On this evidence, I agree. For all his neat play, he needs to serioulsy up his effort levels. There was a situation at 2-0 when they came down the left. If the guy just looked up, he'd have seen a player unmarked for a clear run in on Pears. Wharton was just jogging back in a world of his own, when he should have been busting a gut to cover. -
I really don't get all this talk of us 'bottling it'. It's nonsense. What we have is a limited set of players, managed by a bloke with his own limitations, who I think has done rather well considering what he's working with. Take the game yesterday as an example. Yes, we were poor on the whole, but there wasn't that much between the two teams other than two extremely well taken goals. In contrast, our finishing was dire, because our finishers are dire. It's not a case of 'bottling it', it's more a case of there being, for now, better teams and managers than what we have.

Living rent free in your head? -
It wouldn't surprise me if the gate vs Norwich is higher than that for the Dingles.

I bumped into an old City supporting mate of mine at work yesterday. The first thing he said to me was 'How did your keeper not save that winner?' -
You're not the only one. England were just dull.

Which moment(s) in our history…

Way before my time, but my Dad used to tell me that the Rovers side that played under Johnny Carey in the 50s was the best in his lifetime. -

Sorry, yes, I was meaning we lost out on promotion . PNE lost on the day. -

My Dad took me to Deepdale to watch the PNE/Swansea game on the day we lost at Bristol, but I was fairly young at the time so it didn't really affect me that much. It has to be that Palace game for me. The stuff of nightmares that one. -
If we keep that performance level up, we don't need to fear anyone in the chase for going up via the play offs. Failing that, on the evidence of yesterday and the past few games (Stoke except), we're just 2 or 3 solid signings away from being strong challengers for the top 2 or 3. They need to back him properly in the summer.

Haven't we just. I'm just waiting for the inevitable 'you bought the league in 95' line....

Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?
Wheelton Blue replied to bigbrandjohn's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Szmodics is certainly proving me wrong, I'd written him off only a few weeks back. Dack will get his opportunity again though soon enough, it's a squad game and we'll need every man. -
Exactly. I also very much doubt that we'd be directly paying his wages and NI; he'd still have been an employee of Forest, as such they would still have remained responsible for paying his wages and NI to HMRC, and to whom we'd have simply been paying a loan fee.

The Ewood pitch doesn't run true. At the Swansea and Blackpool games, I saw the ball bobble up a few times. One instance in particular, a simple ball across the back line bobbled over the foot of one of the Swansea defenders. Luckily for them, the defender recovered it quickly, but it could easliy have caused them a problem. That could be us next time. 'Penny wise, pound foolish'. -

Hopefully these will arrive in time for both the play off and FA Cup finals 🙂 -
The cynic in me says that this will be just like any other government backed regulator. Think rail, water, energy etc.... Let's hope not, and that the regulator actually has some clout in addressing the greed of the PL clubs. I listened to the Crystal Palace guy - Parish - being interviewed on 5LIve at lunchtime. He seemed quite sceptical about.
