I would reckon the owners have driven off a good few thousand but there is a newer generation of fans that are being driven away entirely by the disgusting price.

That makes him even more of a failure. That is true but things can still be a million times better than what they are. Last season there was a real buzz about the club, even with the total collapse in the second half of the season. A decent price would have seen a respectable gate every week. Just saw an analysis of Carlo Ancelotti and his management style. Tomasson spent a good chunk of time at Milan working under Ancelotti and his philosophy seems to be somewhat similar in terms of the team being the number one focus. Given that he is possibly one of the best managers of all time this could potentially bode well.
