  1. Not seen anything of Cov this season but a trip to their forums suggests things are a lot different to previous seasons. Robins has lost a lot of support and similar noises to us in that they sell the best players but fail to reinvest. Probably as confident as I've been in the last 3 years that we can go to Cov and get all 3 points but a draw would still be a good result. Interesting on Saturday that the main danger men were all benched. Whether that was Robins make a statement he needed more or to just be defensive against a stronger Leeds team I don't know. Reference Hedges, not my favourite player by any stretch but he's doing a balanced job. Has a goal in him and can play good football as we've seen in the past but not that typical winger that gets you off your seat and his goal contributions do need to improve if he wants to keep the new lads out as they reach their fitness levels/sharpness. I made the comment about height the other week, he's no Gueye but when it's JRC, Dolan or Ohashi to aim for, Hedges has a little but more chance of winning something, hence he seemed to be the target.
  2. Hedges also gets in for height I think. A few times this season when playing long we've aimed out wide because when big Mak isn't on the pitch, Hedges is the tallest forward player
  3. Jack Vale injured for an extended period reported by Motherwell
  4. Great result, a little tense until the 3rd goal even though they were poor. Pears was good with his shot stopping and pleased he and the defence got a clean sheet but there were a few moments playing out that gave us problems. On another day could have been costly. I thought we missed the focal point of Mak in the 1st half. Shout to Dolan for his pressing today. Could see the difference instantly when he came off. The whole team got the press to a tee I thought. Cantwell clearly lacking that match sharpness. A month of 30 minute to 60 minute cameos I think. Beck was very impressive. His place to lose at left back. Of course the best till last. Yuki is hard not to like. His effort, enthusiasm and humbleness whilst giving so much to the team and of course his finishing is fantastic. Deserved man of the match, I can see him really growing as the season goes on.
  5. For what it's worth regardless of what team I'd like to see, I think the team will be standard Eustace so far this season in the main. I don't necessarily agree with it all but just getting in the mind of the gaffer... Pears - not regarded as in poor form and as many have said, Toth I think will be integrated. Brittain - certainly the favoured option so far and as fit and available I see no change. Carter - as above Hyam - as above Pickering - tried, tested, experienced and I think favoured. If Big Mak was playing maybe JE would stick with Beck for delivery but back in training and assume will come back in but close call. Travis - captain and started the season well with Tronstad. Tronstad - started well, reliable and good partnership with Travis to date. Weimann - made an excellent start to life in Blue and White. Won't play past the hour when I expect JRC would come in. On the right BTW. Dolan - seems favoured and too soon for Cantwell but expect Cantwell to come off the bench around 60 or 70mins. His energy in the press should compliment the front man. Cozier Duberry - we've been crying out for pace and directness and so with Pickering behind, I think JE might just drop him in. I also think without Big Mak, there will be more of the ball on the ground and again should compliment the front man. From the left BTW. Ohashi - no real surprise with Big Mak out. Deserves a start and confident we'll see a big performance. Subs Toth, JRC, Beck, Batth, Baker, Buckley, Hedges, Cantwell, Sigurdsson
  6. I'm heading up for this one. Will be my first visit to Ewood this season. Gutted Big Mak won't be part of it but excited to see the new lads and I've got a good feeling about it. Don't think Bristol City look as strong as previous seasons but they are an unpredictable and inconsistent team. I'm gonna stick my neck out with a Rovers 3-1 win.
  7. Surprised by the lads ambition too. Premier League sub to League 1 when Championship clubs were enquiring. He's got more faith in Brum than anyone on the outside has.
  8. How is it disrespectful? JE doesn't like what ye sees so has switched it. JDT was lamented for not making enough subs and soon enough, now it's too many too soon...
  9. Worth noting Clement only wanted to keep Butland and Cantwell of the whole squad. It was Cantwell that asked to leave
  10. Was a tough year for the lad if it is. Looks like he gained 5 or 6 years if it is
  11. I saw this pic. a relation of Dolan?
  12. How much was a loaf of bread back then lol
  13. I think Siggy looked good when he got going last season after a disrupted pre season. Scored a few goals and looked to have a class and composure about him. After his injury he never looked the same, didn't look like he was enjoying life, not trying to beat players. Naturally defense is not most attackers favourite part of the game but he's got to make an effort like the rest. I hoped after a full pre season he would show some of that again but clearly JE isn't seeing enough to have him on the bench but he did well Tuesday albeit very weak opposition. I think he's a bit Brereton or Diaz. When he's confident, feeling loved he'll be Diaz but when the chips are down he'll be Brereton. I'd not right him off yet and definitely think he will be more effective in the middle.
  14. Gueye needs to play if we can get some crosses in, Norwich struggling with that. Their coach identified our weakness on the press so we need that outball/outlet. With the news on SS I'd go Yuki behind big Mak, Dolan left, JRC right. Still gives us Weimann, Siggy and Hedges from the bench.
  15. Can't think of the last time we scored 2 headers in the same game either?
  16. Waiting outside the players entrance 😀
  17. Not a fan of Pears like many but I don't think he can be blamed for the 2 Derby goals and don't recall him doing anything else tonight to draw criticism although I'm sure the time will come. Thought it was quite telling that losing Big Mak and his presence at corners left Hyam and Carter exposed. The players that came on didn't have that presence so we left ourselves open at the following set pieces and shipped 2 goals as a result. Can't argue with the impact the subs had at the other end but we do need someone else with stature and presence, e.g. a pacey 6ft 5 left back 😉
  18. Frustrating at times but so pleased with the result in the end. 2nd Derby goal took the shine off it for me. Don't want to be critical but was shocked we put another defender on at the end with Derby on the ropes. In my opinion Siggy should have been given a run to replace Dolan, then bang it's 4-2. Not read the entire thread so apologies if mentioned already but defensively I thought both full backs looked well off it and as a fan of JRC I think he was poor tonight. The rest were good to excellent though and really pleased for the lads.
  19. Todd Cantwell asked to leave. I watched the press conference where Clement left the media room but came back in a few mins later to say he had asked to leave. Rangers gave him a few weeks to reconsider. I'm biased and see the potential in our great club but I doubt he would drop Rangers to come here.
  20. What's happened on here? Todd Cantwell asking to leave Rangers to join Blackburn???? Dolan worth £15k a week and become one of the top earners????
  21. Scott Wharton travelling to Austria? I thought he was out long term?
  22. Tim Krul won't be signing, no chance. It's a soundbite generated to give fans something else to focus on. Funny how it emerges as Ruddy was about to sign elsewhere. If we were linked with a league 1 keeper or lower then there would be more noise so it's as safe and realistic a rumour they can generate to keep the fan base from losing it over what's really going on.
  23. Communicated? Even when they do its a pack of lies so what's the point. Club is rotten.
