Good spot. Likelihood is that the funds have been approved as expected, and 20/08/24 is the date in which they'll have to request to send the next batch... conveniently, slap bang in the middle of the transfer window. If we somehow manage to stay up this season, the owners won't do shit to assure that we're safe next season. Expect the usual circus in the summer... - Most/all of the Wharton and Raya money will go towards bills. - Tiny transfer pot if lucky, but can't be spent until after 20/08/24, due to "financial uncertainty". - Free's and majorly cheap loans mainly. - Relegation well on the cards, with 2 heavy dickings guaranteed from the dingles.

v Middlesbrough (a) - 16/3/24

A few games ago, I stated how I couldn't see where the next win comes from... but at this stage, looking at our fixtures, I can't even see where the next draw comes from. We are comfortably the worst side in the league under Eustace, embarrassing in pretty much every aspect, with Sammie being the only shining light. 'Boro have struggled a bit themselves this season, despite being capable of a cracking result here and there. There's a small chance that we could snatch a draw... however, I honestly believe that even if they don't turn up and play terribly, they'll still have enough to beat us. 3-0 'Boro. Venkys Out. Suhail Out. Waggott Out. -

This will just be a rinse and repeat of that dross from last night; - 5 at the back against a team around us. - no will to win. - no urgency to go forward. - just make sure we don't lose. 0-0 draw. Apart from Sammie and Scotty, the rest of these players just don't give a shit. You have a bunch of them who aren't good enough and just enjoying the ride, then another bunch who are good enough but genuinely don't care, as they'll happily be sold on the cheap and shipped off as soon as we go down. They need to fight for the badge while they wear it. They may be able to fuck off when shit hits the fan, but us loyal supporters will always be here... they need to show us and our Club some respect, and be willing to die for the 3 points. -
v Millwall (h) - 5/3/24
TheRevAshton replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Millwall have had a proper new Manager bounce with Neil Harris, winning their first 2 games with him in charge, and against good sides; Southampton (A), and Watford (H). Unfortunately, I can't see them having much trouble with us. Half of our players simply aren't good enough at this level. 0-2 Millwall 😔 This is what happens when cost-cutting is the only priority. Waggott and Suhail are desperate to appease those scumbags in Pune, even if it's at the expense of our Championship status. Get the rats out of our Club. Venkys Out. Waggot Out. Pasha Out.- 751 replies

There was a small passing moment that I loved in the first half last night, not sure if anyone else clocked it; The ball was in the air after a big bounce and going towards Jacob Murphy, he was looking up and moving in, clearly very intent on challenging for it, then he looked down and saw big McFadz bulldozing towards it and just backed right off. 😄 Could see that he had one look at him and thought "Fuck that!" - his whole life must've flashed before his eyes 😄

Norwich are a team playing well at the moment. In their last 4, they've won 3 and drawn 1, scoring 12 goals. Josh Sargent is in great form, having scored 5 of those 12. They're looking like serious play-off contenders - currently sitting in 8th place, only 3 points away from 6th. Can't say i'm looking forward to this one, to be honest! Would snatch your hand off for a draw.

v Cardiff City (a) - 20/02/2024, 19:45
TheRevAshton replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
You don't rest players and throw points away, especially not when you're in a relegation fight... If players like Szmodics or Tronstad got injured we would be absolutely naffed, that's true... however injuries can't be foreseen or prevented, every game is a risk whether you've played 2 games in the past week or 2 games in the past month. Fleck is a prime example of that, having picked up an injury in the first 15 minutes of football he's played in a long time. Rotate the players as normal, sure... but when you're desperate for points, you take the risk and play the best squad you can for every game. -

Thought the same thing, we're screwed if he takes a knock. Hell of a player. I'm already dreading the Summer Window... it's gonna hurt like mad when we let him go to an ambitious Club for absolute peanuts. -

Seen this too many times... - Cardiff not in great form. - Long coach journey. - 7:45 kick off on a cold Tuesday night. I already feel angry about how shit we played, in a game that's ~34 hours away. 1-0 Cardiff 👎 -
John Eustace - our head coach
TheRevAshton replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I honestly feel so disconnected from the Club right now. Everything just looks to be orchestrated by Waggott. He's brought in a likeable "yes man" to drive his agenda. The number of times Eustace has mentioned togetherness, family, and how many 'great' players he already has in the building... we all know that isn't entirely the case. It's generic sweet-talking to lower fans' expectations for upcoming transfer windows, an attempt to convince them that the Club is already full of class players that we just need to get behind, therefore we shouldn't expect too much. It's all about saving money, taking pressure off the board and the owners, and getting the fans to accept the bare minimum. The Club has been stripped of all ambition - something that JDT was not on board with, and wasn't afraid to make that public. Waggott is tirelessly looking to continue with his managed decline of the Club with as little uproar as possible. Cannot stand the little rat. We need vermin like him and the owners out of our once-great Club.- 3118 replies

v Preston North End (a) - 17/02/2024

Good shout, McFadz will probably need a rest. Start O'Riordan for this one. He's looked alright to me in his cameo's - he's young and inexperienced, but a big lad and looks decent on the ball too. Scotty, Hyam and O'Riordan to start - maybe stick McFadz in towards the end if needed. -

This is the one - either of Fleck/Bucko over Garrett. Even without full match fitness, they're likely put in a better shift against this lot, than young Garrett would. -

Ahh yes, Cardiff away next Tuesday. 7:45 kick-off, away from home, long journey... honestly, i've never been more sure of how a game will play out in my life. -

Can only imagine that we'll be on the receiving end of a comprehensive beatdown against this lot... bloody Preston, how far we've fallen. For what it's worth, Fleck must play - and Garrett, Telalovic and Chrisene must be kept out of it. 2-0 Preston. -
I tend to assume that the loons in Pune will continue to get the green light for sending funds over, unfortunately keeping the circus going for a good while longer. There's also no doubt that they'll reduce the amount of funds they send, after recent earnings. We've just got a guaranteed £18m for Wharton, £500k for Ennis and have ~£4m coming in from the Raya sale in the summer. So that'll be ~£22.5m in total... before we flog anyone else. Looking ahead to the summer: Ben Chrisene, Billy Koumetio, Yasin Ayari, and Andrew Moran will return to their parent clubs. Plus, the short-term contracts of Kyle McFadz and John Fleck will be up. Trav and Vale will be coming back. At a normal Club, Eustace would be properly backed after receiving income like that - but as we all know, this is far from a normal Club... In your opinion, will Eustace have some cash to play with in the summer, or not?
