners can't or won't fund the club, it amounts to the same thing; we're several players short. Despite the positive start, I still stand by my pre-season prediction that based on Szmodics staying we'd be in a relegation battle, but without him, we're nailed on for the drop. Unless Waggott et al sign at least 4 Championship calibre players in the next few days, we're screwed. The squad simply isn't deep enough, nor has it sufficient quality. Before too long, injuries and suspensions will start to tell.
  10. If the owners are unable/unwilling to put money into the club, then we're basically left to live hand to mouth from the proceeds from player sales. In that scenario, not a penny will be spent unless absolutely necessary. Any more player incomings will be zero or very low cost.
  11. Norwich will be smarting after two poor opening displays. I'd be happy with a point from this, but I think we'll struggle especially with no talisman. 2-0 Norwich.
  12. I certainly don't look forward to it, in fact I pay it no attention. It's the dullest league going.
  13. I'd be surprised if Nob End could afford him either.
  14. The point still stands whether it was under Waggot's tenure or not. The common demoninator is the owners, who continue to employ idiots to run the club on their behalf, and who in turn don't give a shiny one.
  15. Hypothetically then, in Chaddy's world, if say Klopp the German had an English grandparent, and therefore in turn he qualified for UK citizenship, that would then be OK to have him as England manager.
  16. Nothing surprises me with this lot any more. I caught up with someone I hadn't seen for years at a funeral the other day. Season ticket holder for decades, he had a seat in the JW Lower BBE side for 25 years+ since Ewood's redevelopment. When the family section was moved into there, him and his mates were basically thrown out and told to find new seats. No "we're sorry about this, we've found you some new seats at a discount", no sweetener or recognition of their loyalty. So you guessed it. They just jacked it in. Those that run/own the club, they just don't care.
  17. This was my take on it also. It was all so easy for the cross to be made. We've been poor at stopping crosses for quite a while; Brittain is particularly susceptible to this.
  18. Sigursson offers leadership? Hmmm, I'm not sure about that one.
  19. Chuffin' well said.
  20. 1. Winners of the Championship Leeds 2. Runners-up in the Championship Luton 3. Championship Play-off final winners B*rnley 4. Where will Rovers finish the season? 22nd 5. Which 3 clubs will be relegated from the Championship? Rovers, Oxford, Plymouth 6. Who will be the first club in the Championship to change manager? (For whatever reason) Oxford 7. Who will be the BRFCS Player of the Season? (As voted for in the Match Centre on BRFCS) Tronstad 8. A wildcard prediction for something (possibly quite mad) that will happen to or at Rovers during this coming season Chaddy misses a home game, but doesn't tell anyone
  21. I love watching Blackburn Rovers, playing at Ewood Park, at 3pm on a Saturday. Just as it should be.
  22. I wasn't sure where to post this, but this nostalgia thread seems as good as any. I spent a few days in northern Spain over the past week, and managed to visit the Athletic Bilbao stadium and had a look around the museum. What a place that is. I knew of the historical links between Athletic and the Rovers, and managed to grab a few photos from the museum of original shirts which were somehow given to them by people associated with the Rovers. It makes you realise what a fabulous, historic club it is which we all support. And how disgusting it is who we are owned and managed by.
  23. Let's hope this comes to fruition eh and we get some good news for a change? It may just cheer up the 'most miserable people in the fanbase' and 'conspiracy theorists' on here.
