  1. It's games like that where I start to waver over Tomasson's tactics and his folly 'I'd rather win 5-2' comment or whatever he said.. Yes, we should have 2 up after 20 minutes, but when it's not going in, you need a Plan B to find a way of grinding out results. He doesn't seem to see this. Tomasson can only play the players he has his disposal though, and when you see the name of Hedges in the starting 11, and Dolan/Makanday on the bench, you know the cards are stacked against. The squad last night showed up the disastrous transfer window. On the subject of Dolan and Hedges, I'm sick of seeing these two in particular on the pitch. Dolan, as described by another poster, is a 'busted flush'. His one redeeming quality - of being able to effectively press and harry - is long gone. We're left with a player who has no ability to do anything constructive. As for Hedges, I can't recall a more non-descript player. He takes absolutely no responsibility. Whereever he is on the pitch, his immediate thought is to make a simple pass and make the ball someone else's problem. As a supposed senior player, if we're ever in a position where it's a backs-to-the-wall job, then God help us when we have the likes of him.
  2. Out of interest, Girona have made an excellent start to the La Liga season. They're up to 3rd, level on 13 points with Barca, winning 4 out of 5.
  3. To increase profits or minimise losses, you increase revenue and/or cut costs. Waggott always takes the easy option. Everything he does is on the cheap.
  4. It's looking like he's going to be a crock. Exactly what we don't need.
  5. We could well see a smaller gate for Cardiff than we did for Walsall. It wouldn't surprise me if BBE based supporters just think 'F'k it, I'm nor sitting in the JW' and don't bother going. Instead of building upon what was a good gate against Walsall, and on the success of our run last season, Waggott decides to go the other way.
  6. No mistake. On the online ticket planner thing, only the JW is available.
  7. Closing the BBE for a competitive first team game - presumably to save a few quid - is a disgrace.
  8. It's as if whoever is responsible for the media posts does it on purpose and is having a laugh.
  9. Setien sacked at Villareal. I wonder if the next guy rates Brereton....
  10. The 1975 game was the very first Rovers game I attended. Sat in the old Riverside stand with my Dad. Hooked ever since.
  11. Don't 'care about getting through'? Wow. Personally speaking, I want us to win every single game we play.
  12. Dolan needs his confidence building back up. Playing him at full back would do just the opposite.
  13. I generally take no notice of the happenings over there in West Yorkshire. This morning though, I stumbled upon the the brick throwing article on the BBC, saw a link to their match report, squinted my eyes, and had a read. Looking at their team selection, it looks like Kompany has ripped up the majority of last season's side. That's a big gamble on his part.
  14. We'll get a bit of a pasting here I think. Our defence has looked iffy thus far and we'll struggle for chances, let alone goals, with our probable forward line. 3-0 Watford
  15. I agree. He seems more interested in flashing his abs these days.
  16. What's actually 'lol', is that having been out for a few beers after watching your side entertain the best side in England, the first thing you do post match is jump on a fan message board of your most bitter rivals to see what they they think of you. Your inferiority complex is never far away.
  17. That's how I saw it. We made over 900 passes in the game, I'd wager most of which were triangles in our own half. Obviously it's great to win and you can only beat what's in front of you etc, but I find our style of play tedious at times.
  18. From what I've seen pre-season, our inability to score goals has obviously only worsened. I'm going 1-2 for this game, putting all the more pressure on Broughton to get a striker or two through the door pronto.
  19. My neighbour is a Wednesday ST holder. He's not optimistic at all, says they have a thin, ageing squad.
  20. We don't need someone just to keep things ticking along. We need someone with the wherewithall to grow the club.
  21. It would be a mistake to drop Travis and Szmodics IMO; we'd miss their energy for starters.
