  1. Both things are true. The owners didn't sufficiently back the manager and the manager was a dick head who oversawyet another death spiral.
  2. I do like the idea of this, given its a Blackburn tune and all. Ceremony is a bit dark, maybe temptation.
  3. Peas? I'll fuckin have you for that! How anyone could not have an unbreakable love for mushy peas I do not know. It really is a strange place in the land before time.
  4. Rovers should stand theit ground and not accept the game being postponed. If they cannot fulfil the fixture it should be forfeited. I can understand somewhat why there would be leniency for the pitch situation as it wasdown to the commonwealth games but the fixture list was released in June or July. There has been ample timefor them to sort out the situation. I'd be demanding three points. Rovers should not be inconvenienced because of Coventry's ineptitude. I feel for their fans. Absolute joke.
  5. Maybe it was just a case of showing that he's willing to do the job asked of him. Hopefully he has a couple more runs out like that then starts against the dingles and buries three past them in the first ten minutes.
  6. That's far more than most managers last at most clubs.
  7. I had no idea that John Entwistle was a rovers fan. Or even alive for that matter.
  8. There was discussion of it in the 1874 thread a while back. Sources closer to the time said we wore blue and white. I have never bought into this white shirt theory, halved or 'quartered' shirts were very common back then.
  9. As much as we all know Hull just bottled it last year, their excuse of covid was a reasonable argument to postpone the game at the last minute. It is a situation, like bad weather or something like that, that was out of the club's control. Naturally I think there should have been a 12pm cutoff for that rather than announcing at 2:30 or whatever it was. Coventry's situation is entirely of their own making and if they cannot fulfil the fixture because they couldn’t find a venue then the match should be forfeit to us and we are given a 3-0 win. Every other club in league and non league football can provide a venue for their matches. There is no excuse.
  10. Given that JDT played for the early 2000s Milan I'd say that's what he's going for.
  11. Will it happen or won't it? One thing is for sure, there will be absolutely zero consideration given towards the fans of either club. Optimistically I will go for a 5-0 win for the Rovers. We're going to win the league! Also get on the prediction centre. https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/football/predictor
  12. Some of the posters on there are even more brainless than I had anticipated. It's the cup final for both clubs. If you don't understand what this game means then you are not a real fan of either club. On another note, the end result of twelve years of Venkys is that I'd be happy with the league table finish asit stands today. How far we have fallen.
  13. What the fuck is everyone bickering about? We've just won four on the trott!
  14. Numerous sources say our first shirts were blue and white. For some reason one source that was written years after the formation of the club says it was a white shirt with a Maltese cross. This has been picked up on Wikipedia and has now become gospel. I'm not 100% but I have always been under the impression that we were blue and white 'quarters'
  15. The Stranglers - Golden Brown
  16. Dolan and Dack. Two different players that do two different jobs. You don't use a hammer when you need to use a screwdriver.
  17. Can't be down to funding, the owners have never refused to sign a cheque.... apparently
  18. We should just be given the win. If they can't find a way to adequately host games then they should just be forfeited.
  19. Saw Idles last night. Fuck me.
  20. If it was THE training ground that would be great. He was a coach for such a long time. Given that swag is in charge of it, it'll probably end up just being Tony's name misspelled scrawled above one of the bog doors in sharpie.
  21. And come here.
  22. Hard to really get excited about this tournament. All it has done is disrupt the domestic season which is what the majority of fans actually care about. The world cup is a fantastic spectacle and always entertaining, but club football is the real deal. Regardless of the numerous political and ethical reasons against holding the world cup in a place like Qatar, if the competition can't be played in the off season due to the weather conditions then it should be hosted by a country that can fit in with the domestic schedule.
