  1. You've said multiple times now that Dolan's agent was at Ewood on Friday. How do you know this? And if indeed he was there, can you confirm that he was there to see Dolan specifically? And if indeed he did see Dolan, did he discuss a contract renewal with him?
  2. Renewing contracts is something to boast about?
  3. I remember those trains running in the early 80's, also called the 'Ewood Express' IIRC. A trip to Shrewsbury comes to mind.
  4. 'A place in the squad' is about right for such a club. Here though, we're now seemingly desperate for him to remain as a starter, such is our squad predicament. To be clear, I'm all for keeping him, simply because he'll be replaced with a lot worse.
  5. An ambitious club would do better though, Matty. Of which we are plainly not.
  6. A progressive club would have either paid him the going rate or sold him on 12 months ago and reinvested. But oh, not us.
  7. This is what people forget. We've become so conditioned to watching and putting up with shite, that we've forgotten how it was before they darkened our doors.
  8. By 2nd May, if sales are as low as has been suggested, the likelihood of them selling many more post phase 1 would be minimal, you would think. Something would have to give in order to prevent an unmitigated financial disaster. However, I think they'll get a concentration of sales in the last couple of days, once people have been paid end-May.
  9. So a few qualifications and a year shadowing Waggott qualifies him to run a circa £30 million football business. Righto.
  10. How the heck does someone go from a purely sporting role (DOF) to a holistic business role (CEO)? Surely it's a different skillset. And that's ignoring the question of whether said person is qualified for the DOF role in the first place! 'Succession planning' the Venky way.
  11. Aye, praising the club for apparently getting the most basic commerce right. What next? Giving them kudos for fielding 11 players? 🙂
  12. Stock levels should be maximised around peak buying times; pre/early season and Christmas. Pretty basic stuff, really.
  13. Don't tell me what you're going to do; rather, tell me when you've done it. In the meantime, STFU.
  14. Of course it doesn't change the bigger picture, but after an awful, depressing run of performances, I was delighted walking off the ground yesterday.
  15. Hard one to call today. Millwall will be pushing for a win to maintain their top 6 chances. No pressure on us, but that could work either way. A draw I think.
  16. Some idiot said to me at the Boro game, 'Who would pay off the debt if the Venkys left?' To which I replied; 'Who's debt is it? Who created it? Who should own it?' Thick as mince, some folk.
  17. I stopped going for a couple of seasons around the time of K*an. My thinking was that I'd pick and choose a few games, but I gradually got out of the habit and stopped going completely. Then when my daughter showed an interest, I was back on it and realised what I'd been missing. I'm dithering for next season cos of the all the recent shenanigans, but will likely renew ours. The way I look at it now, is that it's our club, not theirs, and why should they again stop me doing something which I've done for most of my life.
  18. A non-Rovers mate of mine from Rawtenstall has taken his lad onto Ewood a couple of times just to watch a game. The club have his details, as is required for on-line purchases. You'd think he would be a perfect prospective supporter to contact and encourage to come back. Have they ever proactively contacted him? Have they heck.
  19. Of course, with our modern DOF structure of 3 expert footballing people and our well communicated short, medium, and long term plans firmly in place, all backed up with a solid investment strategy from the owners, the summer window will once again be nothing short of a major success.
  20. It doesn't. It's called 'make it up as you go along'.
  21. They've already succeeded on that front...
  22. Ok. I'll ask again, but slightly differently. So hypotheticaly, if Rovers - Gestede/Waggot/Pasha - sign players in the upcoming summer transfer window, in your opinion, would that automatically make those players good enough to play for a Championship club? As a reminder, this is what you said earlier.... 'if these crap players then they wouldn't be playing professional football at such a high level of football'
  23. So just because Gestede signed then, that automatically makes them good enough to play for a Championship club?
