I think the idea of a DOF is to let the manager concentrate on the team on the field. Ultimately he will always have the final say in who we recruit. At least that's how I would expect it to work.

Results are what counts. If he's a right good bloke and has passion then great. But time and time again he has failed. The season ticket prices this year are a prime example of this. I understand that it isn't just him making all of the decisions but he is the top man and therefore the buck stops at his door. Under his stewardship the club has done very little to proactively deal with the issues that are faced. Instead its just more and more penny pinching and austerity. The only thing that comes out of austerity is more austerity. Oh and trying to flog half the training ground is a bit of a negative as far as I'm concerned. Also, if there is all this money available from the owners, who apparently never refuse to sign a cheque, then why is the stadium in the state it is, why don't we have a first rate pitch at all times and why don't we have absolutely world class training facilities?

It was so easy to get this right. The precedent had already been set by Bolton, PNE and Burnley regarding the ticket prices. They were all moving big numbers well before Rovers tickets went on sale. To get this as wrong as they did could only be done either deliberately or by absolute super human levels of incompetence. The season ticket figures are nothing other than total failure.

The season starts in seven and a half days. Don't know about the rest of you but I am genuinely excited.

Mark Hughes had no experience managing in the Premier League. That turned out quite well. Being involved in recruiting players for Wales will no doubt pay off as he's likely to be well connected throughout the game at the levels which we will be looking to recruit within. To be fair just going off the season ticket prices I'd say he couldn't give a toss. Thank you for your efforts, asking challenging questions and honest reporting of the whole affair. I can imagine that he would be a very welcoming and personable guy but at the end of the day actions are what count. Pleading poverty due to FFP, every club has to deal the same rules. One of the main reasons we struggle so much is the total lack of commercial revenue generated by the club. Season tickets, Ewood maintenance, commercial activities. All failure.
